@@JaxonUm Nah, I think it's a sidegrade at best, the tiger needs to be leveled up which is harder than leveling most animals because it's a higher tier. There are probably situations where new tiger is better but I think it's mostly worse and that's ok

Plus when you buy a crab into another crab it updates it's HP to the current highest in your party.
It’s just a rework imo, not really a buff or nerf. You lose the ability to have a unit that auto scales with your big unit for 3 gold value, but now it has the advantages you mentioned.
This is a really good comment. Snipe meta was rising up a lot of tier lists, and I think, with the crab changes, scorpions have also got an involuntary buff.
Imagine passing on a crocodile which does 8 damage to last unit without needing a spare space, and also not causing you to face another enemy, instead of a rat that does 6 but needs to be summoned and then killed by your own team
Well I mean I think it's probably healthier for the game then one animal being oneshot every trade. Allows lots of abilities like hurt/on attack to pop off. It does buff skunk indirectly though but tiger skunk isn't a thing so it's probably fine. Also, units that buff attack more then hp might actually be useful. Although I think only the bluebird does that now...
Boar seems really strong imo, defo a better hippo if you consider the fact that most of your animals were gaining a shit tonne of health only, which means that meat is way stronger too as attack is harder to come across now (both fish and duck only give health now and units that give attack like dodo got hard nerfed). So if you give Boar a lot of health, it would destroy white-weeny builds very easily, kinda reminds me of setting up sword dances in pokemon showdown. It is sad though that a lot of earlier-game animals got nerfed but dog didn't, if anything that makes it even stronger/more viable.
If these changes go through, Dog is going to be the only build you see get ten wins in Free to Play, they actually butchered Dodo Rooster and Turkey Fly, the only other actually viable builds lol
I think dog needs to be a tier 3. It shows up too early and is literally the best option every time it shows up before round 5. Not to mention shrimp got buffed so now a shrimp dog build is likely the way to go. Edit: I just checked the discord and it said they did change the dog to tier 3 and rabbit to tier 2. I think that's a good idea and lets you decide early on if you wanna go food meta or summon meta by either taking a shrimp or a rabbit, or both I guess.
If it attacked every time it would probably just become too op. It could be good anti fly or turkey tech depending on spawn order. But in general it still doesn't seem that great.

I'm digging this. Does it seem like they are trying to make it easier to buff health and harder to buff damage so that rounds don't just come down to who has a 50/50 with melon in the end.
Disappointed in no peacock changes. Also, duck should just give units either 1 dmg or 1 attack at random. Only giving health is good for some units but can be almost useless for others (yay, a 1-7 bat). And if rooster's already nerfed, maybe the dodo doesn't need a nerf as well. Seems basically useless unless you dump all your resources onto it
It looks to me what they're doing now is insentivising swapping out early units more frequently than just running them throughout the entire gauntlet. Also, the dodo buff is senseful to me because it now feels like it stands better on its own, and can challenge early enemy animals better due to having 2 attack rather than a measley one. I also like the change a lot because before if you werent able to buff it within a couple turns, it felt like you lost out on the dice roll (high ceiling, low floor); the ability being nerfed had to happen so that it is no longer pretty much an easy guarentee unit kill by tier two (easily getting a unit to max attack is just about the equivalent of a scorpion -_-) Now you will want to get the dodo to a full tier three to guarentee wipe a unit out, while also in turn being a big hitter by the nature of you having to buff it. Also, the rooster was just absolutely busted, and this nerf is what I was praying for... I do agree that the peacock probably needed a buff, but it feeds into my idea that they want you to utalize units that are good early game, and then swap them out for units that have stronger abilities later, rather than just tunnelvisioning on buffs like NL came to realize was highly efficient; Imo it could use a base attack buff to 2 though, with that being said
@@sainttrish7544 good points. But I think a 1-5 peacock isn’t just bad late game, it’s kinda bad early game. Maybe it’ll be better simply because attack will be harder to come by, so its ability will be better
Curious as to why many of the attack/health buffs have had the attack element removed so that they've become purely health buffs? Don't really want all my pets to be a 2/8 tbh.

