Loving the story, how successful women fall for abusive men, often missing the red flags

This was an awesome story! Mental abuse is real! I am glad she finally came to her senses.

I know this is just a novel. But things like this actually happen in real life. I am 57 and in a relationship with a 62 yr man. Fortunately it wasn't about money but total emotional and physical control. I am a very strong woman in my own right. He reduced me to a total mess. Suddenly one day I just woke up and walked away with my head held high. I still ask myself what was wrong with me to let someone treat me like a nobody.

Oh my goodness! Red Flags everywhere! I’m only (almost) 1/2 way, and inside I’m screaming at her. How on earth can she not see?!?! I’m already scared for her, terribly afraid. I’ve never been in a toxic relationship, but I’ve seen plenty of the broken wrecks of others.

This is a completely unbelievable plot. How a successful, kind, and beautiful 44 years old woman would put up with someone who abused her like that and stayed with him even for a year after ignoring all the red flags because he was charming sometimes and she loved him? Really?

It's believable. All of us are fragile in some way.

Although some women may be easily taken in, but Hope is a silly character for someone who has previously shown strength. Not realistic characters.

How does she not see how possessive Finn is by now? Take an intimate partner violence class, Hope, and get a clue.

And Never go back they DO Not Change . I married @ 17 had dated him a yr , 3 mos into the marriage we got intoo a argument, never had any while dating. It ended by him hitting me harde a cross the head, I sad you better have enjoyed that because you will not have a change to do it again , slept on the couch tha night call my Dad the next to come and get me, the only thing bad about this I had been to my Dr days before and found I was Pregnant, which had been the source of the argument. I left and Never looked, Raised my baby boy, had a good job, 3 yrs later met and married a wonderful man , lost him after 37 yrs marriage. Miss him very much:

Avoid the fast going love, demanding, manipulative, hypnotising and mind twisting...,,,stop,assess,take a U TURN, and run!!!!

But how on earth is an independent 44 year old woman ignoring all these red flags? The first one was to email her and then show up at her doorstep without warning. I'm 55 and can never fall for these red flags because I've learned that lessons. Do not ignore RED flags!
