How To 2012 Nissan Altima Self Diagnostic Test

How to start the 2012 Nissan Altima Self Diagnostic Test. Looked all over and couldnt find it online so I decided to make a quick and easy video on this. Im sure it can be found in a forum or in a thread somewhere. Who wants to read that much for something this small, anyways I hope the helps someone.

Thanks for you post! my "service engine soon" light came on recently, i think it was from either going too long without an oil change or low brake fluid. We put brake fluid in & did an oil change and the light stayed on so we ran this diagnosis test and no error code ever showed after going thought it twice (incase i missed the code flash). So I turned the car back on and after driving it around a bit the light turned off. Thanks again!

Hey man, thanks for the upload, I tried it out tonight, my service engine soon light came on. I just got this car...Anyways, I was on my lunch break, didn't have a chance to wait, does it take long for the code to show up? I saw there for like 10mins, no flashing service light and nothing showed up anywhere else on the dash. Any ideas?

2myknowledge, you only have to turn the Nissan on, then 10 times, then off then on!! You don't have to hit the start button so many times. so not 5 times, (just to the on position) then 10 times ,(door button) then turn off then on and your horn will honk.

How long does it take to do the diagnostic? And when can you turn the car after the diagnostic? .

It only takes about 5 minutes. You can restart the car after its done running the diagnostics. Ive never tried starting the car during, so im not sure what would happen, but I would wait till its done just to be safe.
