Fortnite will charge pretty hefty prices, but they also consistently update their game. A lot of those updates being pretty vast, introducing entire different games.
Fortnite looks like a completely different game each year, with wild changes every few months, sometimes even mere weeks. Overall cheap prices with rare exceptions (like cars); valuable cosmetics and top priority from devs to its "forge" mode. It is an unstoppable money making machine. That's how you do literal billions: cheap prices, constant updates. Done. Fortnite will never fuckn die I swear. Meanwhile 343 here doing the greedy unprotected from snipers, trying to loot like there's no tomorrow, about to get sent back to the lobby for being so unbelievable dumb.
Additionally. Buying skins in fortnite is a whole different ordeal compared to infinite armor. Halo has long been about mixing and matching armor pieces to get the look you want. Experimentation is highly encouraged with the system. So most players don’t have a “forever spartan” design, they usually change up their look every now and then. Meanwhile, fortnite doesn’t have that customizatability with their skins. But their skins are very high quality so people usually DO have a forever skin or select few skins they really like. The only time most fortnite players mix and match their skins is with new battle pass items which mind you the battle passes contain tons of items for customization. So Fortnite’s show feels much less predatory in terms of prices because you don’t feel the need to buy every item in the shop. Meanwhile, infinite’s bundles almost all contain at least 1 thing players want in them which makes it feel like you need to buy every bundle which is an awful feeling.
Oh the updates are pretty vast alright, but whether or not Halo fans would accept such big deviations is up in the air. Remember, this is the fanbase that broke apart over a quality game like Halo Reach, I have no confidence that they could accept new things in a fast pace.
Yeah, I didn't really get what he meant when he said that. We already know Infinite is basically on life support until the next game comes out. They won't suddenly fund grand new, game changing features. It's entirely possible that they're just saving the Falcon and the shotgun for the next game.
Agreed prices were terrible... then better but not much... then worse than ever. Just now we don't get battle passes to supplement those things we just outright won't pay for. I often have mild heart attacks when realizing the greed within each 343 devs heart
A lot of people were okay with it cause they thought it meant the devs could focus more on the sandbox. Wishful thinking. It's pretty evident that this was just so Microsoft could try to milk more money out of the game. I don't blame the players for trying to keep their hopes up, 343 has made some good progress over the past year, but with how greedy Microsoft is idk how more people didn't see this coming.

I don’t think a full update which removes the battle pass and brought just skin is something to be hopeful about. Had they brought lot of patches, features and quality of life basically content I think there would have been a reason to. Infinite was already making money but companies will maximise profits by any means these days even if its a detriment to the game. A good example is GTA online. What was once the best multiplayer only to become a quick cash grab with less and less content also updates and more and more micro transactions. Again I am a wishful thinker too if there’s evidence for it.
I may not be the typical consumer but the only purchases I have made were the battle passes. More than likely I probably won’t spend any money on micro transactions and won’t spend another dollar on the game. Not out of spite just cause no way I am dropping $20 on a single bundle
Nah weapons are fine. Halo 4 proved that having multiple weapons fill the same niche is redundant. I would like to see some weapons like the beam rifle return though.
Armor cores having rarities in the first place was so dumb. Especially back when "legendary" just meant "there are literally no customization items available for this core at the current moment in time" 😂
there needs to be a color picker for each coating. a picker for Primary, secondary, and tertiary colors on each coating would be incredible, and would still allow 343 to sell coatings so players could customize the unique patterns of them
I've been saying this since before launch. Like how warframe has skins for the different characters. Some are full redos but others are just patterns and textures. Would be way better. But ofc that's not as predatory. (Warframe does well with its free to play model)
I'd hope the next game keeps the hexagonal wheel system for coloring different armor parts, but shifts to each piece being a choice from a colour menu. Basic menu options free, premium menu options for sale INDIVIDUALLY for a few bucks. That way coatings people liked from Infinite would have an equivalent (and the studio could even do a 'choose a few of your Infinite coatings to keep' starter promo), but if you're making your own choices and go symmetrical (which could easily have a sym/asym UI toggle), it collapses down to primary / secondary / tertiary / undersuit anyway, like a lot of people preferred from the older entries.
I say do exactly this but keep existing armor coatings in while also adding more but slow us to edit them. Why does it matter if it's not the original one 343 made of we like it e but it out earn it if not we can edit those things e don't like. Often I find coatings that I enjoy most of but find myself wanting to change certain colors.
I would like to see more legacy weapons added. Flame grenades and the spartan laser, the covenant beam rifle, and maybe some new Needler variant weapons like the rifle from Reach. Honestly Infinite has so much going for it as a sandbox, the more toys they give us the longer we'll be invested.
They're too hellbent on weapon roles being unique. Weapon overlap wouldn't even be an issue if they made specific weapons spawn on specific maps. For instance some maps could have the Bandit,while others could have a Carbine. The sandbox is fun, but whoever is in charge of expanding it seems very limited in mindset. More grenades,guns,and even melee weapons is a win win,we get more content to use,they get more content to sell stuff through 💀
@@gabetheguy5019 There’s actually a reason for this. Back in November Halo infinite lost their gameplay lead who was in charge of the sandbox stuff hence why nothing has been released yet.
Perhaps the Weapon Variants could've even been given unique models and crosshairs as completely separate weapons, like making the Pinpoint Needler resemble Reach's Needle Rifle, or turning the Riven Mangler into the Mauler, the Breacher BR75 into the Halo 3 BR55 HB, buffing the Unbound Plasma Pistol into a Boltshot, which I'd love to see be done in Halo Infinite's art style. The possibilities are endless, and there's just so much potential that 343 is squandering.
I wouldn't be so mad about the prices if they actually put playable content in the game for the updates. This update took 4 months and the only playable content made was a single map.
These AAA studios want “Fortnite money” without an understanding of how Epic Games gets it. Content cures all. If Infinite launched feature-rich with plenty of support after launch, I bet we’d still be okay with the core system. Fortnite can charge $20 a bundle because they will release more weapons on a random Tuesday than Halo has since its launch. Take a break for 3 weeks and come back to new map changes and movement mechanics. Halo Infinite, quite simply, never once seriously competed in the live service space.
Firefight is pretty cool. My problem with this update is that most of the customization requires purchase. I dont buy microtransactions so it sucks to miss out on much of the mk 4 core.
Nah,I'm not willing to settle. This was billed as a live service game,and the content drip has been horrible outside of monetized customization. The type of game this is demands actual new content. More maps,modes,weapons,and vehicles. But even with all tht,20 dollar skins are ridiculous,theres nothing micro about a 20 dollar microtransaction. 10 dollars for these paid bundles,max. Pathetic how they're selling shit for 20+ dollars but can't even get us any legacy weapons aside from the DMR🤦♂️