I feel like at 14:09 there was an idea to potentially garlic the bison, pop that in front, which almost ensures you take one pet down, and then a double rat play could potentially work
It doesn't really matter. The game tops out at 10 wins and 50/50 animals, whatever changes they make simply adjusts the ramping curve for growth builds, and swaps out old synergy builds for new ones. The main point is to make the units feel novel enough so that you're not autopiloting builds while you play. At some point they'll have to introduce new mechanics along with balance changes to keep the game feeling fresh. Frankly, I'd like to see a "buff/nerf of the day", where every day they change one or two animals around just for kicks.
I did play this game for like three days but I'm kinda sad to see Tiger go. The double effect was just so satisfying to see. (No idea if he had any meta presence whatsoever in the end)
Tiger skunk was kind of busted. Basically killed 2 strong units on the enemy team for 12 gold once you hit tier two. Also, it was waaaaay too good with rooster since you know 4 chicks is kind of a lot...
Dirty rat plus croc would be interesting. If the croc doesn't take out the back line unit then the rat will, and if the croc does take out the back unit then the dirty rat could take out the second to back unit. Could super screw up some teams
15:47 NL: I think you could roll a mosquito over a beaver, and then give a pig a bee, cause I don't wanna use the otter and have it buff the ducks Me still not knowing what most of the units or effects do after dozens of episodes: 🤷♂️
A dolphin, skunk, bison, whale, rat is interesting. The skunk can cripple their tankiest friend, and the dolphin should ensure you've got space to spawn that rat early on.
WHAT Northernlion mentioned the Canucks??? As a Canucks fan (its been a bad time btw) I am amazed to hear someone with that accent talk about the Nucks haha
A Boar with garlic armour will be gaining health when going against something with up to 3 attack and can indefinitely fight things with 4 attack, all while getting stronger. Hey, nice summon build, have you seen my boar?
NL I have a challenge for you...The Chinese Zodiac challenge...Win with a team of the Chinese Zodiac animals...But once you buy one of them you can only replace it with another Zodiac animal for added difficulty
Damn they outright killed the dodo and duck. The duck could've at least been a 2/2, and the dodo was fine at 50% attack, not 33% (the bigger problem was the rooster anyway).
The roaster Is not such a problem if you considera that the dodo Is not gona give so much attack and that most of the animals that give Buff have Been Nerf so now the roaster is a lot More harder to ser up
Boar would probably only work on weak summons. Level 1 sheep and weak chicks. Put some garlic on it maybe? Functions basically the opposite of a hippo.
Put a hedgehog betwixt double rats. Once your first rat dies and you summon the rat the hedgehog kills it, then you can get the dmg out again with another rat.
There was such an easier way to make the horse better. Just make it a worse Turkey. Make the stat point permanent, since it only activates once per animal. Being 1-1 wasn't the problem. The problem is "until the end of the turn".
Nah being 1/1 was definitely a part of the problem, horses were basically a dead slot early on unless you run crickets with it. At least now it has statting to compare with ants.
All the changes seem decent except they took the freaking Tiger out? That unit has some of the best synergies and it is just plain fun… what a horrible change
What's the difference in the duck? Before it was 1 health for shop pets, now it's still 1 for shop pets. Is the change that it's permanent for future shop pets? If so then why doesn't it say future pets like the canned food does?
A lot of the changes seem to make things less interesting for the good units and changes to bad units that were buffs don't seem very interesting either
I think it's fitting that when NL finally ran a horse he did so in the most suboptimal way possible.
BEE ON BACK HORSE
dont worry the devs know he isnt too sharp upstairs lol
i was thinking the same thing like bruh buy the damn cricket lmao
I don’t normally feel the need to backseat but this genuinely made me angry wowee

@@octave38 this is how it is now it seems
"the early worm gets the bird"

