Jeff's no-bull$hit midwest reviews of Vegas are always appreciated. I get tired of the overhyped Vegas places that are not worth the 10x price tags of reality.
I don’t know why everybody keeps complaining about the bathroom. It does its job you don’t sleep in there you don’t live in there you just take care of business in there and you go out. Concerning the pool I think the pool is a decent size and a lot of people don’t really use the pool in my opinion. I think New York, New York is a great hotel and casino to stay at.
GREAT review, Great video quality, and VERY reasonable food prices at the pool as well. I agree, a BATHROOM with a SOAKING tub is a must for me. Mandalay Bay knocks it out of the park for MGM properties. Thanks for another excellent vlog!
Glad to hear the rooms have been revamped... I'm going to be staying in a Soho Premier 2Q room (hopefully they are still just as nice as when you recorded this one). I'm looking forward to actually spending some time at the NYNY. Thanks for all your great hotel/casino overviews.
My wife and I went to Vegas for our first time a few weeks ago. We stayed in the Tower rooms at the Luxor and had a good time there. But as soon as we walked into NY NY, we just knew that when we came back we would stay there. This review really seemed to highlight all the good things we thought about the hotel. Thanks for all the info!
On my most recent trip I ate at Gallaghers twice and Il Fornaio once. Gallaghers was excellent and Il Fornaio is a definite sleeper of an Italian restaurant. I highly recommend the prime rib at Gallaghers and the fried calamari at Il Fornaio.
It's not super fancy or anything but is a very solid place to stay in a good location. I always liked the vibe and design of the casino there it has kind of a cozy, late night vibe to it that is consistent with the theme. It also has a lot of tasty, reasonably priced places to eat. It's also good for families or a first time Vegas trip if you just want a medium priced place to stay in a prime location. The size of the place too works for me. It is not too big or small and you can wander around the casino and usually still find your friends without having to text them like at MGM or somewhere of that size.
I tried America and had the prime rib special for about $23, very good meal. Never stayed there but the hotel has a fun vibe. Great informative videos, thank you.
Thanks for the video! Always loved the NYNY vibe myself! All the upgrades to the room look great. I like how Tom’s is a sports bar now because that Sportsbook is tiny 😆
Thanks for the video. I was hoping I would catch a recent NYNY review. My wife and I are staying there later this month for the Duran Duran concert. Bonus. Video was made by a fellow Show Me Stater. Thanks again.
I've always been tempted to get a sandwich at Greenberg & Sons deli. I think you just put me over the edge. I'm in Vegas next month and that will be a must-stop lunch stop! Thanks for the video!
Great video on NyNy. We used to stay at the grand on comps and a host reached out to us Anitra and we stayed there this April and wow great remodel since we last stayed. Yes bathrooms need help still but everything else in our Marquis suite was great. Pool bit small but then we just buy two chairs at the grand and make a day of it. Fridge a huge plus. Love the restaurants too. If u want a good host -reach out to Anitra. 🇨🇦
I haven't stayed here yet thinking about this or Park MGM. Glad to see it has been renovated. As far as the bathroom really6 how much time are you going to be in the bathroom. All you really need in there is a shower and a toilet. The sportsbook is small but it is still one of my favorites.
Great job on explaining the pros and cons of New York New York I stayed there 8 years ago and I hated the pool will go and visit the property next month ❤
Great review. Overall a great hotel. I stayed there and i don’t kind a small bathroom (Sahara/Harrahs) but man…. Change the sink to something fun and add a sleek shower. Also nice backpack
We were there in Vegas when you we there filming recently. Thanks for sharing your experience at New York New York. I would consider staying there after the remodel, but in a suite. I did want to mention when we were there we went to Strip Steak in Mandalay Bay, and it was terrible! We asked for the steak to be sliced and it came cut in half. Who does that?! Also, the food was cold and it was not good. I was so looking forward to it. In New York New York, Chin Chin and Il Fornaio are my favorites.❤✈️
I went to that happy hour bar. Best value for drinks. I got a few vodkas and OJs and the batman was free pouring the vodka. I was Fkn smashed off 4 drinks. Excellent barman.
Great update. Was there in January so missed out on the new rooms. One other pro I would say is the location. Can go south to lower cost resorts, east across to the MGM, north to Park MGM and Aria, Cosmo, and East from Park MGM over to PH.
