Do ones with rookie points and goals
Very cool! Three observations: 1 Great legends like Glenn Hall, Sawchuck or Plant would be closer or above Roy and Brodeur in 80 games/season era. Fleury is great, but in my mind, he is no way close from Rogatien Vachon or Esposito.
2) « Quebec force ! » Between 1990 and 2010 it s crazy with Brodeur, Fleury, Luongo, Theodore, Potvin because of the astonishing performance in the 1986 run for the Stanley Cup. ( We had the Finnish invasion after that with Kiprusoff, Rinne and Rask)
3) Brodeur domination is even more impressive knowing the best offensive player he played with was Patrick Elias. New Jersey and Lemaire changed the game for 20 years with a collective and defensive system who rely on a great goalie.( And NHL, sadly changed the rule for puck control by goaltenders behind the net because of his domination) Knowing that, Buffalo Sabres with Hasek should have dominate more with great coaching.
Two thumbs up for goaltenders who sacrifice their body to stop 100 miles/hour shot and face the weight of defeat after a bad goal or a random bounce while many players around them played bad but nobody cares.
