Wow, when I was a child I was playing the old 45s from my dad from his youth in my grandparents house. One of them was this record. Thanks for bringing up memories. Very rare, hard to find song and therefor a big thanks for the upload.
I literally haven't heard this song since early 1970. I used to have this record. This song is on the flip side of "Don't Give Up" which I bought in the late summer of 1968 when it was on the charts. I love the positivity of "Don't Give Up". In turning the record over, which I always did with 45s, this was a wonderful surprise and delight to listen to. Every record she made at that time was wonderful. And those beautiful Tony Hatch orchestrations were the perfect compliment to her lovely voice.
I too still have the 45rpm and turntable to play it.. always played B sides of Petula's hits.. I remain a Pet fanatic to this day.. - Tom, 72. Delaware via Brooklyn NY
I have my copy - it was the B side of Don't give up . It was such a favorite of mine that I still hum or sing it to myself. I simply love it. It it is so optimistic and soothing. I LOVE PETULA!!!!
Her self composed B sides were nearly always far more beautiful than the hit tracks on the A side. She is an incredibly under rated songwriter . Her songwriting is why she has such a massive army of lifelong devoted fans
Very nice song. I have been a fan of her's since 1967. I don't believe this song was ever included in an album in the U.S. It doesn't seem to be on several CD box sets that I have that were released in the UK.. I'll have to look for this 45 the next time I go to used record stores.
every track from the sixties made it to CD I think this was on the twofer CD that included the pink album. I compiled them for Sanctuary and did not miss a track
SORRY but can not agree with the first part of your comment. The two sides (A&B) are both superlative and phenomenal songs that are equal to each other. ANY RECORDINGS that have the Unmatchable, Unsurpassable and Unique vocals of Our Special Lady are most certainly Top Notch and have the very best vocals ever sang. Petula Clark is THE Greatest Female Vocalist Of ALL TIME.
Delightful Petula Clark provides beautiful vocals, always.

much better than the A side. I got this in a box of 45's , from a store owner. Had no idea which to listen to. Still have it, this side is worn out!