I LOVE WHEN YOU SHOW OFF MY FAVORITE HOTEL IN VEGAS YEEEEESSSSS. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT NEW YORK NEW YORK THAT I DON'T LIKE 😆. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS EXCITING TO WATCH VIDEO, KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼😁
I stayed there about 3(?) years ago, don't remember which h tower, but I loved it! If you did end up going to Nine Fone Irishmen, hope you brought your appetite. I'll be staying at Park MGM in Nov before the Grand Prix
Thanks for this. We are staying at NYNY in October. We couldn't get a comped room at our favorite Bellagio, so we are going to try this one. We always go to the casino on every trip, and always eat at the food area (the deli is amazing). Glad you gave us a heads up about the elevator situation so maybe we won't be confused! After seeing this review, we are excited to stay at NYNY. Also, did you try Chin-Chin? I'm wondering how that restaurant is. Thanks again!
Ate at Gallagher’s a few years back and was VERY underwhelmed, however, the crab cakes are some of the best I’ve had and we usually hit them up twice per stay in town
I'd rather stay at Park MGM for the non-smoking aspect and the fact that the property is less congested. I'd still visit NYNY a few times to hang out, though, because it has a great vibe. Thanks for watching!
Hi Jordan, great review! I am planning a three-day stay in LAS on the weekdays in two weeks. First time MGM stay, so will be starting as a rookie on the Sapphire level. Deciding between NY NY and Park MGM. Seems the food options are a lot more at NY NY. Can food at a different MGM property be charged to my room at a different MGM property? I am trying to rack up as much MGM rewards points as I can while I am there.
Absolutely. NEARLY every food and beverage outlet across all MGM properties can be billed to your room at any other MGM property, and you definitely should do that. Have a great time, and thanks for watching!
I do need to warn you, lots of food outlets at or our outside NY-NY won’t let you room change. I stayed at NY-NY in September- Luke’s Lobster at the Park, Shake Shack and Top Round are all cash or credit card. This is also true at the new food court on the second floor with Capriotti’s, Wing Zone and a pizza place. You can room change to the various MGM properties at the downstairs food court with the deli, Fulton’s Fish Frt and more. Since Park MGM and NY-NY are next to each other, stay at the resort you like the rooms and casino for best. Don’t forget, Park MGM has Eataly and Crack Shack.
Can't believe only 3 weeks il be there I agree with Ur thoughts on nyny I'm staying at parkmgm cos no smoking and easily get to aria or tram to bellagio but also cos I know il eat in nyny I do love deli and burger bar BB is a gem imo I also have them same tickets u got for mad apple the $25 seats can't wait.bit sun be nice too as every day of July was raining here in Ireland madness.might pop into u Jordan if ya in Vegas late aug early sept
Great video, and timely for us! We'll be there in a few weeks to try out those remodeled rooms. Always a good vibe at NYNY. How did you do in the casino? Also, how was drink service while you were playing (fast/slow)?
As mentioned in the video this stay was comped through my MGM Rewards. NYNY is very affordable for a mid-tier Vegas property, though. Thanks for watching!
10:00 if i wasn’t gold (resort fees waived) i would make a huge stink about the computers not being available to print my pass. they’re charging $39 a day for dumb shit they should provide anyway, if one of them isn’t available, you’re *not* going to charge me for it.
Did you have to scan your key card before you selected your floor ? I like the security of having to scan your room key before you can select your floor.
This stay was mid-week and a room key was not required to access your floor; however, I have heard that it is required on the weekends. Can't confirm that, though. Thanks for watching!
Currently doing extensive research on a good choice of hotel for my first visit next year to Las Vegas. I kind of like this hotel . Is it a good first choice ?
damn, 7 rides with dat all day scream myrewards coaster pass! i might try that lol..its like 19 bucks per one ride so defo great reward! hows ur back on that ride?some other utuber said it was PITA on that roller coaster bumpyAF ..plan to stay here at NYNY in the summer of 2024
Actually I rode it 12 times that day. The ride totally depends on where you sit. If you're near the back of the train it's very rough. The front half of the train is fairly smooth. MUCH better than it was years ago before they changed the cars. Thanks for watching!
great video. by chance do you know when the mgm hotel did remodels on hotels? i didnt know they fixed up the rooms in New York New York.. i think park mgm did remodel back in 2016?.. i was at park mgm, excalibur, luxor back in July 2023. excalibur and luxor look like a dump
That's a hard one because they're kind of all constantly remodeling and they do it in phases. NYNY is the most newly remodeled. MGM Grand rooms and Vdara rooms are looking pretty tired. Aria has freshened up their rooms but didn't do a full-scale remodel on the standard ones. All of Bellagio's standard rooms have been completely remodeled in the last two years or are being done now. Cosmopolitan's rooms haven't been remodeled in quite a few years but they're still ok. Excalibur's rooms are completely worn out and weren't any good to begin with. I found Luxor's rooms to be quite nice for the price point.
@@ShowMeVegas THANK YOU! GREAT REPLY. VERY HELPFUL WHEN PEOPLE PICK OUT ROOMS...one of the reason i chose park mgm, they looked freshen up when i booked in July 2023.
