This is an insult to the Black Lagoon Monster Replica Community
That's why they are a bunch of chooches..
I agree
why? I think is pretty neat vintage figure
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@DanielZamudioUreta agree
I got this as a present a couple years ago. The factory that made this statues is in my hometown (Tijuana MX), and they were disposing tons of this creatures from their archive, my girlfriend worked for them at the time, and she saw how the manager told the cleaning service to cut them in pieces and trash them, she asked for one and bring it home. Best present ever.
wish she could have save them all and bring them all home.
I've been looking for one of these for a while. Would you be interested in selling it? Or can you give me the info on where in TJ? I'm in Ontario California
@@amslim27 not really interested in selling it, was the first gift from my now Wife, sorry. The factory closed in 2022. Mine was the only one that survive the cleanout :(

saw a short documentation about the movie...the original suit wasn't nearly as colourful and they even mentioned that the merchandise never really got the colours right because of marketing and such. The original has a very simple green-greyish colour palette...grey lips, no red spots, no red at all actually and I believe silver eyes. All in all the original looked like an actual humanoid seacreature could look like and this costume looks just cartoonish. Especially the red lips
lol noob,
rick would've bought that for $30 and a pack of gum

I absolutely love this I'm a massive horror fan
Dude is a great fan of the creature and he's dissed by a kid.
If i had the dough, I'd get this classic monster.
"he had to save the girl... which is something that really scared me in those days."
That things fucking cool. Great horror movie.
Riz2336 'horror' it seems so cute now
Riz2336 *"things"*
@@mot5919 creature from the black lagoon is horror. And one of the best. Zip it
He should have got a lot more than $1,900.00 , that is an awesome piece, from a classic film. Bob. G
I got to meet Ricou Browning a few years ago. He didn't say a lot, but he was cordial.
The man was amazing. He was the real Star of the Creature From the Black Lagoon.
The actor in the original costume was Ricou Browning he was a olympic swimmer, And it was released in 1954 in 3D it is a Universal picture a classic monster along with Frankenstein , The Wolfman. Back in the day you would find glow in the dark models of these monsters in many kids rooms.
ricou browning in the water. ben chapman on land.
I own 14 of these.
UGH IT'S JOE why? And how? 😂
Set them up with a bunch of Realdolls and make the strangest video on The Hub
Bullcrap
He should have asked way more for that.
Lacey Noel I would've paid more like $5000.00 for it
Why would you pay 2000$ over retail for it
+Alex Madsen Do it then. Contact the show, and pay $5000.
Thing is, it's a replica. It wasn't a prop or anything from the actual movie. Huge difference in value.
Alex Madsen for real I’ll feel like I’m robbing if i pay 2 grand
I don't like the way Corey disses the actor, Ben Chapman, not knowing anything about the man.
It didn’t really come off as a diss to me, playing most of the original monsters would’ve been miserable, and the Creature would’ve probably been the worst, having to hold your breath for 4+ minutes at a time while swimming around in that heavy suit
@@willo.1931
That was Ricou Browning who did the swimming scenes. Ben Chapman did the land scenes, walking & carrying Ms Adams! 🐉
I agree Corey Harrison thinks he is so cool. This guy got everything handed to him. Personally I would not sell anything to him at all. He has zero personality and treats his customers like crap.
a better career than Corey
A good reason why i dont watch the ripoff show anymore!
I’d give over $2K for it in a heartbeat.
One of the best makeup / creature effects of that era. Ben Chapman played the creature on land, Ricou Browning played the creature in the underwater sequences. 😁👍👍👍👍👍
Ben Chapman took credit for something he didn't create because he was jealous!!! A latina lady from Disney actually created it!!! Ben just wore the suit!!!!
@@mattlawrence1932 Trouble reading? If you are going to comment, at least get your facts straight. For one, where did I say anything about Ben claiming credit for anything? Ben never claimed to have created the costume, nor did he claim credit for the whole of the performance, he always said he played the creature on land in the first movie only, because his 6'5" frame was more impressive in the land shots. Two other actors played the land role in sequels, Ricou Browning played the role under water for all three films. If you want a full run down of the facts. The idea came from producer William Alland who was told a story about a half man swamp creature while on location for another movie, Maurice Zimm wrote the story. Harry Essex and Arthur Ross both worked on the screenplay.
Milicent Patrick was a former Disney illustrator part of the team, she drew the concept, she never created the costume, that was not her role. There were numerous artists involved. A drawing is made from a description by the director vision based on the description of the writers, a sculpture is created from the drawing, a mold is made from the sculpture, the final touches by more artists.
Chris Mueller, was the artist who originally sculpted Gill Man using Millicent’s drawing, Jack Kevan was the costume supervisor who created the costume.
Ben Chapman, along with Chris Mueller stated publicly that Milicent originally drew the concept art for Gill-man. Nether Milicent nor Jack Kevan were given due credit because of makeup artist Bud Westmore.
Bud Westmore was a first-class a-hole, who was notorious for conveniently forgetting the contribution of anyone not in the room when the Hollywood press was asking questions. He failed to mention the contributions of both Milicent and Jack.
Ben Chapman was always the first to correct that misconception in all his interviews. SO again, get your facts straight before besmirching a good man’s name.
Being that Corey lacks any sense of creativity, and imagination, this awesome
life sized Gill man is wasted on him.
Corey is an asshole

