I've tried searching up what was wrong with my knukle on my middle finger, and the knuckle is swollen. It's causing no pain, it's not red, and it's The same color as my skin. What's up? (When I push on it, it feels hard as bone)
This might be really useful - I'm a wrist spin bowler and the way I impart the spin on the ball involves a lot of finger action and increasingly the day after bowling for hours my finger joints feel over-used and sore. (Probably don't help that I'm 63 either).
thank you so much eternally for this, I feel like crying right now, just using my other hand's thumbnail as a very crude "tool" trying to dig into the areas you showed it helped some, then did the active release some and my 2nd joint on my right index finger that's been sore and hurting for...gosh...nearly 2 years now off and on feels better after popping. I'm going to order an actual tool and some massage oil on amazon shortly and definitely try to work on the tendons throughout the entire arm. I've also ordered some capzasin cream to apply to that 2nd joint as well. I'm sure it's a mixture of inflammation and scar tissue. I remember jamming/straining that finger around Dec 2022 and it was never right since. I've tried to avoid using it very much for gaming or using the mouse scroll wheel on the computer for the most part as well to try and heal it for the past few months but it was just so stubborn not wanting to ever heal... I truly think maybe it was sitting wrong in the joint plus long term adhesions. I really didn't want to have to resort to cortisone shots if at all possible since I'm only 33 and I heard those end up sadly doing more damage to the tissues
Around 6-7 months ago I started getting pains around the joint of the knuckle of my ring finger I have been popping my knuckles for most my life but when these pains started I completely lost the to pop my ring finger knuckle and it has also affected the way my pinky pops too where I used to be able to pop with a simple press now have to press and clinch my fist just to get i small pop from the pinky I have no pain in the pinky though and the only part of my ring finger joint that hurts is the area closest to the webbing inbetween my ring and middle finger the pain is tolerable most times but it actually never really stops hurting but it does hurt more somedays and hurt less others it’s also seemed to affect movement in some way something just kinda feels off but not really like it almost feels like my knuckle isn’t where it’s supposed to be it’s really hard to explain to be honest and I can’t find anybody talking about something even similar to this do you have any advice as to what the issue may be I do play a lot of video games but I don’t know at any point that I did anything to physically injure it unless I punched a wall in my sleep and didn’t realize I did but it did mysteriously just come out of nowhere and has worsened over time
There can be a lot of reasons. From Arthritis to tendon issues (contracture) and joint capsule issues. That said, You should really get some muscle work, or learn how to do some of this work yourself. Best option is to do both!
My husband's index finger knuckle is swollen, and the next knuckle is somewhat swollen. Not being sure he wasn't stung or bitten by a spider, or garden pest, I put some drawing salve on, and bandaged it for overnight. It was very slightly different by late morning, so l did 15 min. Ice, then 15 min wet heat, with no improvement, so maybe these ligament stretches will be the ticket. He has very mild pain, if the area is pressed. Thanks for the video!
My middle finger is still swollen and the mid joint it feels like the bone is aching and it's been over a month now but still i feel some sharp pain otherwise i can move my finger normally Also it does look swollen at the middle part I would be glad if you could help me out
The tool has several benefits but its a way to work the soft tissue so you can heal better. That said, if you do not have it you don't have to spend a lot of money to get the a decent tool. I have a linked a few in the video that you can check!
Are you saying grasting tool? I have been an avid weightlifter for over 34 years. A few weeks ago my index finger became painful and swollen at the knuckle….mostly on the side of it. I’ll try anything?
Hey. About a year ago, my pinky finger was stubbed by a heavy object being swiftly handed to me. It has hurt ever since, its my middle joint. The top of it. Lots of pain, slight swelling. I can bend it but not as much as my other and i can no longer pop it like i used to be able to. What do u think is wrong? Any tips on whay i should do to try to heal this myself?
I hyperextended my finger while throwing shot put and can’t bend it back what should I do? I’ve been buddy taping and icing I just want to know how long it’ll take
Depends on how much hyperextension you have to it. I have seen finger injuries around the 6-8 week mark heal but I have seen it be considerably longer. Start with some bracing of it at the beginning and try to keep gentle mobilizations;
Thank you so much! The release pulling help immediately! My middle finger knuckle was swollen from overuse and anytime I used it I would have pain. I did ice prior to doing the release.
My son got hit with football on his middle finger tip and got mallet finger; it did not got corrected with splint for 2 months and then gone for surgery of mallet finger. Mallet finger DIP joint started working after 6 months of surgery with physio. And next month his same middle finger PIP joint stopped working and finger is bent down to the palm, as per MRI it shows little rupture in central slip. Then second surgery performed for PIP joint to repair central slip. After 8 months of surgery still finger not functioning and also have pain in PIP joint and finger looks like boutonniere deformity. Please advise as my son is facing this all from last approx 2 years.
I would ask the surgeon what else you can do. Try to see an Occupational therapist and find someone who can do Graston or Active release to work on the hand
BJJ can be tough. I got into it to avoid concussive strikes but found myself with much joint discomfort. I have a lot of pain in a tough to self treat area. Mid back and near the left shoulder blade. Any suggestions for self release? I have tried different balls but seems to always be tight and painful consistently. I've been to the my doctor but no broken or torn things now just scars maybe. Any tips appreciated.
I punched my desk and badly bruised my pinky knuckle. Its been a week now and its still very painful. I can move it up and down but if I move it down more then it becomes very painful. Could this be a fracture?
I was sliding and my left middle finger caught under the slide and now it it hurts at the knuckle for the middle finger , I cracked it before a long time ago and it never hurt anymore, but I tried that I can’t pull the finger down enough to crack it cause it hurts to much
Will do. Anything specifically you want to see. Sometimes placing your hands in ice water or epson salt baths helps to relieve some pain and discomfort.