I cannot imagine what that warm weather would be like . I have been to Las Vegas once in April . I found the weather even too warm then . Was the pool water even cool enough to refresh you ?
It was 113 degrees all three days of this particularly NYNY stay. The pool water was cool-ish. Vegas heat doesn't typically bother us but I will say this time it was pretty oppressive. Thanks as always for watching!
How was the elevator work? Do you need to use your key or mobile phone to access the elevator downstairs ? Plus the mini refrigerator is a plus to put my meds.
During my stay there was no room key required, although I've heard that the elevators do require them on the weekends. Can't say for sure, though, because this stay was Tue-Wed-Thurs nights. Thanks for watching!
If you book the standard room, there is no refrigerator. However, when you make your reservation or just when you check in, tell them you need the refrigerator for your medication. They will have a refrigerator brought to your room at no cost. I always call to make reservations and have them put that note on my folio.
Depends. When vlogging you've got to be adaptable to the situation so we use a variety. We have a Sony mirrorless camera and a GoPro, but sometimes you've got to just use the old fashioned iPhone. The weaker shots are usually using the front-facing iPhone camera, which doesn't do well in low light.
There’s a room called the Player’s Suite that has two queen beds and there’s also a two bedroom penthouse. But it’s possible those are sold out while you’re there. Orherwise, yes the rest of them only have one bed and have a 3 guest maximum.
I like that you are not compensated in any way by MGM for your reviews. There are several Las Vegas UA-camrs that obviously are paid for their reviews and they do not disclose this fact.
Some are comped but not sure any of them are actually paid - although depending on the value of the comp it could be considered one and the same. On occasion you see a disclaimer about how a UA-camr is working with the hotel on a video, for instance Travel Ruby discloses that in some of her videos. Thanks as always for watching!
I forgot to ask--how was your experience with the elevators? I've read that some people have been facing extremely long waits. Also, I've been kind of torn between booking NYNY vs. Park MGM. Part of me wants to support the non-smoking nature of Park MGM, but the vibe at NYNY honestly seems more fun and has more quick bite options late at night than Park MGM would. And the premier room has a fridge, whereas I might end up having to pay for one extra at Park MGM. Any ideas on how to decide between the two? The comp offers I have are very similar. Thanks!
I had zero waits whatsoever. Never saw any lines, either. If vibe and quick eats are more important, go with NYNY. If you're looking for a laid back atmosphere and/or the non-smoking aspect is important to you, go with Park MGM. The fresh air there is VERY nice. Thanks for watching!
We go 5+ times a year and are never uncomfortable on the strip. As with any big city simply stay aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine. Thanks for watching!
Fulton Fish Fry has the best fish and chips for like 15.00. Good pizzas for 25.. and the deli for sandwiches is FIRE. Also the American Rib eye for 23.00. I always use my free 4 nights at NYNY on any trip to vegas. Also hit my biggest jackpot here ever in vegas, Golden Century by the choc store, for 2600. NYNY is chill/ usually do there and Cosmo for a 7 night Trip. Cosmo comps have gone away thou, used to get a free 3 nights, now only 20% couponis WACK AF COSMO.
Other reviewers have reviewed this renovated room but the mini fridge wasn't there (the space for it was there, but the fridge just wasn't there). Did you need to request it?
The App Store, either Apple or Android. There are multiple games, MyVEGAS, Pop! Slots, MyVEGAS Blackjack, MyKONAMI... Log into them using your Facebook profile and they all earn loyalty points that can be redeemed for rewards. We have a couple of videos on the channel showing some of our rewards.
How would you rank this one now if you repositioned it in your rankings of MGM resorts? You said you’d rate it higher but I’m curious how much. I love that place especially when I get the spa suite. Worth it for the spa in the room, and the location is good. Quick access to south strip with the tram one property over that way, and one property over from the tram that runs from Park to Bellagio to get you center strip pretty fast too. I get why it wouldn’t be number one, and if I’m being objective it wouldn’t be for me either, but it’s still my preference.
Without re-ranking they totally I’d say one or two spots higher. It’s still behind most of them because of the pool and some of the other amenities. Thanks for watching!
When was this? Like every place they reduced their hours during and after the pandemic, but it has been back to being a 24 hour restaurant for quite awhile now.
LOL. The bathroom is your biggest complaint. It is by design. Think of this. Cut off for lack of a better term "vestibule" in the room. Another way of putting it is to picture the area the bed is in as a square. Cram in bedroom, full kitchen, living room AND a bathroom into that spot. They wanted to give you as close to a New York experience as possible, but realized people wouldn't want to pay $3500/month to be in prison. Wait. I think I found the next concept for a themed casino in Vegas.
