It did. many times I would be down for a couple days after working goats, my knees and back can't take that squatting anymore. This was so much better, having them at waist height. Appreciate you stopping by Sir!
Awesome chute. I sent the link to this video to my daughter. They've only got 3 goats at the moment but something like this would be great for them. Makes working with the goats much easier. Thanks for sharing.Take care
Hi Lady B! I have a stand that we use for my son's show goats that would be a better option for only 3 goats. I'll do a video of that one in the soon time. It is smaller and actually holds the head down, but would be easy enough to make a head holder like a milk stand for those. The reason I don't use it for my herd, well 2 reasons, too many goats and it does not have side rails to guide...my goats aren't so tame, so getting them to hop up on a stand is darn near impossible. It would probably lead to injuries for either us or the animals. But for 3 tame goats, would be perfect, as it is like for my son's 2 show goats. Thanks for stopping and watching, appreciate you!
Wonderful addition both for the goats and especially to make your jobs much easier. Ok, I have to say I was waiting for you to scrape the rust and put a nice new coat of paint on it . However, considering the number of goats you tend, I understand why you would test it out immediately!
Perhaps in the fall, I'll get it all sanded down and repainted. We had some goats that needed feet attention and was going to have to do that anyway, so when this came available, it was just awesome timing. Thanks so much for stopping by and watching! Appreciate ya!
Sure has made life easier undoubtedly. No more bending over, makes it almost enjoyable now to work the goats, lol. Thanks for watching and stopping by.
Boy that chute looks like it makes life a lot easier. Lol. We’re going to be doing a hoof trimming video in the next day or two. With a couple people and no chute. It can get interesting. Lol. You’ve gotta real nice set up there! I love it!
It has been a life saver for sure. Until we got this, it was a just my wife and I holding goats to work them. It might be good time to mention, most of our goats are not super tame anyway, and when being held, they for sure aren't. This system has made it way easier both on us and the goats. I'll go check your hoof trimming vid out. My apologies for not responding until now, would you believe YT held your comments in spam folder of all places? Thanks for stopping by!
Wow! A spam folder! Lol. In the world were living in, I’m not too surprised. Lol. The kids and I were just talking about needing to trim hooves. But the rain has been crazy here and everything is a mud pit. I think we’re just gonna have to bite the bullet and do it. Lol. I’ve gotta couple boer does that aren’t real tame. They’re gonna be a treat. Lol. I’ll be looking into building a chute after seeing yours.
Very cool on having Nubians! With that many do you market the milk or sell milk products like soap and things? We've now had this chute system for several months and oh my! It has saved the back and knees. Thanks so much for stopping by and watching.
This is super cool your just like me am buying cheap used equipment just to save money and be profitable faster. How much was this handling system if you don’t mind me asking.
New subscriber here. I raise Kikos and Nigerian dwarfs. I can buy the headgate but plan to build my own chute and ramp. does your system have a recess for the scales? Thanks enjoy your vids
Hahha! That silly goat! She got under the tripod and started sniffing, then lifted up and it got stuck on her horns and off she went! The first goat in the chute was the one that did the "b-roll" footage, haha. Thanks for stopping by Brad, appreciate ya!
For flies, I spray permethrin on the goats and around the barn yard area. Only if ticks are real bad, I'll use Ivermectin. I like to use Ivormetic as a pour on instead of an injectable.
About 300 feet. The first goat you see go in the chute walked under the tripod and got it all caught up on her horns and shoulders. she let out a war hoop and started running, haha! Thanks for stopping by and watching, appreciate ya!
“Normally not talk over supper, because you know.... reasons” 😂😂😂😂. Looks like a great piece of equipment, and a dinner saver!!! Lol
It was a dinner saver for sure, hahaha! Thanks for watching, appreciate ya Sir!
.....Looks like that made your life a lot easier. .....Thanks for sharing. ...

I like the chute. How many goats do y’all have?
Thanks! 25 or so breeding age, 45ish total. Appreciate ya stopping by.
What scale do you have and where did it come from? Thanks
It's the VS-660 scale from A&A scales.
@@StoneyCreekHeritageFarm Thank you.
What product are you using for flys and ticks if you don’t mind me asking?
For flies, I spray permethrin on the goats and around the barn yard area. Only if ticks are real bad, I'll use Ivermectin. I like to use Ivormetic as a pour on instead of an injectable.
Great video how tall is that please?
I'll measure it tomorrow and let you know. Thanks for watching, appreciate ya.
Measured it this evening while I was out there, 26 inches from the ground to the platform the goats stand on.
Ahahahaa ... how long did it take to run down your camera?
About 300 feet. The first goat you see go in the chute walked under the tripod and got it all caught up on her horns and shoulders. she let out a war hoop and started running, haha! Thanks for stopping by and watching, appreciate ya!