Ya me too. I never buy microtransaction but especially from this game. It doesn't feel good that you have to pay for most customization options that were free in the other Halo games.
@@Nedak2003 I don't buy as well because I want to feel a personal connection through challenge with my customization options, but buying them directly or indirectly through a pass removes said challenge and I don't feel good wearing it as such. In H3 almost all armors were tied to specific achievements, and some in Reach were as well. It felt much better than either buying them or grinding virtual currency to get them.
@@Specoups I think buying should be an option especially for a free to play game, but you should be able to unlock armor by just playing the game as well. Halo 5 was like that. To me, making most armor only accessible through micro transactions just ruins the experience of multiplayer.
Halo Infinite is now officially “The Spartan Dress-Up Simulator.” The only content we have are armor kits and reverting their initial design via “cross core” features. The store gets more headlines than new sandbox additions (because there are none).

Appreciate you throwing in the math I did calculating how many Spartan Customization combinations there are! What's crazy is that number is ACTUALLY just for ONE core. Multiply that number by 9 to represent all the cores in the game and you get into insane number territory. Divide that number by 7.8 billion people and everyone on planet Earth can own 274 unique Spartans.
just imagine how fun it would be to have playable elites and being able to customize them in numerous ways with past elite armor boss elites and new elite armor
The ability to buy individual items from bundles would be HUGE Fortnite allows that, they could even make it cheaper for the whole bundle and raise it like a dollar per item if it’s purchased alone again similar to how Fortnite runs their shop
Fortnite doesn't always let you buy the individual thing that you want. It gives you more options, but sometimes you still buy 3 things to get 1 little detail that you wanted.
@@RIFADOR001 True, but the vast majority of items are not locked behind a bundle. Fortnite's shop is almost perfect. I have yet to see a more balanced FTP game when it comes to its currency and the value of the cosmetics. It's crazy good.

I agree that I would buy more if it was cheaper, but the honest truth is that they have analysts that have done the work to ensure they net the most money. There are people out there that don’t care about the prices. Their net contributions to 343 outweigh the net contributions they would make by reducing the prices. We are losing out on consumer surplus sadly.
I used to run a base Rakshasa, then I added custom parts, but now I'm running a custom Mark VII with Mark V [A] helmet, Iota 12 left shoulder, and M2497 chest, all with Sulfur visor and Steel Red coating.
America is definitely the target market. Im on the EU servers, the game is dead, barely find a game on certain playlists, and can't find ranked games only during peak hours. I barely see anyone who has bought the latest armour cosmetics from the shop... which is a good thing.
I really hope they continue to add more armor segments for cross core. I’d love to be able to wear those utility belts on every core and have those arm blade things from the rakshasa core on every core, even the chest pieces would be great for cross core.
I can see geometry issues with some of the chests, but cross-core won't be finished imo until belts, knees, gloves and what chests they can do without major geometry issues are included.
The prices are getting insane. I’ve been conditioned to buy post game content since halo 2 with map packs but that was $20 for NINE maps! $2 weapon cosmetics, 5 and 10 armors and 15 tops for the bundles would be at least digestible. There also needs to be consistency. I can not stand having random prices every time. It makes it such a transparent money grab. I also could not care less about them recouping money for releasing the game broken. They need to eat that for a while. Plus, if they fixed the pricing I’m sure the sales would be more consistent.
Hell, they actually lost out on money from me and people I know by using this fomo system. Every time I see something I want, it's always gone before I can or decide to get it, then it doesn't come back for four months, and by then I no longer care...
The thing is, the wouldn't have. Sadly, there's a reason why all these live services are priced so highly. Most players just won't buy anything no matted how low you go. So they have to charge alot to the small amount who will. It's shit, but lowering prices wouldn't just suddenly see them make loads of money through massive sales.