LOL? I merely said the bathroom wouldn't be ideal for a lot of people. That's, uh, the entire point of a review. Thanks for your analytical breakdown of the layout, though!
I heard you say you saw Zumanity .three times...I saw it twice ...the first time,it was completely nude..the second time only topless,,,What happen? I watched your Caesars buffet video was only interested in the prime rib or meat selections which you passed over...
I love the updated rooms. Plus NYNY is still one of the BEST themed hotels. You can really do a theme wrong, but they nailed it!
Thats carpet is awesome. Fits NY NY very well.
100% agree with everythig you said about NYNY. We love the place! Have stayed there many times. Sirricco's Pizza is a late night favorite!

The NYNY is my favorite hotel. I havnt in Vegas at lease 3 yrs. Iam looking forward to be back in Vegas again
Stayed there in March and totally loved it! The room was clean fresh, the staff friendly, awesome food spots and the casino was fun.
I don’t know why everybody keeps complaining about the bathroom. It does its job you don’t sleep in there you don’t live in there you just take care of business in there and you go out.
The sportsbook at the horseshoe is just a guy at a desk who sits by a kiosk
What camera did you record with ?
Staying here Oct 5th thru 12th. Was told all suites only sleep 3 people. To your knowledge is that correct?
There’s a room called the Player’s Suite that has two queen beds and there’s also a two bedroom penthouse. But it’s possible those are sold out while you’re there. Orherwise, yes the rest of them only have one bed and have a 3 guest maximum.
I like that you are not compensated in any way by MGM for your reviews. There are several Las Vegas UA-camrs that obviously are paid for their reviews and they do not disclose this fact.
Those videos should be demonetized.
Can I ask where u got the backpack ❤ I want one
That was an Amazon purchase all the way! Thanks for watching!
God, your videos make me want to travel to Vegas.
Is the strip fairly “safe”?
We go 5+ times a year and are never uncomfortable on the strip. As with any big city simply stay aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine. Thanks for watching!
Computers always down to print
Fulton Fish Fry has the best fish and chips for like 15.00. Good pizzas for 25.. and the deli for sandwiches is FIRE. Also the American Rib eye for 23.00. I always use my free 4 nights at NYNY on any trip to vegas. Also hit my biggest jackpot here ever in vegas, Golden Century by the choc store, for 2600. NYNY is chill/ usually do there and Cosmo for a 7 night Trip. Cosmo comps have gone away thou, used to get a free 3 nights, now only 20% couponis WACK AF COSMO.
NYNY actually does have a spa but have never visited it.
They have a fitness center but no spa. The NYNY website directs its guests to the spas at Excalibur and MGM Grand…
Gallagers is great and service.. I just don't like there pool otherwise love it now
Other reviewers have reviewed this renovated room but the mini fridge wasn't there (the space for it was there, but the fridge just wasn't there). Did you need to request it?
The "Premier" rooms have the fridge. The standard rooms do not.
If you book a premier room you will get a fridge. This was a Soho Premier King. Thanks for watching!
@@ShowMeVegas Thanks for the clarification!
How do I get the my Vegas reward app?
The App Store, either Apple or Android. There are multiple games, MyVEGAS, Pop! Slots, MyVEGAS Blackjack, MyKONAMI... Log into them using your Facebook profile and they all earn loyalty points that can be redeemed for rewards. We have a couple of videos on the channel showing some of our rewards.
@@ShowMeVegas what do you think is a better property linq vs New York New York
@@danielngabriel NYNY by a landslide.
@@ShowMeVegas why is that?
It's just far nicer. Better rooms by a mile, and a nicer and bigger casino floor. The only thing the Linq has on it is location.
7 times on the High Roller?...😱
Not for me 😄
The Big Apple Coaster! The count wound up higher than 7, but that will be in a future video!
@@ShowMeVegas oops I meant the coaster
We went to have breakfast in American and it was closed. 24hr? Huuum
When was this? Like every place they reduced their hours during and after the pandemic, but it has been back to being a 24 hour restaurant for quite awhile now.
The video would be great if it wasn’t for the rap music
What do you want….. Banjo music?
Anything is better than that rap crap
@@thegair You should make your own video and put in the type of music you want, be your own hero! 😂

I have, thanks
@@ShowMeVegas That joke definitely did not land as intended lol. Keep up the videos! I enjoy using them to plan out my next adventure..
@@the59th88 🫣 🫡 thanks!
Wife and I are staying there next month
is that backpack from resorts world?
You mean did we buy it there? We bought it on Amazon. We've had it for a few months and always take it to Vegas.
I heard you say you saw Zumanity .three times...I saw it twice ...the first time,it was completely nude..the second time only topless,,,What happen? I watched your Caesars buffet video was only interested in the prime rib or meat selections which you passed over...
It’s not that great
Okie dokie.
