Test note: Distribution of torque to the front and rear wheels changes automatically, depending on road conditions encountered. If the wheels slip too much, the Nissan Rogue will engage the AWD Lock Mode automatically, no need to press on the button. As we filmed more and more take, the Nissan Rogue AWD was less efficient. The oil temperature of the powertrain parts increases since the vehicle is continuously operated under conditions where the difference in rotation between the front and rear wheels is significant (wheel slip), such as when driving the car on rough roads, through sand or mud, or freeing a stuck vehicle. In these cases, the master warning light illuminates, and the AWD mode changes to 2WD to protect the powertrain parts. Since this was not a press car, we decided to be gentle with it.

My 2018 Rogue has 100,000 km on it now. Driven in rural Ontario and a fair amount of trails and mild off road (farm, camping off site, exploring, etc) and I haven't ever had any problems with the height or AWD. My friends Colorado does better, obviously. My wife's Subaru Outback performs better on slippery roads, but I've never been disappointed with my Rogue. Thanks for the video.

This car is not meant for serious off roading. This is a crossover not a Jeep Grand Cherokee! These cars are great for snowy or icy conditions! I have a Audi A4 Quattro and I’ve rented a 2019 Nissan Rogue for a road trip up North and it was snowing heavily at the time. The Quattro and the SymmetricalAWD by Subaru are the best AWD systems out there hands down! And I don’t care what anyone says the Rogue handles the snow just as good if not better then my Audi A4 Quattro! And as a matter of fact we just recently bought a 2020 Rogue because we loved it so much from renting it last year. Great car the rogue!!

Make no mistake, Nissan Rogue's "AWD" is no match for true 4x4. 4x4 High or Low when selected in a 4x4 vehicle system remains locked providing more secure footing on slippery surfaces 100% of the time, accelerating, turning, up, down hills etc. When in "AWD Lock" Nissan's system kicks out every time a certain speed is reached (22mph?) or time/distance is reached. AWD Lock cannot be engaged while the vehicle is moving either. The best thing about Nissan's AWD, when in "Normal" mode is power is 50/50 F/R when accelerating from a stop every time, gradually shifting to FWD as speed increases.

I have an AWD rogue 2017 with 55 000km. I get around 7l/100km on highway and no tech pb, no cabin noise, nothing at all so far. Did some mild offroad during a roadtrip to Utah (i.e. Hurrah Pass) and it worked really well. Everything I've thrown at it from emergency lane changes at 70MPH and being run off the highway onto a soft shoulder by a semi at 65MPH on road. Off I've had it in snow deep enough to nearly bottom out and it performed flawlessly. On road after stepping out of a sport sedan I couldn't ask for anything more out of a 20K SUV. I'll be buying another for sure. I've lost Saab, Suzuki, and Isuzu as my favorite brands I've been very happy with how my Rogue has filled the gap.