@disorderprincess Yeah. People say that, the problem is they don't. At least not consistently enough. There are certain items like the MKV that a huge amount of people will buy, but most people won't buy. It's been that way for a long time. 95% of the revenue for most live service games comes from 5% of their playerbase. Now Halo probably isn't THAT skewed, there's no loot boxes you can spend thousands on. But yeah, it's not totally inaccurate.
I've been playing firefight exclusively for a couple of whole days at this point and I'm still having alot of fun. I'm not very good at PvP so this actually gives me a reason to play infinite.
I don't think they've said cross-core is "done" have they? I hope not. Gloves should be doable with minimal issues and we're still waiting for the remaining coatings. We also need to push to get the kits unlocked. I see no reason to not make the helmets and shoulders from Mark V, Mark VI, the flood kits, etc. cross-core.
Imagine people were able to buy cosmetics as single items rather than bundles with a pricerange from 50ct - 2$ for each item. People would go crazy and literally spend a ton of money on it since it would be only stuff they'd actually equip on their cores.

I think to fix the facts that you can not get battle pass credits anymore they should make it so that the weekly ultimate reward gives you 100-200 credits, it would incentivize people to hop on weekly at least on top of the pre existing weekly rewards

all 343 has to do is give everyone the option to unlock everything, like in Halo 3. at least this way the people who are lazy & would rather spend the money can do so. also, i believe items specific to the battlepasses should be exclusive & never come around in the shop, because that way it gives a sense of uniqueness & incentive to buy the battlepass & not rob everyone who put the time in. similarly, i had an issue with bungie handing out recon on halo 3 because hardly anyone had it because they just couldn’t put the time in for it.
i've said it time and time again. The ONE thing that I would love to have 343 do is add the option to ROTATE armor cores per game at random. Or even choosing between favorited ones to cycle through.

I feel like if they made a separate section for head and body armor effects that would help too. Like i want to mix and match helmet/armor effect for example having a flood mohawk while also wearing the flood body effect as well.

Dear 343, I have been a fan of halo since Halo Reach’s release in 2010, I have played and completed all halo games. I have been playing Infinte since it’s beta where I was in the flights. This is my feedback for you on what to add in order to make everyone happy. •Cross core knees, wrists, Boots (with ankles), utilities and chests are all we need now for full cross core. I can only really find 1-2 coatings that allow me to have a nice military coloured primary with a white secondary •Adding HR-H5 vehicles and HR-H5 weapons to sandbox •Better armour coatings that actually fit with halo lore •The rest of the missing HR customisation, Operator, Military Police, etc… •Enable players to purchase S1-S4 vaulted content from the store •Allow players to play as elites in a sub gametype of firefight just like on reach (not necessary but it would be extremely well received) •More interesting emblems like the ONI emblem, ODST emblem, Marine Emblem, Navy Emblem, Air Force Emblem, UNSC Emblem, SIII Alpha Company Emblem, SIII Gamma Company Emblem, etc… •Ranked: Support players who play objectives and support their team by winning objectives shouldn’t be punished even when winning for not having a high KD. A Gold 3 will be placed against a Diamond 3-4 in certain games My friend was very excited to play halo Infinte with me and so he installed the game only to end up uninstalling it from his pc due to how controlled what he could and couldn’t do was which is a massive shame. How to fix coatings: •Make all coatings purchasable at all times from the store unless they’re a weekly reward, you could quite honestly have colour palette packs in the store like how WARFRAME does which would give players incredible amounts of choice for their armour colour customisation with just an primary and secondary option to change in a palette.
If halo is going the store route, make it similar to halo reach. Then as player sink hours and earn credits then the store can have an actual purpose. Sure have a currency buy section for those that may want to get to items quicker but make it an environment worth investing time in. Get kickbacks from popular modes made on forge if a lot of people play/share/save it. Build around what’s available
One thing I hope they fix is the armor pieces that are sold in bundles gets two sets of shoulders if that bundle has 2 different shoulder pieces. Some of the bundles right now, like in the Omega team set, has 2 different pieces on each shoulder, but you don't get two sets to give it a more symetrical look. Like the IMA/BARZITAN piece looks awesome, but its only available on the left side, so its a tiny bit frustrating
343 just need to incorporate armor through the progression system. Having players unlock armor through gameplay is something every halo game should have. But also having hard challenges you need to complete to get cool armor. Such as “ninja players 4 times in a matchmaking game”. Something that makes it seem like you earned that armor. However in terms of the shop 343 just need to lower the prices, none of this “ohhh a lot of stuff is cross core now sooo it worth more!!”. No that’s not how it should be, it’s so scammy to do that to your playerbase. But also allowing players to buy individual items from a bundle would also be a huge improvement. If 343 did these two things with the shop, then almost all the problems players have would go away. Pls 343 you were on a win streak and now you do this 😭
The only reason I actually bought the battlepasses was because of the 1000 credit cashback. I still haven’t finished season 2’s battlepass so I’m just gonna get that rather than any store bundles
Just gonna say this here for some ideas that could help infinite 1. Challenges give credits and xp 2. Personal score/10 = extra credits at end of match 3. Personal care rank gives a credit multiplier i.e. bronze gives x1, silver gives x2, and gold gives x3
I'd like to see a little more menu customization. I never want the main menu and loading screen of Zeta Halo to change. 343 should take a page from MCC and Fortnite, and let us customize our menu screens. Even in the Armor Hall, I'd like to see some customization. I absolutely despise the fracture cores, and I want nothing to do with them. Mark IV, Mark V [B], and Mark VII are all I care about. I'd like to have the three of them together in the armor core. Being able to have our cores in any order we want would be really nice.

