This album is the reason my daughter is called Trinseca. My family have followed the yetties for years. I miss seeing them greatly, I’m lucky enough to have all their albums and DVDs and my children are in their last DVD made in Swanage, ‘helping’ perform ‘Rabbit’. Since naming my daughter Trinseca, we have found out our ancestors are from Ryme Intrinseca and have visited their graves in Ryme, so it makes her name even more perfect.
Moved from Dorchester to Brighton when I was 3 in 1961. Whenever I come back I still refer to it as going down home. All my extended family still live around Broadmayne,Dorchester,Martinstown and Godmanstone. Best County in the country.
I bought a LP of this group in 1978 in Cornwall , unfortunately it was broken in a car crash ... i remember 2 titles : 7 golden daffodils ... the fair maids of Portsmouth ( with bowed psaltry )..
Blast from the past, my dad had a cassette in his car mid 1970s love this whole album remember singing along , sang along to this and got surprised looks from my wife , she was wondering how I knew the lyrics as we hadn't sung any in the 28 years of our marriage :)
Since so many folks post about how they found things, I'll have to say I'm American and during the reading of David Mitchell's book The Bone Clocks, I had to look up a reference to the Invasion of the Wurzels and learned of the genre "Scrumpy and Western," which led me here. Lovely stuff. Thanks for posting the video!
I think my Dad produced and engineered or maybe just one or the other this album -Kevin Daly It was great being a little kid in the Decca Studios watching the yets making their albums! Mac-Bonnie-Pete....&, Big Bob! Big Up!!!
Proud owner of The Ywtties Keep a'runnin LP on vinyl, found in a charity shop 30 years ago - side 2 has South Australia, Take Your Time & Corpus Christie Carol, 3 recordings on a par with anything, anywhere. If I knew how to upload them, I would - they really should be more widely known.
I found a vinyl copy of this album in a charity shop in Sherborne and had to stuff it up my coat so I could bicycle home with it. What an important collection of songs! Great to here them all...
TONY gould .i have it on a cassette ! Somewhere under the bed, recorded from radio 2 in the eighties.it was sung to them by Walt Watts on old ww1 veteran who lived my grans family for many many years,a real character, cheers
The first one I know as 'An English Country Garden' but I don't know if this is its proper name. The last one is 'D'ye ken John Peel' I think. The ones in the middle are familiar but I can't name them.
The second tune is 'The Lincolnshire Poacher', the third 'Brigg Fair', the fourth 'Helston Floral Dance' and I think the fifth is 'Among the leaves so green', not sure about that one, thouogh.

Pete let me have a go on his Bowed Psaltry one evening, I was flabbergasted and scared to touch it in case I damaged it!
Someone have bread and fishes etc.? I'd kill for a listen of that!

For some reason I was singing the title song to myself last week as I weeded the garden, and I'm from Ampsure not Darset!
Barry PURKIS whereabouts in Ampshure (Hampshire)? I’m Hampshire-born, Dorset-bred 😀

Who downvotes this?
Someone else asked that but I can’t see any downvotes tbh
Just found this in a charity shop. Bought it on the strength of the cover alone. Looking forward to hearing some absolute bangers.
Have had some beauties doing that, love it
How is it for you?

Graeme Ford Exactly the same story here minus the coat and bicycle!
Found a copy in a charity shop in Yate back in August. I carried it home on the bus in a carrier bag!
Bonnie used to keep LP’s that he came across to sell on, if you’re looking for anything it’s worth asking him
Hope you paid for it before stuffing it up your jumper.
Good question! You take as long as the Police! I did indeed pay for the album, and worth it. @@BadgerBotherer1

I remember the Yetties well, they came to Barnsley several times, always a good evening. Great to hear them again.

Mike Harding was there nearly every month
Really not quite sure how anyone could downvote this.

fab! Long shot but does anyone know the names of the tunes in the first track?

The fifth is called 'the keeper', among the leaves so green-o is the refrain.
