Classic SoD players love bashing on retail acting like there 10 minute loops and Wild offering runs isn’t 10 steps below anything retail has to offer. I’d much rather grind M+ for gear than the same boss in the same 3 dungeons 24 times. Lol

I raid mythic in retail and only raid in SoD, i feel like both have nice and different aspect. Being social and easy going for SoD is a nice feeling, but the community tend to push limit to much for such easy content. Retail have much more thing to do and sweet cosmetic to collect, i live for both 🥰

Just having the achievement is enough to get into normal / heroic raids. if not that then atleast decent ilvl. but SoD you need good logs + be a "meta" spec. SoD players 100% try way to hard for a game thats so damn easy.
Though im not saying theres no try hards on retail, theres alot of those too for sure.

I slowly dropped sod after reaching level cap. There is no end game besides everyone over sweating the one raid one difficulty.

It's nice to see Savix realize Retail isn't as bad as the Classic community makes it out to be. I have found the most negative people that play wow on Classic and I gave up after P2. When you see both sides and see people at least try it out they actually might have fun and enjoy their experience.
But classic players NEEDS to stay on classic, Retail got so much better after that lot went away
It wasnt the classic community, stop gasing people. It was Blizzard who broke retail starting from BFA up to SL, that was the reason why everyone left to Classic. Savix left retail coz in SL there was so much routine and boring shit to do that it just broke him. And even in the beggining of DF retail still sucked, the good changes began from them reimagining the reward system, making any activity reward mythic raid level gear thats what brough retail back.
I had more toxic behavour in Classic than in Retail.
Maybe because ther is no World PVP and you can easy fast queue for Raids, Dungs and Pvp

My gf actually played SoD until some classic andy called her a rat because of some wrongly tagged mob which respawns like every 20 seconds. She stopped playing SoD and enjoying her peaceful journey in retail where she doesn't need to deal with some angry classic Andies sweating over 20yrs old game. :DDD

Funnily enough, I might check out retail as well. Ever since playing SoD, I started missing it (also liked S1 DF but just...kinda stopped)
S4 is a good season to come back, even if it's for a month or two, quite a lot a things to chose from if you can't do everything (or simply don't want to)
Come back for the Pandaria remix if anything. A huge portion of the community will be on it. And it drops mid may (:
wow, that looks nice, I've been playing for 2 years now wow and I had a hard time with retail as a newbie, so I only played classic wow because I found it easier to get into it instead of retail, but believe me, level up and test it out
Just find a helpful guild. A lot of people especially classic players come to retail expecting a classic community when that’s just not the case. Plenty of helpful guilds with great vibes willing to help you out! Great time to get in but I would wait for the Pandaria remix that releases early may! Will be a great time for new players to jump in and find a community!

Retail PvP is glorious. World PvP quests and gear are wonderful.
Savix has the right mindset! Enjoy both games! The new retail raid is awesome for example. Had a lot of fun there. Its different than the laid back SoD Raids and thats good!

The lovely griefers sitting in almost every level up zone to the point where blizz announces free transfers from PvP to PvE realms? The faction balancing lockout system that definitely isn’t erased by layering?

Retail raiding is great if you want the challenge. But many people don't want to be challenged on their free time. Maybe if I was unemployed or played for a living, then I'd focus on retail raiding.

I just started playing retail like 2 weeks ago. Boosted a fury warrior and just started pumping. Why did I ever play classic? Retail is actually so much better lol.

For any new players looking to play retail.
Wait for Pandaria remix in early may! A large portion of the community will mob over to that and it’ll be the best time to find a community. Getting into retail can be extremely overwhelming but finding a helpful community makes things infinitely easier
Anyone playing SoD has zero right to attack Retail due to the fact your running dumbed down retail content with dumbed down retail abilities. Daily’s beat out the 10 minute loop/WO runs. And before I get attacked by the classic Andy’s. I play and enjoy both just stating the reality of SoD. It’s braindead repeatable content. When I want to use my 1 braincell remaining I go to retail.
As a little follow up and this is MY opinion SoD was a fun 2nd game to play up until P3 for me Class balance I was fine with it being wonky but it’s gone way too or the rails, Wild offering runs feel like I’m running a Mythic+ on Normal. Loops feel like I’m doing daily’s but with a lot more frustration with griefing. The character transfers they’re currently offering seem to indicate that Sod is struggling a bit. But once again the game isn’t tuned for retail abilities so I was always curious how things would play out also Faction balance while layering exists will always result in Faction Imbalance. So Devteam is kinda goofy trying to pretend like they care about faction balance when you can just hop layers😂
I love playing evoker and since warlock is doggy doodoo in sod rn i went back to retail after awhile lol