I love watching your playstyle and it has helped me get a ton better. it's so cool to show some of my friends and family who i get to try out the game just how good some people can get. Out of all things, I want a color wheel for the next Halo. I can save up money and buy like one armor set, fine. But the fact that colors are locked behind paywalls is absurd.

I think Infinite needs one big content update that can make the entire game feel fresh again My ideal update would be as followed: - 1 New Weapon : Bruteshot (power weapon) - 2 New Vehicles: Falcon and Banished Skiff - 3 New maps (one of them being Blood Gulch) - 2 new gamemodes: Classic FF and Grifball - 2 new forge items: Pelican and Phantom with working seats for Ais - A new 50 tier battlepass with the Mark VI armor core - 1 new Ai (personally want a Sergeant Johnson Ai screaming down my ear) Finally I’d like to see an update to Campaign, not a story expansion, instead all the new weapons and gadgets introduced in multiplayer moving over with maybe short sidequests to acquire the gadgets This is a lot for 343 standards but if they dropped something similar to this you’d wouldn’t get much complainants for a while, allowing them to put more attention on their next project and drop the occasional small updates for Infinite afterwards
Honestly in a perfect world 343 would get rid letting the game be a free download for multiple like every other halo game that way the shop isn't their main source of revenue
They probably don't want to make grinding career rank on firefight *too* easy. The odd games where you get bandana on from the start by RNG and grab a hammer or a rocket early can be very lucrative on XP. A pistolfight mode with unlimited ammo the upgraded sidekick would be sweet though.
New update has had way more bandit blanks than season 5. I'm constantly having to 5 shot to get shields down, and 3 shot plus beat down is now inconsistent. This CU felt like a step back from the direction of previous seasons.
We need the ability to buy items individually or as a bundle for all armor bundles if I need to I'll work out the kinks for it and make a video explaining why it would be one of the best updates that halo infinite could ever have
If they do end up rewarding players for time spent for credits... I think it it would ALSO be wise at same time to give the players that rank 1-100 world wide in certain skills extra credits too. Example: mint Blitz sits in multiple top Playlist he gets the better rewards. Outta the top 100 since he's in first place say for kills(not sure if you're atm ) Say since I'm rank 50 in driver assist then I could get credits also but not as much as the players that place 1,2 or 3. This would definitely motivate many to put the grind in the long run and would promote more hours spent and give ppl more objectives or goals that inspire them to grind halo more
I commented this on another video, but I feel the weekly rewards should be at most 500 credits instead of the crappy emblems and charms no ones going to use. I know they're doing the tv show helmets now but those can easily be put for free in the shop much like the hcs winter coating at launch. This way, 343 can kinda justify their large prices because we have a free alternative for credits, and if you're short a couple then people would be more willing to spend 5 or 10 dollars for the extra credits to get the armor they want.. I know there are plans to add a sort of exchange shop to get past weekly rewards, but I'm sure there is another way to implement getting the points rather than using the weekly rewards.
They need to add some sort of customisation that you can unlock from the campaign like xp for battle passes maybe? Maybe not but just something a little bit more, im not looking forward to having to buy a couple of the seperate events to get certain things from battle passes even though im still missing out on things that just won’t be released anymore anyway or the things that are vaulted I guess, even the same with store items there’s such a limited choice and most of it right now isn’t the most appealing in my own personal opinion though! I would’ve really liked the CE armour set
honestly going with your idea of allowing us to earn tiny amounts of spartan points, maybe have to where if you finish 1 weekly challenge you get 50 spartan points, but then thats also all you would get for that week
Even if they didnt do a battle pass and just had a bunch of operations with the store kits but they made a bunch of classic skins for the premium pass like they did with the AR I would have been fine with it, may have even preferred it to a battle pass
Make the ultimate weekly challenge 100sc rather than something most people wont engage with. That way if you consistently engage with the game you can purchase the next premium operation, or you could save it up for something you actually care about.
They should a daily login giving you an amount of currency. That way as long as you log in every day, you keep getting more. Call of Duty Infinite Warfare did this system back during it's lifecycle and it worked well imo. Also, they not only need to put more rewards back into the game and the passes, but Really lower the prices of the items in the shop. Yes, it's a free to play game but part of me feels even making it "free to play" is the biggest issue as to why the shop is getting more and more expansive.
I hope they'll get kneepad and glove crosscore on the next update. As much as I want chest crosscore, I don't think the assets are compatible with cores they were not made for. Parts would either clip into the base core or hover over them. Hip accessories possibly have the same issue. In regards to pricing, it has always been expensive. $5 cat ears was too much in season 1. The current price is ridiculous. Maybe give discount base on rank/experience to encourage people to play more? The better a player is, the steeper the discount they'll get?
I’ve never bought a bundle in a shooter. I’ve bought battlepasses and when I was younger I bought CSGO cases but I wouldn’t ever pay the price for these bundles or any of them across gaming.
I think they should do weapon pack,vehicle pack and equipment pack to keep players invested and probably do some story expansions so 343 have their revenue from the game and everyone will be happy.
Totally agree with your last couple points. Game was just starting to build up steam and good will and they totally wrecked that momentum. The prices are absolutely absurb. I’d buy some of these items in the $1-$5 range, but there’s no way I’m spending $20 on the Mark V. Frankly, mark V should be one of those included in the game since it’s a legacy design.
At this point if they give us a battlepass with full content and no filler and without the 1000 credits to earn again I'll take it. The seasons is what always brought me back to grind the game.
Okay, here I go for the hundredth time... Increase in Sandbox (personally an SMG drop UNSC SMG, Plasma Rifle, Spiker & whatever vehicles). I have been waiting for the forgers to make me something. I am creative but not in the original sense. I have an idea that I want to rerun all the halo campaigns in the infinite engine and with forgeable AI and a covenant pallet that is totally possible. The only thing I would need for them is to add in the ability to change the banished color pallet to a covenant one for the AI, and then for them to add an Elite Core. If they do that the only thing I would still want is a playable ODST core, but I know thats asking for a lot.

