    We recently bought a second-hand 2016 Nissan e-NV200 7 seater, and we just love it! 7 seats means we can haul 7 people around if needed, then the way the seats fold up means there's a van-load of storage if we need to transport cargo.

    Great real world review guys. Thank you. I’ve test driven the Env200 combi and a Kia E-Niro. The E-Niro’s cockpit is like a spaceship in comparison but it’s a small vehicle with great range. Whereas you can load up the Env200. I think a 62KW battery in the Env200 would tip the balance for some buyers. Also the electric window control cluster in the Nissan poked the side of my right leg.

    My e-nv200 have now 199k km 62 month of ownership. 80% capasaty left.
    Right front bearing need to be replaced. Not bad.
    I wish I had the 40 kWh, but with the model 3 as a daily driver I had to wait to replace my van.

    Its Good to see you guys back making videos (but dont be too kind to the manufacturers.. criticise were criticism is due). Have you noticed that Rich in Hull has dropped his 40kwh eNV200 Adventures you tube channel after giving up on Nissan due to Rapidgate? I still have my 24kwh Combi as a 2nd local runabout car (but with only 3kw max charging rate Rapidgate doesnt affect me). I wouldnt even consider buying a new Nissan EV now, they seem to have completely lost their direction.

    Its probably the only EV thats affordableish for big families or a tradesman with a family could manage with. Would also be fantastic for throwing bikes/camping gear or surfboards in the back at the weekend. Really needs more range though, 150ish a charge would be enough. Good review, had to smile when Kate thought it would be useful while you have to cart the pushchair around for a couple of years!! My god just wait and see how much you have to shift around with then. You'll need a Cybertruck lol.

    We bought a 24kWh Leaf as our main family car and it's been working brilliantly for the past 17 months. But we still keep a Citroen C8 people carrier for the (increasingly rare) full family trips out and towing a trailer. This would really fill the gap if we could afford a second EV!

    Come on Nissan! Bring it to the USA! Nissan could beat Tesla to the punch. And I own shares in Tesla. Unfortunately their plate is full. As others have said, arm rests, a stronger battery and it will stand alone. So many trades workers, delivery workers, home makers, campers will LOVE this car. It's not like Nissan has anything to lose, we can all hear the death rattle. And you guys said it, the Leaf has the goods, just make them available to this platform.

    This thing would be great if someone at Nissan actually loved it a little. Tart up the interior to make it a bit more car-like, give it the bigger battery as an option, and this has to sell well. It's on its own in the market at the moment. Why Nissan aren't giving it a push is beyond me.

    Always like a van. We hired the ice version of this in Sicily last year and I have to say the ride was shocking. However so are the roads in Sicily and it was a hire car which clearly.needed some TLC. I reckon on good roads this car/van would work a treat. Love the florence wave at the end btw. I think its time to admit to loving the tesla and just keep it now? Grest video as always....

    If this car could do 250 miles on the motorway and rapid charge to 80% in less then an hour I would already have one and would have built it into a campavan, as things stand now, my only real option is an ice MVP but every time we use it I feel bad for contributing to emissions. It’s shocking how far benign electric vans are!

    Is the car noisy on the inside while driving? How does charging work? Here in Sweden we have mostly Type 2 chargers and not so many chademo. Would i be able to get a range of 200km in one charge? Are the two seats in the back removable completely if necessary?

Personally due to the total lack of new development on Nissans bevs using really old tech even on the 2019 year leaf and of course that env shows how poorly Nissan has become. Factor in the huge disappointment of their customer support not to mention some of the dealers I haven't recommended any vehicle Nissan makes ice, bev etc. Very sad as I've been a huge fan of this company (I've had seven Nissans to date) how the mighty have fallen :(. You fail to recognise that they actually developed the Leaf hugely in 9 years - battery size, range, power, comfort, safety all has evolved quite nicely - and the prices just keep dropping.

    • @FancyaBevMate
      @FancyaBevMate 4 роки тому +1

      @@badchefi This video is regarding a new vehicle, and you're wrong on a few points none of which your points are relevant to what I posted. Maybe you should read before making yourself look a bit silly. As for it developing hugely I have the 40kWh leaf and the efficiency of the vehicle hasn't changed hugely in fact its marginally better as for the prices they have risen by £5,000 since launch. The original leaf was ground breaking the new vehicle was at launch criticised due to it being an evolutionary design (in fact I actually mentioned this on my channel) and not moving the game forward. Ten years is a long time for manufacturers, its actually two new models that means ground up new. Factor in Nissans epically bad customer service and well there you go. Cheers

    • @badchefi
      @badchefi 4 роки тому

      Fancy a Bev Mate? You don’t account for inflation - the pound buys a lot less than back in 2010.
      You seem to miss the fact that developing a electric vehicle from scratch costs billions and in the last ten years Nissan could simply not afford another two new models that don’t make money in the short term.
      I am also pretty sure that you love your Leaf and that it is the best car you ever owned - go on admit it🤣

      thesmallrougeone: Should not experience Rapidgate problems as the 40kWh battery in all the eNV200 models has active thermal management, unlike all the LEAF models which have none.
      Makes it even more idiotic that Nissan still have failed to produce any LEAF with it even after all the criticism and the likely adverse effect on sales. If they’re worried about the effect on the LEAF list price, they could produce 2 versions - one without active cooling, for owners who rarely need to rapid charge more than once per journey, and one with cooling for those who need to make more frequent longer journeys involving 2 or more rapid charges. This would negate the need for the software update which allows faster charge rates but at the expense of higher battery temperatures and consequent shorter battery life.

