I’ve worn many hats during my life but none of them has any correlation to these videos. I have watched at least 30 of them so far because you are great at presenting an interesting subject. This is the type of quality I used to enjoy on PBS, the Discovery Channel, or TLC which have all sadly become watered down and have started pandering to those looking for entertainment rather than education. Thank you for taking the time to make these and God bless.

Good luck at the charity event. I look forward to it. B.t.w, the proper number of “dad-jokes” to tell is about half the number you want to tell. LOL! I’m sure it will be great.

I thoroughly enjoy your videos. You not only get into the meat of a subject, but it's not too technical. You have an interesting way of explaining things that informs, but doesn't overwhelm us. Keep the videos coming.

Fantastic Doc!! Looking forward to anything you have coming out. I feel that I have a connection to U.I.C.U. - my sister did her undergraduate studies at your fine institution in the early 60's. Also, as a 6 year old kid I fell into the fountain/pool in front of the art museum on a chilly January day. Would sure love to come back and visit someday.

thank you for explaining stuff in a way that's easy to understand. The way you teach holds my attention. It seems that you are truly interested in the subject being explained and not just reading from a script, and that makes learning it fun. Thank you again for dumbing down smart subjects for idiots like me so that we can understand. Lol.

Hello David. When I came across this channel and noticed your name, it rang a bell. As a youngster, I'd read "The Case for Going to the Moon" by Neil P. Ruzic. A little digging and I see that you are his son. It seems that science and technology runs in the family. :) I think I still have the book somewhere. I was particularly struck by his Ruzic Shield, a passive cryogenic cooler for manufacturing in lunar darkness. Can't find much about that online.
I'm still working through this wonderful trove of information you've posted. Your presentation style is great! You explain things in a clear, factual, accessible manner without spin or hype. I look forward to more! (And I don't mind squeaky markers!) If you have not done so, how about one on Small Modular Reactors?

    Dear sir:
I want to learn everything I can about nuclear energy. But my math is shit. It may well remain shit. I am a rational, sane human being, on a quest. I want to create the cleanest source of energy I can to put out as much electricity as possible. That means solar, but also nuclear. Nuclear fusion is best. Nuclear fission is good enough.
I want to go back to university to get a BA in science, and maybe eventually own my own nuclear power plant. Aside from money and willpower, What do I need to make my dream a reality?
My humble goal is strictly to launch as many animals into space so as to reseed the planet full of life as a means of preservation of life on earth, and in as many epochs of time are possible. Basically Elon musk with a railgun [mass driver]. perhaps private. perhaps public. but a foundation the size of NASA would be my dream to manage. The thing I like doing is planning. Always kinda has been..... and now I have all the words of science I need to begin my project, though long-term it is.
So tell me, Where should I begin? What scales should I work on to provide the best, most good energy possible, for the most amount of people possible? A budget will be necessary, but, I want to do a degree in nuclear sciences, engineering, and other fascinating areas of study, perhaps dark matter and energy (which are.... aggravating.)
I'm a pretty good thing explainer. Perhaps a challenge I should take on is using the 10 hundred most used words in english as XKCD did.
