I called Yanmar to ask about this .The person on the phone said she would ask the warranty department and they would get back to me . I never heard back from them . FYI they did fix my cracked hood but the dealer gave me the part and I did the repair and returned the old hood.

I should think they would not charge for a factory mandated inspection, seems I read somewhere transportation is covered for warranty work. I would email the factory and ask about the charge.

My warranty paperwork says......"Costs not included under this limited warranty include any costs for transporting any YANMAR part or product from/to a YANMAR authorized dealer."
Yanmar will not pay for the inspection or transportation. Some dealerships might provide free transportation or free inspections. That can be pretty expensive with labor and fuel so i doubt it.

I wouldn't count on them paying any of it. It's probably there
One to protect them on the chance someone tries doing their own service and uses something like 40 weight in the transmission, ya know cause that's what me grandpappy used in his tractors transmission.
And two guaranteeing the dealerships at least some billable hours.
Do I agree with it not a hundred percent, but honestly it's looking more like a way to invalidate and louse out on the warranty in the first place, kinda like they'd build a tractor w a width of 44 inches but putting the seat right at 39 or higher but then punish you if you put spacers on.
And while we're at it I have more faith that Yanmar wouldn't do that to someone over say a green brand.... But you never really know till you've been railroaded.
On that note when you take a car into a dealer even a different brand whatnot they know if you got a note on it or not, so expect treatment as if their job is to actually sell you a new car note. Not to actually service and maintain your vehicle honestly.
Service is a break even department at a dealership.
Kickbacks on loans can go up to the tens of thousands really quick is called dealers reverse and it's perfectly legal, and almost no one knows about it.

That's strange to me for a company to force you to pay for inspection to maintain their so called offered warranty. If a warranty repair is required when the owner is using whatever equipment, machine etc, the company should cover it based on their warranty disclosure, unless they can see and identify and prove abuse, neglect and damage. This kind of goes in line with a company can't force you to use their oil to maintain a warranty.
