Correct, the D-41 has abalone hexagon position markers on the fret board, while the D-42 has the old fashioned diamond and snowflake inlays.

It is definitely a Martin D45 with a custom inlay fingerboard. The question is whether it is a real Martin, or a Chinese copy. You could probably go on their Facebook page and ask him.
