Hi, I worked in Trinidad back in 2000 at Galeota Point Refinery . I remember many kind and helpful people. I stayed in Mayaro. I went to Prince's town and other surrounding places. I worked alongside process components.
Thanks for sharing your experiences of Trinidad. I have long road trips to Mayaro that you can find here: jbsmancave.com/trinidad-and-tobago-road-trip-map/
Very nice, Some of us are NOT "Trinis". We are seeing all of this for the very 1st time. I just love a great "Ride- Along" video. I have watched many from Trinidad. (I have and obsession for this country). I am from Texas. Most Trinis Never use a Gimbal?! Considering the condition of the roads. A gimbal would make the experience a whole lot more enjoyable and pleasant! FYI, a gimbal is an in expensive device for steadying the images.
Why do you have an obsession about Trinidad? Gimbals are too cumbersome to be mounted. The more modern cameras have stabilizers built in. My more recent footage uses that kind of camera or the camera is more securely mounted. To see all: jbsmancave.com/trinidad-and-tobago-road-trip-map/
@@JBsManCave MY obsession with Trinidad? Blame, "Mighty Sparrow" and SOCA (classic). When watching a shaky video it is frustratingly hard to read signs on stores, billboard and the faces of the locals. The video must be paused to do this.
Yes the shaky thing is annoying - that is my earlier footage. My newer stuff is better quality: ua-cam.com/video/E9CzlKpiEoU/v-deo.html and the walk around with stabilization: ua-cam.com/video/Xlyi4DesOg0/v-deo.html is where you will find it easier on the eyes.
Thank you kindly, I try to make my videos informative where possible. Feel free to let me know in those videos if it was a viewing improvement for you.
As usual, this was another amazing video! Anyone else thinks Princes Town is one of T&T's MOST BEAUTIFUL Towns?!!!!! I find it to have a kind of Charming European Town/City Charm.... the Promenade (Triangle) is like a city square, the buildings, all sooo Iconic, especially the Police Station, Churches and Mosque..... its so beautiful and well laid out, I feel like it beats many other larger towns in terms of beauty.... its like a chunk of Port of Spain or San Fernando got cut out and placed as a separate town.... JB a dream is to see this kind of content on local television, with your commentary, history of the towns/cities and it's historic sites, landmarks, etc, the whole bit. We really overlook the beauty in all we have here in T&T! We are BLESSED!!!! Never mind the problems here and there, we have a lot.
Buen video porque muestra otra cara de Trinidad, cual es la zona campestre, de más pueblo que ciudad. En el futuro este video tendrá mucho más vistas. Un cordial saludo desde Venezuela.
Hey JB I just saw the trip through Princes Town up to Fifth company baptist school and back ..long video 1:16:50 the poui trees is at 59:38 and 59:44 to the left in the church yard, if you had taken a left at 1:00:03 you would of taken the Manahambre road (Manahambre village) my home area and come back out to the highway...really enjoyed this trip bring back memories from my child hood /young adult life. Thank you JB.
Jameel, I may have some of Manahambre Village because of a visit to here: ua-cam.com/video/2J1DMhHU87U/v-deo.html but I'm not sure what I called it. Thanks for pointing out the trees!
Michelle, thanks for sharing your experience of Princes Town. As a former postal worker that means you have a more intricate knowledge of locations in Princes Town, not so?
@@JBsManCave I probably should but I don't. I worked in the building behind the counter. I was a youth then and I worked there as a part of a training program. It was a nice experience meeting all the country folk and eating the street food
@@JBsManCave yea, believe it or not, its good seeing the little bit of good road, before some other holes came along! you passed my place along the way, I wont say where though, saw my vehicle, lol

I have only been to the south about 4 times before I left Trinidad which was decades ago. We can no longer refer to down south as only country. People have built beautiful homes and many areas are now developed. You should start a tour company when you retire, Trinidad needs that badly. I like how you are putting notes on your videos now. I really need to tour Trinidad when next I come on a vacation. People from Port-of-Spain do not take me to these places.
Islandgirl, thanks for your thoughts. Yes, there is far more to see other than Port of Spain and that is what I try to bring out in my videos. You can see all the drives in the playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLehpyDJDvEdgKWXTh9BxREp7ZIsx1r5qD.html
@@JBsManCave I remembered in those days my mother will say we are going in the country side (Princess Town) and believe me it used to be a country side but now Princess Town is well developed. WOW!! The place is looking real nice.

I spent a summer at our close friends' new house in a new sub divsion of 800 cement one story 3 bedroom houses he was the project manager for in Arima 4 decades ago. I can't remember the name of the sub division. Do you know it? I really enjoy your interesting videos. I see many new construction in many areas of Trinidad. Thank you. Alan
D, can't say, it does sound like government housing if they were all similar houses. What you described is in many areas of Trinidad unless you are saying it was near to Arima? If so, it might be a place called, 'Santa Rosa Heights'. Thanks for watching, don't forget to Subscribe.
@@JBsManCave I was just now remembering it and then came up with the possibly name of Santa Maria but yes it is called Santa Rosa. He worked for a developer called Trinidad Development Corp. ,I think, and their office was in Port of Spain, a private company. I don't know if they finished all 800 houses. We enjoyed Trinidad. It is such a beautiful island. The food was good. Especially the chicken Roti and the giant prawns we got at plywood stands outside the fence of the industrial park along the highway. Regards Alan

@@JBsManCave We did go to Princes Town. Your videos show more houses along the rural roads now. One thing I do remember is many rural houses where built on stilts and underneath them were the stairs going up into the house in the middle of the house and not much on the ground underneath except sometimes they had a cooking setup. Now it appears most of these houses have enclosed the bottom part on the ground level to make a 2 story house but not all are like that and some still are open on the ground level. I also remember mainly wood construction except short walls with wrought iron fences on top and gates were cement or cement block. Watching your videos it appears cement block construction is very common now. Alan
