Chaos in Malaysia parliament after opposition lawmakers press House on Sabah issue

  • Malaysia's opposition members of parliament kicked up a ruckus to protest the Speaker’s rejection of motions to debate the legal seizure of Petronas assets abroad. They accused the government of poor handling of the legal claims by the "heirs" of the Sulu Sultanate that resulted in state assets being seized. This comes as politicians gear up for the next general election, which could be called at any time.

When you pay rent to a land its because the land doesnt belong to you. Malaysia pays rent to sultanate of Sulu since 1898. Therefore Sabah doesnt belong to Malaysia. Its that simple.

Just to get this corrected. The original deal in 1878 - The Sulu sultan leases Sabah to the British North Borneo Co., represented by Englishman Alfred Dent and German Gustavus Baron de Overbeck in a deed of pajak (“lease”) in which the company would pay 5,300 Mexican gold pieces a year to the Kingdom of Sulu. Instead it was converted to ringgit. This is one of the reasons why the rent ballooned to 14.9 billion dollars in todays money. I hope this helps you all see the truth.

5,300 spanish silver dollar coins to be exact. The spanish dollar is the base of creation of today US dollar. The real payment must be taking into account for the estimated US dollars value during 1963. But that is not a case. What is important is for the Malaysia government to explain the concrete reason the Sabah already a part of Malaysia and supported by the Sabahans free expression for their integration with Malaya to create Malaysia under the United Nation resolution 1541 where the people were aware of their change of status as founder of Malaysia, the continuance of the payment is the mistake of the former government. we need to clarify to Philippine and 193 countries around the world that Sulu heir has no sovereignty basis in the Republic of Philippine to actually claim for the cession payment. If they really need the money as an legitimate Sulu heir, they must request it from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2 that was responsible for this cession payment. This matter should be resolved once and for all otherwise Sabah would be at the stake of Philippine claims and the invasion shall happen at anytime. Just learn from what had happen in Ukraine

No, the payment only cease last 2013. So they owed only RM53k for rent not $14.9b. The $14.9b may be the amount of natural resources appropriated throughout the years and some damages to the ecosystem and human rights violation to the Pilipinos is Sabah and interest.

They later included Sabah in the formation of Independent Federation of Malaya in 1963 ignoring it's history of cession.. The fact that then US Governor General of the Philippines F.B. french arbitration would have easily dismissed the case if the basis for the claims are illegal or illegitimate.
the arbitration has found a strong probable cause to heed the claims of the heirs.

A country rules by kampung laws, the man who is responsible for the deterioration of the country is Mahathir who removed all the good systems laid down by the British after independent due to the Malay pride. He brainwashed the Malays with ketuanan Melayu and discriminate the non Malays. In order to gain the support of the Malays, he implemented “Dasar Ekonomi Baru” the new economic reform where Malays are given special rights in every sectors right from businesses to education which leads to the deterioration of the education and jurisdiction systems, the enforcement of 30% Malay shares in all businesses that were built by the non Malays, the deterioration of the government services due to the tidak apa attitudes, his bad mouth speaks whatever that he likes to cause tension and hatred among the races, absolute power were given to religious leaders to oppress and create religious sensitivity among the people, corruption among government ministers in daylight including himself. He used nationalism to make the Malays think that they have all the rights to do whatever that they like without having to abide to the rules of laws that’s why his successor Najib became popular globally, this is one of the rotten fruits from the tree planted by Mahathir and countless numbers of corruption by ministers and government officials are normal in Malaysia before they are given special rights to do so. The fact that Malaysia pays RENT for Sabah to the Sultanate of Sulu (Philippines) means that Sabah is NOT theirs. Why would you pay rent if it is your own property? Doesn't make sense, right? That's also the reason why Mindanao(part of Philippines near Sabah) is plagued with terrorists from Malaysia coz they want to destabilize the region to weaken Philippines' claim to Sabah. Just accept the arbitration ruling that Sabah is actually a Philippine territory. Documents are still within the possession of the Sultanate of Sulu that Sabah is theirs and it was just being rented by Malaysia. It was Malaysia's greedy government's fault that they proclaimed Sabah as one of their States even though they know that they are just renting it from the Sultanate of Sulu of the Philippines.

