This gem has the elements I love in a movie and the reason it will be so unforgettable decades from now. Witty dialogue between likable characters navigating through life without a compass.
I echo the comments below. This is as brilliant a trailer as Licorice Pizza is a movie. Two different art forms, each done to their apex here. Its heartbreaking to see some of the petty, small minded carping in the press and on line about this film. It's a beautiful fantasia. A dream of the '70s in the San Fernano Valley, where anything and everything seemed possible, especially to young people with big dreams.
this is the perfect trailer. i really commend the creators & thinkers behind this, it’s not very often i watch an ad all the way through and then seek it out to watch it again. and again.
Get in there, Licorice Pizza is being shown in more cinemas/Cineworld later on in week. So that more people can see this cool/awesome film. Get in there.
The trailer encompasses all the delicate quiet scenes that are woven into a warm blanket of teenage life as it blooms into adulthood.Making mistakes/finding your identity. Waits and Penn stole the whole show; I want a spin-off of just their characters journeys tbh👏I'm so happy this is now on DVD 📀👩🏽🎤
And I'm back 5 months later because I want whoever edited this trailer to be in charge of the editing for when my life flashes before my eyes right before I die.
@@DominiqueGarofaloit's almost midnight rewatching old trailers because i'm doing a speed run on the tom waits cinematic universe and this is literally a music video as a trailer. still so amazing almost three years later.
I fist saw this movie in mid January. And saw it again two weeks ago. I’m obsessed with it. It’s a nostalgic love letter to the 70’s when I grew up (I was 9 in 1973) and I think I’ve watched this wonderful trailer like 50 times at this point. Some things in the trailer that I believe were cut from the film: 1. When Gary and Alana are on their first date and he tells her he’ll never forget her and she answers “Gross”. 2. I don’t think Alana sticks her tongue out to Gary when she’s on the date with Jack Holden when they’re all three at Tail o’ the Cock. 3. They cut the scene where Alana and Gary and two others are feeding a hose of gasoline to one of their other friends. 4. The scene where Jon Peters crashes the glass out of the car windows.
Your number 4 is in there. It isn't part of the movie proper. It happens during the credit sequence. Also, I didn't recall her walking into a plate glass window.
@@johndalton3180 Thanks! I thought I didn’t remember her walking into the glass. I guess I didn’t stay for the credits to see him smash the car windows.
@@johnboy32064 yeah, for the credits, like in the old Robert Altman movies, the actors name pops up, and you see a couple of short moments of them. The one with Jon Peters I think is the only one that wasn't in the movie. Good eye on the other stuff, though!

Go back and watch a trailer for any movie that came out in the 80s or 90s, back then you didn't even have to see the movie after watching the trailer you had a pretty decent idea what the movie was about nowadays they don't do that they are super mysterious.
I watched the movie, there's a few momentary things in the trailer that I don't remember even being in the movie (like Bradley Cooper's character smashing the car windows). I really enjoyed the movie, I just didn't notice some things that are in the trailer. Also, I saw her say in some interviews about this that her sisters didn't know she was doing the movie? I guess maybe she was joking because if I'm not mistaken ALL of them are in it. Which I think only adds to "the realness" of the movie.
What they did was absolutely unfair. They should have mentioned the release date. It's a crime to keep a masterpiece like this from releasing in theaters. Not cool Universal Pictures India. Not cool at all.
Remember back in the '80s and '90s when a movie trailer would give you a pretty decent idea what the movie was about? Nowadays when I watch previews such as this one, I don't really know what it's about. Is this about licorice pizza the record store? And if so is it about how the licorice pizza franchise started? Or is it about two kids that work there and fell in love? Or is it about two kids that work there and one was an innocent boy and one was a bad girl in la who went into the porn industry and became an addict or something, like I have no idea what this movie is about.

Not really grooming since he full blown comes onto her and for a while keeps an amicable distance from him until she realizes she loves him too and eventually returns the feelings. Though if you hate the idea of them falling in love then this movie is not for you.