    • @thesmallrougeone
      @thesmallrougeone 4 роки тому

      I believe the active thermal management is nothing more than a small fan that circulates ambient air around the battery pack compartment. I've also heard that charge throttling is worse than the current 40kWh LEAF because Nissan haven't released the software update to the eNV200 🤷‍♂️
      Just asking the question in case the newer 40kWh eNV200 has benefited from an update during manufacture.

    • @ianmathieson65
      @ianmathieson65 4 роки тому

      thesmallrougeone: You’ve made some interesting comments whose veracity is beyond my experience. It would be extremely useful if any owners of the newest 40kWh eNV200 could comment on battery temperature during charging and any resulting charge rate limiting, and could report which version of the software is installed in their vehicle. Any takers out there?

    • @kiteless1
      @kiteless1 4 роки тому

      Ian Mathieson there was an owner of a 40kwh env200 making videos and despite the active cooling got slower and slower charges on long trips. Was never clear if this was a problem specific to his or all 40kwh ones - he was trying to reject it and take legal action. I’m guessing he came to some agreement with Nissan if he took the content down.

    • @ianmathieson65

    The front seats look the same as our 1st generation Leaf, at least in terms of colour and material. From the way you are both moving around, the ride seems rather poor in the front also. If the range wasn't so limiting, it would be a great car for camping as it would easily accommodate a tent and loads of equipment.

      The UK is the only country in the world that has the snobby attitude of Kate " but it's a van " In Europe where the car is an essential member of the family, these types of vehicles are recognised for what they contribute to the family and not ignored because they LOOK LIKE A VAN. They can be used as a family car, a work horse for the working person of the family, as a taxi for the family, picnic van for the family at weekend and take the whole family out to annual holiday places, just to mention a few uses. James has his head screwed on a lot better than Kate and her snobbish opinions, of it's a VAN, how many times did she mention it's a VAN? Graham I think it’s just expressed opinion. While I drive one myself, even if mine is 5 seater, no one is calling it a car, because it’s also classed as a van (mine is N1, because mine is a panel van and has middle row seats thrown in). Also Kate gave her valid reasons why. I used to be hotel manager in Lithuania and I truly hated that part of my job, where you need to attend somewhere and then borrow car from my friends, because I didn’t need that ‘kind of car’ for myself, but I needed to look more professional due to my position. in the regular days, I was walking or cycling to work though

    Again another review of this vehicle with no mention of the adverse effect of multiple rapid charges on the long distance capability of this vehicle ? This was very well documented by one of the early adopters of this vehicle who in the end was forced to go back to ICE. Leaving the elephant in the room is not the best.

    Great review, I've got the 24kWh model which has been a good base for a campervan conversion. Totally agree that an arm rest would be nice! I've been on lots long trips with mine, very capable and reliable van. Interesting to see your 40kWh model with a type-1 socket, all other 40kWh env200's I've seen have had a type-2 socket. Here's a video of my env200 campervan conversion ua-cam.com/video/wmeFmO9miXg/v-deo.html

    Is the 2nd row middle seat actually a seat? Can it sit an adult or a child in a high-back booster seat? If not, it CANNOT be classified as a seat!!!
    All seats MUST be equal size otherwise they legally CANNOT be classified as a seat!!!!

    • @peterjackson6228
      @peterjackson6228 4 роки тому

      @Steve Davis The middle row seats, can you get three child seats into each seat? Can three adults sit individually in each seat?
      The point I'm trying to make is that the middle row seat is far smaller than the two outer seats, thus this isn't a seat at all. Try putting three baby/toddler car seats in the middle row, I bet they won't fit. And this is my issue. It is actually a 6 seater not a 7 seater

    Still not enough battery/range to make it ‘viable’ IMHO...

      I think you expecting too much from a van, even delivery vans (DHL, PDP, Post Office) averaging 50 miles daily. Even mine, 2015, with 24kWh battery, can do that, daily

      @cloggsy1971 4 роки тому

      ev_nero Still not enough for a 7-seat ‘family car’ IMHO. Like you said, the 62kw+ battery would be much better; 150/180 mile range?

      Cloggsy it’s people carrier, not a family car :) it’s also classed as a van :)

    : bottle of water doesn't fit in the glove box - there is a drawer under drivers seat, fits 4 0.5l easily 😊 it has shocks at the back as well, not just leaf springs 😊 agree on A pillars - they're massive blindspot, especially if someone came from regular vehicle with normal A pillars; mirror on the sunvisers - I have sticked aftermarket one, £0.99 on eBay, does the job, very easy to remove 😊; armrest, I missed that as well, 3rd party one costs £20 online, don't need screws, or anything, it fits to cupholders - right behind handbrake; while 62kWh Leaf peaked at 100kWh - it needs to be software unlocked to accept anything 50kW+, and also have 50kW+ station, there's none even in Norway 🙁; seats - comfy, especially on long journeys, very hard wearing, and you both know mileage I've done in mine; when it comes to tech, yes, you miss a lot, but at the same time, you realise how much of that techy stuff you don't really need, and you can just focus and driving and utility of the vehicle. It's shame we need to sell ours, we wouldn't, but we like long journeys, and 24kWh one, with 5 year old on board - painful experience at times. If they would offer 62kWh battery replacement without replacing the vehicle itself - we sure would think about it, rather than jump into other EV. Not being sentimental, just looking long term
