Hi Project Shop FL & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Project Shop FL & Friends Randy & Hello Project Shop FL & Happy New Year's & 2025
Cool to see you repurpose the original spooler to run in reverse. Makes sense to not have to cut wire apart when you have big coils like that. Steve thinking "Dag, I wanted that thing on the back side" 😂 Looking forward to Part 2.
Coming in shop looked pretty clean and good had room in there but for how long don't know just keep tearing it up my friend so far so good thanks for posting
That spooler may need a 'break', we have similar problems pulling cables on fresh rollers. As soon as someone stops pulling the damn thing keeps spinning. And perhaps conical spokes so it stops leading out. We have usually just tie some insulation around one of the bearings onto the frame, just to add a tiny amount of resistance. But of course your miles may vary.
ALL OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS ARE GREAT, HOWEVER DEREK ONLY HAS ONLY SO MANY HOURS IN A DAY!!! He even has thought of more suggestions than most yet... However Time awaits no one, so... we and ultimately Derek have not only expressed gratitude for your considerations but ten fold more concepts than any of us!!! Time is a restrictive enemy!!! Sooo.... keep the ides coming!!!
You need to create something that would act a a brake to put a drag on the spools so they don’t free wheel on you. Maybe something like adjustable flanges on both side, with one side spring loaded to create the drag. Just an idea.
Back at the house you had 2 guys pulling copper and insulation while you fed. The redesigned spooler needs some tension. Still, work with what you got. Productive stripping session.
@ProjectShopFl seen a video where a guy used a piece of emt(metal electrical conduit) strapped to a table on the backside of the stripping machine. The conduit was straight with a turn down bend into a bucket. He would stop the machine and feed the end of the bare copper into the conduit then restart the machine and it would automatically feed the stripped copper into the bucket and the insulation would pile up separately off to the side.
Said you had to redo wire spool can you get it to do more than one stripping wire would be awesome if anyone can it's you you run your machines and observe them then comes up with stuff to make them better for you might take a little bit of adjusting but you get it done that's why it's fun to watch you never know what you doing but you get it done proud of you this stuff is therapy for me after my open heart surgery and lung cancer stuff just watching you do your thing is awesome for me cause you are a can do man might take time but you get it done and the forklift a good addition to the shop you pulled in and it was clear where you had to go thanks again like third post but interesting stuff you do
Sell it whole to any company that makes resistance welding equipment. You would make 2 to 3 times more than you’re making scrapping it. It looks like 250 mcm cable. That stuff goes for $12.00+ a foot.
If I had the time, money and space to hold all the good wire I get I would try but It don't sell like you'd think and I will also make it up in the UA-cam video.
@@ProjectShopFl I would like you to have a bigger store. And if the wheel you made for stripping wires turns slower, you might get better performance. I enjoy the videos you shoot with your head camera more.
It may be easier if you but the copper back into the same size bin that it came out of. Putting it in that small barrel took more time then needed. The machine could have get it right into the big bin. Also the small pieces would fit in easier as well.
Does the landlord allow you to bolt the ground? if he does, then you should think about fixing with bolts and remove when you are not using so you don't need to take that much attention from the machine working and your self made equipment. you can also try and put a vertical bar between connecting the spool equipment and the wire stripping machine, using bolts too so you can remove it when you need it. Another tip with the spools is giving the end of the cable that you're not feeding into the machine and tie to one of the metal bars spinning as you start coiling the cable so it doesn't affect your process when you're unwinding the spool, I saw that you had many mishaps because the lose end that was not fixate anywhere keep on losing up the whole tension on the spool of cable. A few 3 or 4 spin on the bars should hold it until the end, just don't make it super stuck or will drag your equipment if not fixate to the ground or something very heavy. Cheers and Happy New Year!
Legitimate businesses do not buy second hand materials. No business is going to risk a potentially catastrophic loss on a $100,000+ project to save a couple hundred bucks on wire.
The people who will happily buy it will only pay around scrap price, and the people who use it all the time won’t buy second hand. The only people who will pay good money only need enough for one lead, say, and it’s not really worth the time and effort. Wire and cables are one of those things that really aren’t worth it unfortunately. The only wire I think would really be worth the effort would be power supplies and cords for electronics.
I'm a scrapper not a reseller. I don't have the time to deal with lowballs and phone call that go nowhere. I will also make up the difference or more off the UA-cam video.
Hi Project Shop FL & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Project Shop FL & Friends Randy & Hello Project Shop FL & Happy New Year's & 2025
Happy New Year Randy! Thanks for watching!
That truly is one of the most unsafe machines I've ever seen but i absolutely love it that thing is a beast!!!
Thanks I agree with you. lol
Good teamwork there! Nice haul guys!
Thanks1
thats how its done you figure it out and get the job done thanks for sharing with us another great video for sure
Thanks 👍
Every time you drive the fork in at the start, that is straight off cutting edge engineering's channel :p
Thanks one of my favorite channels
Great channel
HIT THE THUMBS UP KIDS!!! HELP A BROTHER OUT!!+ PEACE FROM CANADA 🇨🇦 FOLKS!!!