The sultanate of sulu is not a self proclaimed heir. The Royal Sultanate of Sulu has legal and historic rights over north borneo. A foreign company in itself has no rights to handover a sovereign land to another soveriegn power with the fact that it is only given the privilegde to least the land. In any legal matter if there is mistranslation or misinterpretation to a contract then the original intended meaning of a word should be followed in this case it meant "lease" not surrender.
The creation of the Philippine Constitution recognizes all current territorial and historic soveriegn claims of its subjects which includes the ownership of the Royal Sultanate of Sulu of North Borneo.
The Government of the Philippines acknowledges the claims of the sultanate and that is clear.
Sabah is ours. For all the Filipinos that was displaced due to Malaysia's annexation of Sabah is illegal though it was made through a referendum they have failed to engage and involve the Filipino public to cast their votes on that very day.

The new Philippine government sought to distance itself Tuesday from a controversy between next-door neighbor Malaysia and heirs of a sultanate who are trying to seize international assets of Kuala Lumpur’s state-owned oil company, in a land dispute going back to the 1800s.
The claim by the descendants of the Sultan of Sulu “is in the nature of a private claim” between two private parties and does not involve the government, a spokeswoman for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said, referring to the heirs and Malaysia.
“Therefore, it is not an issue of sovereignty or of territory at the moment,” Trixie Cruz-Angeles told reporters at a news briefing.
She was responding to recent reports from Malaysia that quoted members of the sultanate as saying they hoped that President Marcos would help them recover Sabah, which is part of Malaysian Borneo and is close to the Sulu Archipelago in the far-southern Philippines.

This so called Sultan Sulu leased almost half portion of Sabah to British before independence, that's the claim that the British been paying him, then after independence the same Sultan Sulu claimed that he needs to be paid. After independence the Malaysian government back then been paying him. Till around 1970s, the Philippines Government and the so called Sultan started claiming Sabah belongs to them but it's been ignored but the Malaysian government still were paying them.
In 2013, from nowhere this Sultan send his troops for terrorist attack in Lahad Datu, Sabah to seize Sabah. They were destroyed and defeated by the Malaysian defence/armed groups but many Malaysian civilians were killed. After this terrorist attack, Malaysian government said fukoff to Sultan Sulu's claims and demands and stopped paying any money to him.
When Pakatan Harapan government take over Putrajaya back in 2018, the Sultan Sulu came back and claim for the Sabah land and were blaming Malaysian government not paying them lease since 2013, and were demanding the PH government to pay him remaining leased money and also to continue paying him.
Our stupid Attorney General of Malaysia under PH government agreed to this condition, and send an official letter and paid them back whatever they want. It was totally opposed by the previous BN government who handled this matter differently but still the PH government continued paying them despite the terrorist attacks and murdering of Malaysian civilians happened. This is where the Malaysian sovereignty became a big question mark.
Right after PH government agreed to do whatever they want, this so called Sultan Sulu started demanding USD 14 billion from Malaysia as compensation. Malaysian government totally ignored that. And then BN government came into power but the Sultan Sulu keep whining and were demanding for the compensation.
Since ignored many times, the Sultan Sulu brought the case to UK court using some Spanish Lawyers. And they won few months back, eventhough Malaysian government never called for hearing. Now this Sultan Sulu using the same Spanish Lawyers, he seized Petronas's assets in Luxembourg and Azerbaijan.
Did you see what happened here? The PH government allowed the so called Sultan Sulu to demand whatever he wants, which made him he's right and Malaysian government were wrong at the international court for not paying him whatever he were asking for eventhough he made terrorist attacks and killed civilians back in 2013 at Lahad Datu.
This has gave the so called Sultan Sulu to have his advantage to go even further. And yeah here we are right now, watching our national assets being seized just like that.
Now at the parliament, the one shouting and trying to be hero is the same PH government who governed Malaysian back in 2018/2019 who caused all these problems. The same Sabah MPs from PH were quite when PH government and the Attorney General made the decision to give whatever the Sultan asked for but they're the one shouting and screaming and trying to be heroes. This is what we call Malaysian opposition leaders' dirty and shameful politics in a nutshell.