I’ve been supporting 343 in past seasons by purchasing the pass and the occasional bundle - but this update was just insulting, a massive swing in the wrong direction. It made me commit to boycott the shop, regardless of how good the armour pieces look. Good luck 343. The player base looks pretty pissed to me.
We absolutely need more weapons/vehicles in Infinite. I personally would love to see more maps also, specifically for BTB (I heard they're adding more in the future, but don't know when). As far as the macrotransactions go, just lower the prices, bring back season passes (even if they don't give as much/any credits back) and have at least a small amount of credits earnable. I really do think those shop and pass issues would be less annoying if we had some more content. 1 new map isn't enough (even worse for me since I only really play BTB, firefight, and recently ranked).
It would be really cool if 343 would take even 10 - 20% of the cosmetic options from the shop and then lock them behind achievements, kind of like in H3 where you had to get sword kills to get the ascetic elite armor, etc. They could also give us a way to earn credits by playing the game. I don't necessarily have a problem with microtransactions, especially when they're only for cosmetics, but free players need *some* kind of reward structure that makes them want to keep playing
Crazy they do this but we don’t have castle wars or griffball. Modes you could easily create with the current toolset. Not only that, but there are so many compelling forge maps and game modes I’d love to try in matchmaking and I’m not willing to mess around with the crappy custom browser for. How can you have infinite flexibility at your fingertips and cycle through the same bland maps and playlists everyday?
If were gonna stick with the costing system then it needs to be improved, take Destiny 2's shader systen as the example. Being able to mix and match different shaders to different armor pieces. I personally want to an improvement to a color wheel but also keep the costings as speical patters, textures etc. Can call me more of a traditional player. Halo 3 fell in love with the CQB helmet. After many years I've returned to it and matched it with a CQB or Grenadier left shoulder and odst right shoulder. Also always be a purple spartan with a gray secondary color and a wolf emblem

Fortnite will charge pretty hefty prices, but they also consistently update their game. A lot of those updates being pretty vast, introducing entire different games.
Fortnite looks like a completely different game each year, with wild changes every few months, sometimes even mere weeks. Overall cheap prices with rare exceptions (like cars); valuable cosmetics and top priority from devs to its "forge" mode.
It is an unstoppable money making machine.

