  • Terrell Danely's journey to Washington Literacy Center was fueled by his passion for people, education, and the community. A former DC junior high school teacher and retired chef/restaurateur, he has over three decades of experience working with youth and adult empowerment programs,
helping the city's most vulnerable citizens overcome perceived barriers to education and employment.
Terrell's post-hospitality experiences include the Potomac Job Corps Center, DC Central Kitchen, and the Washington Literacy Center, where he serves as the Senior Director of Programs. In this role, Terrell oversees all educational programming, developing, leading, sustaining, and
growing WLC's academic and training programs, leveraging community partnerships to provide innovative curricula and programs. His vision of applying a holistic multiple-intelligences approach to youth and adult learning will position WLC as an educational frontrunner in the
    District of Columbia.
A native Washingtonian, Terrell is a current Ph.D. candidate in the Urban Leadership program of the University of the District of Columbia, focusing on hope research. Additionally, he holds a Master's degree in Adult Education, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education from Penn State University, and an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts from the prestigious
    Culinary Institute of America.