Thanks! This is what I originally built it for.
Oh I thought it was part of something for spooling up the stripped copper on the back side. I misunderstood.
Looks very clean and orderly the shop thatis
It is a work in progress, Thanks!
Great scrapping video nice job
Thanks 👍
Feed the copper king and bump the algorithm
Thanks 👊
A proper CCE entrance at the beginning, Nice!
Thanks, Thats one of my favorite UA-cam channel
The coiler needs a drop of oil. Funny how that stands out.
Thanks for the suggestion
Gold, gold, and more fawking gold 💛 ✨️ 👌 😍
😂😂😂👍👍
What a workout 😅
😂😂😂 Steave's arms were like noodles after that.
@ProjectShopFl 😆 🤣 😂
You two look like you’re having spools of fun ✌️.
😂😂😂
If you made another spool for Steve with a Handle on it that he turns might be faster for the copper wire that is
I will be making something that will help the guy on the back side.
I will be making something for that soon.
Donut maker to the RESCUE .
👍👍👍
Make a jig for the forklift for the wire spools!
That definitely seems like an idea worth exploring.
Thanks for the suggestion stranger
you still making videos? I used to watch you all the time but aint seen one in a hot minute lol your actually how I found project shop
@@ProjectShopFl hahahaha
That's the way to strip copper.
👍👍👍
Speed controller on copper king when larger cable is stripped. Slow it up a bit. Gives Steve more time to get the copper in the barrel or bin.
Funny I think it needs to faster. lol
What a great video thanks derek
Thanks! 👍
Can't wait for part two. Nice load so far.
Thanks!
Awesome video
I love watching you strip down wire
The first video of yours I saw was stripping wire and I’ll always enjoy watching that
That's awesome thank you.
Coming in shop looked pretty clean and good had room in there but for how long don't know just keep tearing it up my friend so far so good thanks for posting
Thanks!
Derek has to keep the shop semi clean to get that forklift through . But you know , things pile up , get cleaned out then start over again.
I love copper day 🎉🎉🎉
Me too. lol

Wore Ol Stevie out on those spools. 😂 Nice work stripping them!

Thanks when I make a new one I will make a drag break.
Nice work buddy, hope you have a Happy New Year my friend 👍
Thanks, Happy New Year!
You guys are like the wright bros. The Right Bros. Could turn a bicycle into an airplane👍
😂😂😂 Thanks!
have you looked into recycling the outer plastic that comes of the wire they might just take it of your hands so you dont need to scrap it
Yes no one will buy it in south fl.
Back at the house you had 2 guys pulling copper and insulation while you fed. The redesigned spooler needs some tension. Still, work with what you got. Productive stripping session.
Could be as simple as a rubber bungee or insulated wire hooked behind the spool, hung over the axle and weighted in the front to slow it down
Thanks!
That's the definition of working smarter not harder. You could probably build a widget that would funnel the wire into the bucket
I will be making something to do just that.
@ProjectShopFl seen a video where a guy used a piece of emt(metal electrical conduit) strapped to a table on the backside of the stripping machine. You could put a clamp on the right of the copper king for a temporary copper, casing devider .
Thanks for the suggestion
Thanks for the suggestion
Man I bet that's fun to do
Yes it is. lol
Nice stripping!!

man that first spool had to be worth more sold as battery cables / welding leads these days sheesh man that would have lasted a life time for me lol
It could have but I don't have the time, money , or space to hold all the good wire I get in the hopes someone will buy it.
Wouldn’t selling the welding wire as welding wire be more profitable rather than scrapping it?
If you had a buyer that needed that size and type of wire.
Add a cardboard baler and make copper bales now you have a forklift feed wire right into the prees
Thanks for the suggestion
Why don't you build a rail crane for your shop? Greetings from Turkey, I enjoy watching.
I'd love to but This place is not right for that.

i think Steves getting the short end of the deal lol
😂😂😂😂
That's the way to strip wire you on one side and him pulling the cooper to the bucket makes it a little bit easier looks like but might be wrong
It worked great.
Tell the guy in the yellow shirt to wear a face shield...😊
Ok Thanks for the suggestion

You need some sort of tensioner on that gismo.
Thanks for the suggestion

I think Steve’s gonna need a BUD 🤣.
😂😂😂😂
Can you demo the office? More space
😂😂😂 No that's where I edit videos.
@@ProjectShopFlyou got a house dont you 😂
@@matthewwimpey7220 he should just live there it would be easier

Rumpelstiltskin weaving copper into gold!
😂😂😂
Put a vfd on copper king so you can control speed
Thanks for the suggestion
Have you ever gotten got by that stripper? It could mess some stuff up!
Just noticed your “hole” puncher in waistband! Has to be safe lol
Only once I got my finger tangled in some small wire and it pulled it to the machine. I immediately made the clutch. lol
Awesome vid as always!!! So is Steve back now or is this an older recording?
He is all over the place. lol
you couldn't find a local welder to purchase that cable?
Possibly but I don't have the time for dealing with all that at the moment.
How many pounds was the spool of wire?
over 400 lbs I will go over it in the end.
Could you tell me witch video or videos are good sources for copper wire, transformers, etc.(people to go too.) thank you Derek.
Wouldn’t it be worth more if u made welding cables out of it and sold them?
If I had a buyer that needed them but that's not usually the case and I can not sit on it in the hopes I will find someone to buy it.

Thanks for the suggestion I have a setup for the spools that attaches to the stripper.
That forklift needs new tires on it
It needs a lot of things. lol
This machine needs a lot of cooper to get enough 😅
It will never be enough. lol
How to a dollar and turn it into a cold hard nickel.
How to turn $450 in to $1250 in 5 minutes
Why would someone /a company scrap an entire roll of new welding cable? Wow! What did that roll weigh? You find the best stuff to make cash on!
It was for a job and it was never used for some reason and then it sits around in the way so I get to scrap it. lol
If it’s unused/brand new why not sell it where it can be used what it was intended for?
Probably too much hassle. It just gets recycled into new spools
if it’s not defective…