Additionally. Buying skins in fortnite is a whole different ordeal compared to infinite armor. Halo has long been about mixing and matching armor pieces to get the look you want. Experimentation is highly encouraged with the system. So most players don’t have a “forever spartan” design, they usually change up their look every now and then.
Meanwhile, fortnite doesn’t have that customizatability with their skins. But their skins are very high quality so people usually DO have a forever skin or select few skins they really like. The only time most fortnite players mix and match their skins is with new battle pass items which mind you the battle passes contain tons of items for customization.
So Fortnite’s show feels much less predatory in terms of prices because you don’t feel the need to buy every item in the shop. Meanwhile, infinite’s bundles almost all contain at least 1 thing players want in them which makes it feel like you need to buy every bundle which is an awful feeling.
Oh the updates are pretty vast alright, but whether or not Halo fans would accept such big deviations is up in the air. Remember, this is the fanbase that broke apart over a quality game like Halo Reach, I have no confidence that they could accept new things in a fast pace.

there needs to be a color picker for each coating. a picker for Primary, secondary, and tertiary colors on each coating would be incredible, and would still allow 343 to sell coatings so players could customize the unique patterns of them
I've been saying this since before launch. Like how warframe has skins for the different characters. Some are full redos but others are just patterns and textures. Would be way better. But ofc that's not as predatory. (Warframe does well with its free to play model)
I'd hope the next game keeps the hexagonal wheel system for coloring different armor parts, but shifts to each piece being a choice from a colour menu. Basic menu options free, premium menu options for sale INDIVIDUALLY for a few bucks.
That way coatings people liked from Infinite would have an equivalent (and the studio could even do a 'choose a few of your Infinite coatings to keep' starter promo), but if you're making your own choices and go symmetrical (which could easily have a sym/asym UI toggle), it collapses down to primary / secondary / tertiary / undersuit anyway, like a lot of people preferred from the older entries.
While I agree, that kinda kills 90% of coatings. Most of the patterns are similar. Some of the really unique ones makes more sense but even then.

Often I find coatings that I enjoy most of but find myself wanting to change certain colors.
I would like to see more legacy weapons added. Flame grenades and the spartan laser, the covenant beam rifle, and maybe some new Needler variant weapons like the rifle from Reach. Honestly Infinite has so much going for it as a sandbox, the more toys they give us the longer we'll be invested.

They're too hellbent on weapon roles being unique. Weapon overlap wouldn't even be an issue if they made specific weapons spawn on specific maps. For instance some maps could have the Bandit,while others could have a Carbine. The sandbox is fun, but whoever is in charge of expanding it seems very limited in mindset. More grenades,guns,and even melee weapons is a win win,we get more content to use,they get more content to sell stuff through 💀

@@gabetheguy5019 There’s actually a reason for this. Back in November Halo infinite lost their gameplay lead who was in charge of the sandbox stuff hence why nothing has been released yet.
Perhaps the Weapon Variants could've even been given unique models and crosshairs as completely separate weapons, like making the Pinpoint Needler resemble Reach's Needle Rifle, or turning the Riven Mangler into the Mauler, the Breacher BR75 into the Halo 3 BR55 HB, buffing the Unbound Plasma Pistol into a Boltshot, which I'd love to see be done in Halo Infinite's art style. The possibilities are endless, and there's just so much potential that 343 is squandering.
I wouldn't be so mad about the prices if they actually put playable content in the game for the updates. This update took 4 months and the only playable content made was a single map.

Fortnite can charge $20 a bundle because they will release more weapons on a random Tuesday than Halo has since its launch. Take a break for 3 weeks and come back to new map changes and movement mechanics. Halo Infinite, quite simply, never once seriously competed in the live service space.

In H3 almost all armors were tied to specific achievements, and some in Reach were as well. It felt much better than either buying them or grinding virtual currency to get them.

Multiply that number by 9 to represent all the cores in the game and you get into insane number territory. Divide that number by 7.8 billion people and everyone on planet Earth can own 274 unique Spartans.

Fortnite doesn't always let you buy the individual thing that you want. It gives you more options, but sometimes you still buy 3 things to get 1 little detail that you wanted.

I agree that I would buy more if it was cheaper, but the honest truth is that they have analysts that have done the work to ensure they net the most money. There are people out there that don’t care about the prices. Their net contributions to 343 outweigh the net contributions they would make by reducing the prices. We are losing out on consumer surplus sadly.
Buying individual pieces would be a good move. 343 could be in the VOLUME business. Sell more of smaller things. Instead of less of large bundles
Unfortunately all studies show it doesn't quite work that way. Too few players buy even when the prices drop.
I used to run a base Rakshasa, then I added custom parts, but now I'm running a custom Mark VII with Mark V [A] helmet, Iota 12 left shoulder, and M2497 chest, all with Sulfur visor and Steel Red coating.
America is definitely the target market. Im on the EU servers, the game is dead, barely find a game on certain playlists, and can't find ranked games only during peak hours. I barely see anyone who has bought the latest armour cosmetics from the shop... which is a good thing.
I really hope they continue to add more armor segments for cross core. I’d love to be able to wear those utility belts on every core and have those arm blade things from the rakshasa core on every core, even the chest pieces would be great for cross core.
I can see geometry issues with some of the chests, but cross-core won't be finished imo until belts, knees, gloves and what chests they can do without major geometry issues are included.
The prices are getting insane. I’ve been conditioned to buy post game content since halo 2 with map packs but that was $20 for NINE maps! $2 weapon cosmetics, 5 and 10 armors and 15 tops for the bundles would be at least digestible. There also needs to be consistency. I can not stand having random prices every time. It makes it such a transparent money grab. I also could not care less about them recouping money for releasing the game broken. They need to eat that for a while. Plus, if they fixed the pricing I’m sure the sales would be more consistent.
Hell, they actually lost out on money from me and people I know by using this fomo system. Every time I see something I want, it's always gone before I can or decide to get it, then it doesn't come back for four months, and by then I no longer care...

