@@spacedoge3508 usually systems fail at a single point which leaves you with 95% of a fully functional system sitting in a place like mars completely useless. Predicting that point of failure is often impossible so one system like this could have something like a mars rover last 80 years instead of 8 years with only a few kilos of welding wire sent with it from Earth. The issue is one system like this would only become worth it if it maintained multiple systems or rovers in an accessible area. Something plausible down the line but not currently. The truth is there will be machines like this on other planets before there are mining and refining facilities for metal, and these systems already being present is one of the reasons those mines will be built
@@domesday1535 These are not welding wires, it's metal dust pushed in and heated/radiated with laser beam in neutral gas shielding. whole diffrent technology here. It's similar to SLS 3D printing but much more sophisticated. And it's hundreds times easier to get metal dust, anywhere.
So this machine is using Directed energy deposition - DED -as 3D Printing method yes? and 5 axis CNC miling machine combined in a hybrid product, is that correct? What are the cost for one of these machines ? 300.000+ Dollars?
LOL There is only 4 seconds of animation! 0:14 - 0:17 It is easy to see that everything is real. This is all the more true if you have welded or worked with robots to ANY degree. It is easily possible. The hardest thing about the process is programming the robot to move properly in patterns without bumping into another part of the build, overheating the part, or outright melting the part by welding on 1 place too long.
Perhaps a slight, similar charge on nozzle and powder to keep the powder away from the inside wall, and an opposite charge on the workpiece to attract the stream of powder.
welding gas amps /volts/ travel speed how fast metal is fed to work/also type of gas/ pressure of gas all this comes into play here but don't let this fool you the damd nozzle will get clogged up after some time of use /either clean or change that's all

So we get ether video or sound. Not both.
Lol
Maybe they used copyrighted music and muted it instead or reuploading.
This is the kind of thing you send on a one way mars colonizing mission.
unfortunately 6 axis mills are pretty large
Shayn Webb who cares. You can build half the other crap that you wouldn’t be able to bring because of the weight.
@@Mad.Man.Marine you would need a mining facility and a refinery too

Thank you for sharing this method of making a product! Very useful the tool combination and wide variety of producing!
Its something satisfying to watch it work!!!
the best part was the commentary....i kept hearing, "I effed u up the ****"
I fucking love Germany.
Poland*
after 3:47... only sound... no screen what's up?
Me gusta tu video
this is very cool, thank you for filming and uploading.
how is? versus normal miling? what improvemnt have? Except more flexibility on deasing like make round corner for better flow.
Why was the last shot CG instead of the finished item?
0:55 why 3d animation instead of the real video?
Very impressive.
Amazing combination of EBAM and CNC !

Amazing! How big laser power is?
Great design!
Out of this world
Is there one in space yet? Or the moon? If not there should be.
It is not clear to me why we should use the expensive method of producing laminated parts when we have cheap options for composite production ???
I was just wondering if you need WDR camera for monitoring process? if so, we would be happy to offer great solution with our technology
The ending made me think I lost power.
Very efficient
Printing to milling without baking... nice 😬
Crazy useful stuff !
This principle is really cool.
they might have just changed the way the world makes parts
It is an animation, it is not possible
some of it is some of it isnt
some of it "IS" some of it "ISN'T". you can tell whats CGI and what isnt

I see you something of upcoming tech in this field !
Quality/price? It is innovative anyway.
@Russian Tanker haha i bet wayyy more than that
he forgot a „0“
How to resolve powder clogging inside nozzle? what may be the possible causes?

ahhhh cold welding smart
residual stresses?
I think the people who built the equipment will have a good understanding of the issues.
heat treatment afterwards
but ofcourse!
@@nobilismaximus and proberbly have enough solution to it
How much is it? This is the shit when it comes to metal 3d printing/ cnc machine .
Looks like a lot of splatter on the part from the metal spray.
Это гидродинамическое горячие напылееие. Не так ли?
Its not 3d printing and 5 axis machining. Its additive and subtractive machining. Probably more like 3+2 machining
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this machine is available outside to do projects in India ?
Where can i buy one please and how much? Cheers.
this machine is the stuff of my wet dreams!!! lmao tmi AND its 2 years old!!!!!
Any updates?
