    Really enjoyed the video. My champ also has the no bounce gear, when you hit it just right you will put the tail wheel on the ground and the wings are still floating for while then the airplane settles that last little bit, what a cool feeling, it brings very big smile every time because you know it was as slow and as smooth as it gets.

    The standard of restoration on this particular Champ is outstanding,the attention to all the detail speaks for itself and someone has put hours of work into this,looking at the other aeroplanes in that hangar they all look in pristine condition and obviously very well cared for by their owners,as ever Dewey a very enjoyable video,you are a very responsible ferry pilot who gets these newly sold aircraft in the right location for the new owners to enjoy,well done sir !.

    Great job Dewey. What a beaut of a champ! Really like the glare shield idea. Wish I would have had one of those for my old Stinson. Would have saved a few "crows feet" around my eyes. LOL! Take care. Can't wait to see what is next. Greetings from MN.

    I ferried a Swift from that exact same hangar a few years ago. Took it to the new owner in Wisconsin. Very nice collection that guy has there in Mount Pleasant.

    Thx u Dewey. That’s was great and a great plane. Nicer than mine. I’m fortunate to have 46 champ with the aluminum spars and extra fuel and O200. Still Armstrong starter. I don’t mind. It’s all fun. Thx u for sharing.

    Thanks for that, really nice to see this one close up after your epic trip. It looks like a splendid aircraft. Ours has standard suspension with a solid Maul tailwheel and standard 65hp. Hoping to start the engine for first time following a rebuild sometime this weekend, has an oil filter adapter now in place of the screen, so can’t wait to see how she runs.

    Thanks for the tour. interesting to hear about the current high demand for these airplanes. I guess there is a lot of money sloshing in the economy.

    Whoever bought that Champ, paid WELL in excess of 30k guaranteed! That is one nice Champ, with a metal wing and a O-200, yea, top money for sure!!!!

    I have “no bounce” gear on mine as well you hit it spot on, when you land the tires are on the ground but it takes another second for it to almost settle haha.

    How can you have a 100hp champ with a small tail like that? I’m pretty sure the STC for anything more than 85hp requires the installation of the big super champ tail. The owner might want to check that the STC was done correctly.

    So with that O200 what kind of useful load would you say it has? North of 550?

    • @DeweyDavenport
      @DeweyDavenport  Рік тому

      Alan. I am not sure what the useful load was. I would say with the O-200 it couldn't be very much.

      @@DeweyDavenport That’s what I was thinking. Probably the same as a J-3 with a 85hp. Thanks for the reply.