@disorderprincess Yeah. People say that, the problem is they don't. At least not consistently enough. There are certain items like the MKV that a huge amount of people will buy, but most people won't buy.
It's been that way for a long time. 95% of the revenue for most live service games comes from 5% of their playerbase. Now Halo probably isn't THAT skewed, there's no loot boxes you can spend thousands on. But yeah, it's not totally inaccurate.
I've been playing firefight exclusively for a couple of whole days at this point and I'm still having alot of fun. I'm not very good at PvP so this actually gives me a reason to play infinite.
I don't think they've said cross-core is "done" have they? I hope not. Gloves should be doable with minimal issues and we're still waiting for the remaining coatings.
We also need to push to get the kits unlocked. I see no reason to not make the helmets and shoulders from Mark V, Mark VI, the flood kits, etc. cross-core.

Imagine people were able to buy cosmetics as single items rather than bundles with a pricerange from 50ct - 2$ for each item. People would go crazy and literally spend a ton of money on it since it would be only stuff they'd actually equip on their cores.

I think to fix the facts that you can not get battle pass credits anymore they should make it so that the weekly ultimate reward gives you 100-200 credits, it would incentivize people to hop on weekly at least on top of the pre existing weekly rewards

all 343 has to do is give everyone the option to unlock everything, like in Halo 3. at least this way the people who are lazy & would rather spend the money can do so. also, i believe items specific to the battlepasses should be exclusive & never come around in the shop, because that way it gives a sense of uniqueness & incentive to buy the battlepass & not rob everyone who put the time in. similarly, i had an issue with bungie handing out recon on halo 3 because hardly anyone had it because they just couldn’t put the time in for it.

I feel like if they made a separate section for head and body armor effects that would help too. Like i want to mix and match helmet/armor effect for example having a flood mohawk while also wearing the flood body effect as well.

Dear 343, I have been a fan of halo since Halo Reach’s release in 2010, I have played and completed all halo games.
I have been playing Infinte since it’s beta where I was in the flights. This is my feedback for you on what to add in order to make everyone happy.
•Cross core knees, wrists, Boots (with ankles), utilities and chests are all we need now for full cross core.
I can only really find 1-2 coatings that allow me to have a nice military coloured primary with a white secondary
•Adding HR-H5 vehicles and HR-H5 weapons to sandbox
•Better armour coatings that actually fit with halo lore
•The rest of the missing HR customisation, Operator, Military Police, etc…
•Enable players to purchase S1-S4 vaulted content from the store
•Allow players to play as elites in a sub gametype of firefight just like on reach (not necessary but it would be extremely well received)

My friend was very excited to play halo Infinte with me and so he installed the game only to end up uninstalling it from his pc due to how controlled what he could and couldn’t do was which is a massive shame.
How to fix coatings:
•Make all coatings purchasable at all times from the store unless they’re a weekly reward, you could quite honestly have colour palette packs in the store like how WARFRAME does which would give players incredible amounts of choice for their armour colour customisation with just an primary and secondary option to change in a palette.
If halo is going the store route, make it similar to halo reach.
Then as player sink hours and earn credits then the store can have an actual purpose.
Sure have a currency buy section for those that may want to get to items quicker but make it an environment worth investing time in.
Get kickbacks from popular modes made on forge if a lot of people play/share/save it.
Build around what’s available
One thing I hope they fix is the armor pieces that are sold in bundles gets two sets of shoulders if that bundle has 2 different shoulder pieces. Some of the bundles right now, like in the Omega team set, has 2 different pieces on each shoulder, but you don't get two sets to give it a more symetrical look. Like the IMA/BARZITAN piece looks awesome, but its only available on the left side, so its a tiny bit frustrating
I really liked the 1000 credits you get back in the battle pass now it just sucks you don't earn credits anymore
You forgot about the cross core chest attachments, that’ll be way more important then knees or gloves
343 just need to incorporate armor through the progression system. Having players unlock armor through gameplay is something every halo game should have. But also having hard challenges you need to complete to get cool armor. Such as “ninja players 4 times in a matchmaking game”. Something that makes it seem like you earned that armor. However in terms of the shop 343 just need to lower the prices, none of this “ohhh a lot of stuff is cross core now sooo it worth more!!”. No that’s not how it should be, it’s so scammy to do that to your playerbase. But also allowing players to buy individual items from a bundle would also be a huge improvement. If 343 did these two things with the shop, then almost all the problems players have would go away.