I love The Gillman!
The original Shape of Water...
0:41 when you forget your wallet.
The real coustume is like a hour or 2 away from me in Kalamazoo Michigan its at a coustume store and u cant rent it for a little over a 1000 dollars
The original costumes from the film DO NOT EXIST ANYMORE. They were made of Foam Rubber and not made to last. In fact, The base of the costume is a body stocking, and the outer part of the suit were individual pieces that were placed on top of the stocking. in the sequel, a one piece suit was used, but even that wasn't designed to hold up. One is owned by a collector, although in poor shape. there is no way one could worn that was used in the original films.
@@darreylhenderson8979 I thought they found the original in the 1970's on Universal's back lot. I was in Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine?
*MR BROWN GOT ALONG FAMOUSLY WITH THE CREATURE*
Could of got way more than that that thing is amazing!
You don’t know cringe until you’ve seen Hoss shake someone’s hand
King Nate Diaz it’s a real dirtbag shake.. I’d go in there with a handshake buzzer just to F him up.
I think meth is the reason he's so skinny.
I never met the Creature but I was a nurse's aide and one of my patients in the early 1980's was Jack Arnold and he was the director for that movie.
Arnold also directed numerous episodes of Gilligan's Island.
Honestly, even if it took a while to sell its a pretty good display item. People would just enter and take a pic with it compared to a book or something less visually interesting.
That movie was ahead of its time.
Corey.......class act all the way. LOL
Fantastic movie a real classic
That movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. But I loved it.
The Gill Man Lives Again!!
Best I can do is a get out of jail card.
$1900 ? what a steal. worth a lot more than that.
Guillermo Del Toro would buy this in a hearbeat for his horror movies museum.
i wouldn't sell these ripoff artists anything
because your broke and dont own shit.
haters gonna hate
ainter gonna aint
Then dont
They don't rip any one off. And the seller said himself he was *very happy* with the price he got.
That's because you don't have anything worth selling.
Could be fake. just using it for views
Awesome!
I just finished painting one.
Guillermo del Toro would actually buy that.
BAD ASS.........I got a (Bella Lougsi)Dracula life size 1950s movie theatre "statue" lobby piece
That probably has alot more value than this only a replica since yours is much older and was actually used for display in movie theatres and generally not given to the public but thrown away.
I was at the aquarium that helped film the movie last year
Loved to have nightmares about that movie as a child
Ocean man take me by the hand
Gabe Garcia lead me to the land
That you understand
Lead me to the Land, that you understand ocean man
You can tell he's gonna keep it or already know who he's gonna sell it to
Now I feel awful that I’ve never seen the movie must watch!!
How Cool?!! Talk About a CONVERSATION PIECE! and With the Extras? ?!! Cory...You got a Super 8 projector?! THROWBACK THURSDAYS EVERY WEEK MY PLACE! Bring Your Swimming Attire.....or Not! haha

It's the ocean man take me by the ocean man if you understand
AAAHHH!!!! ITS MAXINE WATERS!!!!👹