6:37 That me!
I guess I should question my life like nl suggested
(I should have play test server more, I didn't expected nl to play test server)
I was excited to see the original sap player in nl's video
it was worth a test to prove that the dog nerf doesn't matter
Now we need new tier list which is giga pog
Look how they massacred my pets
Curious as to why many of the attack/health buffs have had the attack element removed so that they've become purely health buffs? Don't really want all my pets to be a 2/8 tbh.
Yeah well everyone else doesn't want your pets being 8/8s either
@@gingermlg I want everyones pets 8 8. Speak for yourself lmao. This games supposed to be fun and theyll continue to drain it out of the game at this rate. Watch coreAgaming video if you want to know why you should buff and not nerf
@@Ryleeman54number2 I've played Yu-Gi-Oh, no thanks.
@@Ryleeman54number2 The coreA video basically ignores all the issues that come with powercreep, and is one of the channels weaker videos.
@@asaltedpudding4041 Lol he does tho. It was supposed to be inferred I know thats hard but it was near the beginning when hes talking about rainbow sf2 I think is what its called. Were not looking for a rainbow SF2 were looking for a SSF2Turbo. Makes sense right?
Hmmm, the Boar eats summons for breakfast. Especially when it gets buffed up.
I feel like at 14:09 there was an idea to potentially garlic the bison, pop that in front, which almost ensures you take one pet down, and then a double rat play could potentially work
Boar seems super crazy. After a bunch of health buffs, it can survive. Only problem is it being a Tier 6, which kinda sucks.
Who needs to make bad animals good when you can make good animals bad?
This is kind of how this feels right now some balancing of power units was def necessary but yeh im pretty luke warm on this
The dodo nerf makes it useless now. Roster having half attack solves rooster + dodo
Frankly, I'd like to see a "buff/nerf of the day", where every day they change one or two animals around just for kicks.
imo a better buff for the horse would be to remove the "until the end of battle" from its ability, making it kinda like a F2P version of a bluebird
I think that that might be too strong. It turns bad units into ok units and ok units into great units early game. Idk I'd have to try it.
Close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades, or as we say in Norway: "Almost doesn't shoot the man off his horse."
Close counts with horseshoes, hand grenades AND tactical thermo-nuclear weapons.
I love this game merely for the fact that it's getting NL so many views and new subs. More people should know of the sheer poggitude on this channel.
Dirty rat plus croc would be interesting. If the croc doesn't take out the back line unit then the rat will, and if the croc does take out the back unit then the dirty rat could take out the second to back unit. Could super screw up some teams
Why not simply run 2 crocs?
@@alexchacha09 You can get a rat earlier
15:47
NL: I think you could roll a mosquito over a beaver, and then give a pig a bee, cause I don't wanna use the otter and have it buff the ducks
Me still not knowing what most of the units or effects do after dozens of episodes: 🤷♂️
NL playing the beta, so that when it gets released, he can set the meta, is some dedication. :)
(Yes, I know he's just tired of rooster dodo)
A dolphin, skunk, bison, whale, rat is interesting. The skunk can cripple their tankiest friend, and the dolphin should ensure you've got space to spawn that rat early on.
Reminds me of that meme where the guy is pointing the gun at himself
No amount of new patch disorientation makes honeyhorse make sense.
Not really a fan of this patch, really hope they decide to change it before releasing it
The early bird gets the worm, what does the worm get?
The early worm gets eaten.
Titles not wrong. Honey on the back horse when you’re running two summon buffers?
Today's animal fact: Bats always turn left when coming out of a cave.
7:42 He starts calling out the Canucks but I lost my stuffing at 7:54 when he started perfectly describing my Oilers without even knowing it 😂
I really want a unit that does a “on enemy summon” to combo with the rat and to hard counter summon builds
The crab change is pog
the swan is a bigger part of buy sell meta than pig because the income from a single swan gives u an extra buy me sell me every round ;)
he ignored the horse for so long he literally forgot what it did
Why did NL give the bee to the horse?
“a slow release dolphin”
Sad to see NL pass up a worm and squirrel when he already had a rabbit on the team. I'm eager to see that discounted food.
Sooo basically they wanted to remove dodo rooster. Dodo looks unplayable now, such a shame.
I mean, it's like comparable with peacock now. Idk that they should have game defining abilities on t2 units.
I feel like with less attack buffs early a camel rises in prio
Loving all of these new changes soooo much
regionally significant esports legend Northern
NL is able to read and remember patch notes?! Pogggg usually egg blind doesn't read lol
what is this floating thing on his left? did he mention this in streams. the shelf is gone too. whole new world.
Peleton bike
This change is so great for my playstyle win 7/7 this patch
The intro music is definitely “Havana” but slightly changed
WHAT Northernlion mentioned the Canucks??? As a Canucks fan (its been a bad time btw) I am amazed to hear someone with that accent talk about the Nucks haha
With the reduction of attack power in the game, garlic got a huge boost.
15:20 - Mike Tyson has logged on
can't wait to experience the changes myself!
When all the changes are finalized, we need an updated tier list
A Boar with garlic armour will be gaining health when going against something with up to 3 attack and can indefinitely fight things with 4 attack, all while getting stronger.
Hey, nice summon build, have you seen my boar?
How do you get into the beta?
NL I have a challenge for you...The Chinese Zodiac challenge...Win with a team of the Chinese Zodiac animals...But once you buy one of them you can only replace it with another Zodiac animal for added difficulty
i can’t find this version on browser. someone help?
Mostly dislike the changes tbh, and for BOTH the rooster and the dodo to get the nerf seems weird to me, boar is kinda pog tho
I watch you play this game every day and still I suck at the game.
squirrel is very good now
There was such an easier way to make the horse better.
At least now it has statting to compare with ants.
what kind of sicko plays for the win in beta patch??
All the changes seem decent except they took the freaking Tiger out? That unit has some of the best synergies and it is just plain fun… what a horrible change
how effed up was he during that first game O_o
Of course it’s here when it’s 2:40 am for me 😭😭
What's the difference in the duck? Before it was 1 health for shop pets, now it's still 1 for shop pets. Is the change that it's permanent for future shop pets? If so then why doesn't it say future pets like the canned food does?
Honey, New meta just dropped
A lot of the changes seem to make things less interesting for the good units and changes to bad units that were buffs don't seem very interesting either
Im skeptical on the changes, but diversity in my builds is welcome
