    Great video! thanks! Was wondering how to take care of the wood on the chemex, the finish is starting to come off the wood. Thanks!

    I have the 6 cups, and this one. I really love the design!
    I also discover that if I clean it with Cafiza, looks like a new one (I hope it works for you too)

    What size Chemex brewer would you recommend for 22g recipes at a 1:15-1:17 ratio? 3-Cup / 6-cup?

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  2 роки тому +1

      I’d probably do a 6 cup but it’s worth trying on the three cup. I’m sure you could get a great result on either by adjusting the grind. I’m usually a 16g brew or 30+

    What is the difference between this and the Hario V60? They seem exactly the same.

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  Рік тому +2

      They’re very similar. The most meaningful difference is actually the filter material. Chemex filters result in a cleaner cup

    Some days ago I bought one taht is different to this one, for 2 cups and a little more, 400ml .... I try to find paper filters to this one and I couldn't find it, there is one stailess filter that is suitable for mine.
    But at the moment I brew with a big V60 filter.
    Can you help me for a recipe fot this one?

    It's hard for the water to get to the bottom... very confusing. Doesn't gravity take care of that?

  • @JinggaNL
    @JinggaNL 2 роки тому +2

    How would you scale this to the max capacity of the 3-cup? (350ml) 21gr, about the same drawdown time so a bit of a coarser grind?

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  Рік тому +1

      The drawdown can go a little longer with double the dose and a coarser grind

    Gravity doesn't get the water all the way down to the bottom?

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  2 роки тому +1

      It does, however the grinds can still “stall” a brew of you don’t give them that extra hit of agitation. This will mean that the last bit of the brew takes a long time and ends up very bitter

    Hi! Very helpful pouring tips! If I may ask, have you ever tried the 3 and 6 cup with the same coffee? Do you feel the different neck shapes produces a different taste? I'm on the fence, I don't need the 6 but... anything for the better taste! :)

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  2 роки тому +1

      Great question! I usually only do single serve on the 3 cup and 2 or more servings on the 6 cup so the flavour changes a bit even on account of the different recipe/grind size etc! The three cup definitely flows differently so there is some impact on the flavour for sure

    I have the large chemex filters, how can I adjust them for the 3 cup?

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  2 роки тому

      The best thing I can think to suggest is to fold them an extra time before opening them up, that should make them the right angle to fit. But the filters will be thicker than intended so you may need to grind more coarsely

  • @joannadevito8518

    When u say if the coffee is dripping down longer go coarser and shorter go finer. Shouldn’t that be the opposite?🤔

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  Рік тому

      Nope! That’s right. Think of it like water draining through sand or rocks. If it’s draining through rocks it will flow super fast. If it’s draining through sand it will flow much slower. You want to adjust the size of the particle to bring the speed to the sweet spot in the middle

    Why is it called 3 cup when it makes one cup of coffee?

    • @DaddyGotCoffee
      @DaddyGotCoffee  3 місяці тому +1

      "Cups" on coffee makers are generally 5oz. This is generally true for any coffee maker including countertop batch brewers.