Wait until the remix early may unless you are a returning retail player. Dropping into S4 may be a bit overwhelming for a new player(: The remix will be nice because you’ll be playing panda leveling a new character with everyone just with retail abilities. And you’ll be able to collect a lot of cool mounts to take with you into the War within^.^
Retail is awesome and all but there is couple huge problems:
- World quests and daily quests are horrible pain and worst ideas Blizz have added into the game.
- World PvP have changed into buff infested shit. And the game embraces instanced content when it comes to experiencing the "world" aka dungeons and battlegrounds are repeating grind crap. Make the World of Warcraft about the World not Grind of Dungeonfap.
- Instead of massive expansions ruining the rest of the content every 2 years they should change into adding "experiences" every month or 2 months as a small packages. Releasing new items, dungeons, raids, world content, events and features to make the story move forward constantly.
- Start taking risks and stop caring about pleasing everyone. If there is bugs and players whine, fix them. If there is cheaters and botters, ban them instantly without using any AI (hire damn GMs already). This game is about war between 2 factions and saving the world sametime from increasingly more stupid enemies. So embrace the world you have build instead of making new areas with copypaste assets and let the war happen.
- Force balance servers with free character moves between servers/factions when one faction gets locked but give those "tickets" for free movement in small dozes when needed. And when faction is locked it means that it is locked, no new players can join into the faction but the other faction gets free character transfer into the the server/faction.
- All gold, gear, vanity, achievements, reputation and so on is account bound. Only the class and professions are locked for the single character. And to be honest why not just unlock class/profession changes and allow single character to be every class and have every profession. The lore is so fucked up already that there is no reason why some random uncanny valley scaley can't be a paladin or demon hunter already.

retail better obviously, playing classic is for the social aspect and the memes and nostalgia
I will say that classic leveling until about level 45 or so is really good. Then they start sending you back and forth between the two continents and it’s a walking simulator.
There's game play elements that are superior.
People that still think they’re 14 and want to hate just to hate are the players I’ve met on both Era and SoD classic. I’ve played wow since TBC pre patch btw. The community is toxic.

PVP in retail isn't that good. It is far outdated and needs a rework badly honestly.
Which is where I think Classic shines, because the pvp there is more fun.
PVE on the other-hand is incredibly fun and feels so rewarding.
I would love to see you play some more retail Savix, especially when it comes to this next season which will be the season before War Within launches. Not only can you get prepped for it, but you can also get good stream content when working towards one of the Expansion Feature achievements.
The Expansion Feature achievements are BIG achievements that require a good amount of time to invest in so you can get a really cool mount. And the mount you get from Dragonflights is incredibly cool.

Literally dying with the SoD vs. Retail comparison. Honestly don’t know about you all but SoD P3 isn’t feeling very fun rn weekly ST with beta fish mechanics that somehow others can’t complete properly skewed pvp and everyone has same loot no differentiation. Might stop soon or try retail again looks kinda lit lol

they aren't. solo queue rated BGs start in season 4, a new BG coming in the expansion, and the dev interview they said they want to focus more on the BG aspect of pvp moving forward.

@@dcalliou7 we've had stat squishes in the past (WoD) and they didnt "kill the game" There is one planned for Midnight and it can't come sooner tbh
They do it every few couple of year usually when tanks start reaching 10m hp.

Both SoD and retail are god-awful. The War Within is the first xpac I'm not buying on release -- DF was the worst xpac of all time, they've lost my trust. I'll come back if PvP is actually decent.

3:05 the reason retail wow sucks. Why wait 2 months of mythic raiding. When you can spam mythic+15 and get full mythic raid gear within a day.
That's missing the point of gearing in retail wow entirely. You get gear from M+ and raids, it has an actual diverse loot system. Plus you don't get the best gear from M15s anyways, and at start of tiers working your way up to M15s isn't always easy in comparison to late tier keys. You only get BIS gear from mythic raid and vault
Because you can’t. You need to be doing 18’s, mythic track only comes from the vault, the best weapons and trinkets are like 85% from the raid over m+ and most importantly because you enjoy it.
M+ is fun small group content, raid is fun big group content.
If you’re not enjoying either then you should probably find a group you like being with.
Even if u get high enough ilvl, I doubt any decent mythic group is taking u in without checking ur logs lol. That or linking Aotc then u have a chance. But straight M+ into raid only works when the RL is a alt haha
