This album and Shout At The Devil were the two albums that got into Metal. I was a 5th grader long haired, ear pierced, Blue Jean Jacket wearing little badass. Like many of you probably were too. Lol. Hit Parader and Circus magazine posters covered my walls of my bedroom. I had a tape collection from hell. I was smoking Marlboro Lights and smoking weed. The summers lasted forever at the apartment complex pool. Riding dirt bikes and bmx bikes. Then discovering girls , going to concerts. Then the 90’s were frickn’ awesome too. Now I’m 50 and still have a great life. It’s been a long strange trip and a damn fun one.

Man this album has solid riffs!!! For '81 this was really heavy and had a revolutionary metal sound.
Didn’t have much when I moved out of my parents in 1982… but I did have a turntable a couple of speakers and a bunch of albums … this was one of them! Rock On 🤘

Bought this shortly after its release because i thought the dudes looked cool and i liked the name...the rest is history. Lol...Their best record imo...Shout's good, but i tapped out after that.

Good album,fruity cover.
This sounds great, I prefer the leathur records version though. The bass is more audible, blends evenly with the guitar as do the drums, so the instrumentals come through in a more natural and upfront way. Also the track sequence is better (public enemy #1 is track 2 while come on and dance is the 2nd to last song right before the closeout ballad of on with the show) also the title track is its full version on the Leathur records version, come on and dance is about a minute longer and sounds heavier. That song, starry eyes, and on with the show were all re-recorded for this version of the album but I think the original was better. Also the original version had 10 tracks instead of 9, Stick to your Guns being the song that was omitted from the '82 Elektra release due to them being a major label that didnt want to pay for that songs copyright owners since Nikki Sixx had sold the rights to the song sometime in '81 due to financial desperation. The only thing that I prefer about the Elektra version is some of the vocal retakes on Piece of your Action, but thats really it. If any of you reading this want to hear a less glam, more hard rock/oldschool heavy metal, even mix, more song, better track sequence, less reverb version of this album then I strongly recommend looking up the original Leathur records version of this album here on youtube
Both album versions are available on the first "Crash your car" box set as well.
