A frequent LCA feature for more then ten years, the Kernel Report provides an up-to-the-minute look at what the Linux kernel community is up to and the challenges it faces in the near future. Attendees will come away with a clear picture of what the kernel developers are up to and why it matters.
This man is Kernel Report Man, and he's one of my favorites to listen to
Great talk and speaker, very clearly and well spoken talk.
Very good presentation!
Good talk!
The Android kernel is 250,000 patches behind the mainline kernel?!!!! That is criminally negligent and it really shows what an insecure dumpster fire mobile really is. I assume that Ubuntu touch stays much closer to current and could be an adoption motivator for security conscious people.
I'd never thought that Intel contributed more LOC to the kernel than, for example, Red Hat. And Google, despite being effectively completely Linux-based, contribute comparatively little. I wonder why?
Where can I learn more about this legal action discussion? Because as he says himself, clearly the intent in the choice of license was to not be permissive.
Great talk !
More educators, journalist skills are needed to context these stories. Volunteers?