THANK YOU! I thought my middle finger was broken. Did the active release, heard a snap, & it’s fixed!
You're welcome! Wow what a story! Glad you are well.

Did it go away? I’m having similar symptoms…thanks!
I don’t have that tool. Can we use something else?
Yes, you can use a cheaper tool! There is a link to some tools on Amazon.

Same exact issue. Did it heal eventually? It's miserable 😔
@GiliusThunderhead it has healed but I can see a small bone growth in the middle part of the bone and it kinda hurts in phases
Bro just instantly fixed me😂
Love love love
Thank you 😊
Thank you for watching
I just woke up with this sharp pain in my right middle finger in the top collateral ligament. What could be the cause of such sudden pain?
What is special about that tool. What if we don’t have that

Are you saying grasting tool? I have been an avid weightlifter for over 34 years. A few weeks ago my index finger became painful and swollen at the knuckle….mostly on the side of it. I’ll try anything?
The technique is called Graston Technique. There are 6 different Graston tools. This can help when applied properly.
Same here, did you find out why?

See a musculoskeletal expert
It's been 7-8 months now
I hope you are better by now!
Now fixed
Would trigger finger pain cause the finger to feel like it’s jammed?
Trigger finger is more locking, and there is pain along a lot of the tendon. Some people report that is stiff. but also very sharp.
@@DrJoshJagodaWould this technique be good or bad for a trigger finger Injury?
Thank you so much broo
You are welcome!
Exlent 👍😍
Thanks!
My boyfriend messed up his middle finger and ring finger... he just wants to break them to avoid the pain .. please give some advice
breaking them makes it worse lmfao
yes don't break em!
Same problem 😔
Well it did help a little but I think my middle knuckle is permanently broken.

When I playing volleyball that time i had middle finger pain, I have pain 2 weeks from now that not reduced yet what can I do
Try to treat it using some sort of therapy. Don't forget to strengthen it too.
Can you please tell me how to adjust my left middle finger? Because I kept stretching it to the left and it's having some pain in the knuckle
Usually you can just pull on it gently... Go see someone if you need assistance.
my top of the middle finger's knuckle's nerve is sliping to side and up when I close and open my fist. what should I do?
Your nerve is slipping?
Im having that same kind of pain .. What happened next , did you see a doctor?

Usually this is more of a neck injury and the releases in the shoulder blade can help but are temporary. Check out some of the neck videos!
I punched my desk and badly bruised my pinky knuckle. Its been a week now and its still very painful. I can move it up and down but if I move it down more then it becomes very painful. Could this be a fracture?
It could.... Any trauma to the body could do that for sure so get it checked!
lol i punched my friend and have the same thing
did it end up being a fracture?
@@haz7the1st6 no it wasn’t a fracture but it still hurts every now and again.