In reply to another comment, here is the abridged version of the participants in the creation of the Creature of the Black Lagoon. Ben Chapman because of his 6'5" frame was more impressive in the land shots. Two other actors played the land role in sequels, Ricou Browning played the role under water for all three films. The idea came from producer William Alland who was told a story about a half man swamp creature while on location for another movie, Maurice Zimm wrote the story. Harry Essex and Arthur Ross both worked on the screenplay. Milicent Patrick was a former Disney illustrator who originally received no credit for creating the concept art, as part of the team, Chris Mueller, was the artist who originally sculpted Gill Man using Millicent’s drawing, Jack Kevan was the costume supervisor who created the costume. The record was corrected after Bud passed away.
OCEAN MAN
I love the movie series...
I'm one of those softys, I always felt bad for the creature of the lagoon and Frankenstein when very young. Dracula and the mummy not so much. I recall my parents took me to the community center locally. My mom carried me to a guy who wore that costume. I guess she figured i would hug him. I IMMEDIATELY started to cry lol. I was scared of him. He was a nice guy and took of his creature head and I was like....oh....ok...I must have been around 6 years old. Good memories though. It's playing on svengoolie tonight made me look y'all up 😁
The real creature costume rotted away
Yes, it was built of a stocking and foam rubber pieces that weren't made to last.
Forget a replica, i want the real actual costume!!! Its so badass!!!!
Never take your stuff to a Pawn Shop to sell.
I would of ask for $1955
1954 you mean
That is so COOL
Pawn that Tag Monaco dawg
My favorite Universal Monster.
Behold! The Creature from The Black Lagoo- OCEAN MAN, OCEAN MAN, TAKE ME BY THE HAND
ben chapman played the creature on land and Ricou Browning played him underwater...unfortunately Ricou passed away not too long ago
0:51 is it me, or does that signature look a bit... Off?
the original signature was written in a light ink, the owner must have traced over it with a darker visible marker.
But I've got to frame it...
Suprized they didnt offer $2
Ocean man xD
*Ocean Man, Bring me by the hand, take me to the land, that you understand*
OCEAN MAN TAKE BE BY THE HAND BRING ME TO THE LAND
He looked exactly the same in the '90s 🤣
One of my favorite creature movies, I hope they do a modern version soon. But we are doing the invisible man first.
They have been talking about a remake for decades...never gonna happen.
I can imagine a Woke Version of the Creature From the Black Lagoon. He'll probably fall in love with a Dude this time.
Or maybe a female fish creature falls for a human man
@Ian Turner the shape of water was good.
@@billylo7875Well, today’s time is all about TRANS and transing our children. So it would probably be a “transwoman” (ok, so that’s really a MAN, so technically, you’re on the ball. No pun intended).
Those 3d glasses are probably worth more than the satute
Big fan here. I would have given him a quick $5,000.
I want a toy of the Gillman!
Creature of The Black Lagoon was filmed 3 miles from my house.
I know this guy she used to be my step grandfather and whooh was this thing scary i heard that he was on the show but it is surreal to see it on tv he used to have a hula outfit on it
*he
burgerboy does some shit did he live in tomahawk wi?
You're thinking of John Lewis
Corey over-paid. It is a movie replica he bought at a store in 1998. You can find this kind of stuff in any shopping mall in America. The fact that it is signed by the actor who played Gill-man is cool, but they aren't going to be able to sell it for over $2k. $1k should have been top of the mark.
RIP to Ricou Browning, the stuntman for Ben Chapman, who played Gill-man.
Is it me or did I just hear an actual sound coming from the hand-squeeze at 2:28?
He should have sold it to Guillermo Del Toro
St Magret uniform seeeeehhh
Haha this is awesome
The price of this item seems really low to me especially with what was included especially the autograph of the actor.
I thought Rick was laughing at 23 seconds
Every time I read the comments for Pawn Stars clips I see stuff written by people saying how this show is fake and that they are con artists, blah blah blah...
Makes me wonder, are their lives that miserable that they subject themselves to something they obviously don't like and even then have the audacity
to comment their grievances every time. It is generally the same people too.
Personally I don't mind this show. I think Rick is a hoot and Chum is always good for a laugh.
I love film props too. I've got the original 'gold finger' from the movie 'gold finger'!
