I thought that was him. Great guy.Did noble things for wildlife. He wasn't a nationwide household name,so sadly his passing was barely noticed by the greater population

Unfortunately Simon Cowell died of cancer on 9th June this year. His charity is still going strong . It's called Wildlife Aid and the original TV series plus new videos are on their UA-cam channel.

A person from the BBC not knowing what she is talking about, interviewing a man who doesn't have a clue either, that's the BBC for you, sounds like he dodged a bullet, he could have ended up on BBC management.
He went for a security guard position and unfortunately he didn't get the job.
Honestly one of my all time favourite things to happen on live TV.
He was sitting in the lobby and they mixed him up with the expert and obviously he just said yes yes to all the checks they did fasttracking him from the lobby to the news studio 😅

Sadly this is so true, my son is occasionally mistaken for american.
That's going on in Denmark too. All the kids are speaking American in the English class, a thing that was seen as a fail in a test if it wasn't done in English back when I was a teen. Now it's all septic talk because of Fortnite and Counterstrike and all that nonsense.

Now they're all braindead so they dont understand what the problem is. But i was born in England and have been going back and forth 15+ times the first 12 years in Denmark. Later on i moved back to England for 6 years in the 90s, and became very very english again based on who i hung around. So the USA shit doesnt fly with me and i have to stay away from certain people as it will make me fight a whole town just to prove a point. So its not good to know people that dont see the problem with the whole Americanisation of real English. 🙃
thankfully my daughter has picked up more of an Australian accent from watching bluey than an American one from youtube, she does call sweets candy though, so there is a definite cultural media influence.

To be fair to the guy ordering Domino's delivery across the street, I've ordered pizza from a 1 minute walk away. My kids are very young and sometimes you don't want to wake them up from a nap to put on their little raincoats and settle them in their pram and drag them out into the cold, and then do it all in reverse 2 minutes later while your pizza goes cold. Delivery is a couple of quid and makes it so much less of an ordeal.
That makes perfect sense to me. I couldn't make it over the road as I have Agoraphobia. I have to have a Carer with me if I want to put rubbish in the dustbin outside my backdoor.
Luckily, I don't like pizza lol

Thats a fair point. However, I delivered pizzas in my youth, and surprisingly often , walked to deliver an order from the shop. Almost without fail, the potato answering the door would really have benefitted from that walk.
The Peppa pig accent thing is funny because literally dozens of American shows every year are redubbed with British actors because our kids were starting to talk with American accents.

the taxi driver the BBC interviewed, is Guy Goma, he was there for a job interview to be a data cleanser, and he introduced himself as Guy at the front desk, they were also waiting for a reporter called Guy Kewney, the BBC thought Guy Goma was Guy Kewney and put him on the broadcast, he was unaware of this, they only realised after that he was the wrong guy, once they realised they redid the interview with Guy Kewney and Guy Goma went to do his job interview, he failed to get the job but became imafmous, last year, topical comedy panel show "Have i Got news for you" had him present an episode and had a funny commercial for it that harked back to the interview