I just noticed one of the reach poses has an AR in the picture but a commando when equipped we need a way to change the weapon in poses

The only reason I actually bought the battlepasses was because of the 1000 credit cashback. I still haven’t finished season 2’s battlepass so I’m just gonna get that rather than any store bundles
Just gonna say this here for some ideas that could help infinite
1. Challenges give credits and xp
2. Personal score/10 = extra credits at end of match
3. Personal care rank gives a credit multiplier i.e. bronze gives x1, silver gives x2, and gold gives x3
Option 4: 1000 points in a match per 1 credits
My spartan is the mark IV set all white with a black visor. Simple but SO clean
I'd like to see a little more menu customization. I never want the main menu and loading screen of Zeta Halo to change. 343 should take a page from MCC and Fortnite, and let us customize our menu screens.
Even in the Armor Hall, I'd like to see some customization. I absolutely despise the fracture cores, and I want nothing to do with them. Mark IV, Mark V [B], and Mark VII are all I care about. I'd like to have the three of them together in the armor core. Being able to have our cores in any order we want would be really nice.
Hey! Love your content as always! I was hoping we could maybe get a video of some of your recent clips, as you havent done one of those in a little bit! I love watching your playstyle and it has helped me get a ton better. it's so cool to show some of my friends and family who i get to try out the game just how good some people can get. Also, a video of advanced tips, playstyles, and movement would be so cool. Maybe even get to map specific strats. To get advice from the top halo players is always a treat.

Out of all things, I want a color wheel for the next Halo. I can save up money and buy like one armor set, fine. But the fact that colors are locked behind paywalls is absurd.
Yea that’s why I never played this game that much, colors not being behind payment were the last thing keeping me playing bc at least it didn’t feel forced at all

I think Infinite needs one big content update that can make the entire game feel fresh again
My ideal update would be as followed:
- 1 New Weapon : Bruteshot (power weapon)
- 2 New Vehicles: Falcon and Banished Skiff
- 3 New maps (one of them being Blood Gulch)
- 2 new gamemodes: Classic FF and Grifball
- 2 new forge items: Pelican and Phantom with working seats for Ais
- A new 50 tier battlepass with the Mark VI armor core
- 1 new Ai (personally want a Sergeant Johnson Ai screaming down my ear)
Finally I’d like to see an update to Campaign, not a story expansion, instead all the new weapons and gadgets introduced in multiplayer moving over with maybe short sidequests to acquire the gadgets
This is a lot for 343 standards but if they dropped something similar to this you’d wouldn’t get much complainants for a while, allowing them to put more attention on their next project and drop the occasional small updates for Infinite afterwards
Honestly in a perfect world 343 would get rid letting the game be a free download for multiple like every other halo game that way the shop isn't their main source of revenue

Firefight Heavies should have been the SOF event
They probably don't want to make grinding career rank on firefight *too* easy. The odd games where you get bandana on from the start by RNG and grab a hammer or a rocket early can be very lucrative on XP.
A pistolfight mode with unlimited ammo the upgraded sidekick would be sweet though.
New update has had way more bandit blanks than season 5. I'm constantly having to 5 shot to get shields down, and 3 shot plus beat down is now inconsistent.
This CU felt like a step back from the direction of previous seasons.
We need the ability to buy items individually or as a bundle for all armor bundles if I need to I'll work out the kinks for it and make a video explaining why it would be one of the best updates that halo infinite could ever have
If they do end up rewarding players for time spent for credits... I think it it would ALSO be wise at same time to give the players that rank 1-100 world wide in certain skills extra credits too.
Example: mint Blitz sits in multiple top Playlist he gets the better rewards. Outta the top 100 since he's in first place say for kills(not sure if you're atm )
Say since I'm rank 50 in driver assist then I could get credits also but not as much as the players that place 1,2 or 3.
This would definitely motivate many to put the grind in the long run and would promote more hours spent and give ppl more objectives or goals that inspire them to grind halo more
I commented this on another video, but I feel the weekly rewards should be at most 500 credits instead of the crappy emblems and charms no ones going to use. I know they're doing the tv show helmets now but those can easily be put for free in the shop much like the hcs winter coating at launch. This way, 343 can kinda justify their large prices because we have a free alternative for credits, and if you're short a couple then people would be more willing to spend 5 or 10 dollars for the extra credits to get the armor they want.. I know there are plans to add a sort of exchange shop to get past weekly rewards, but I'm sure there is another way to implement getting the points rather than using the weekly rewards.
The weekly ultimate reward should include 100 credits with whatever armor, emblem, etc is there.
They need to add some sort of customisation that you can unlock from the campaign like xp for battle passes maybe? Maybe not but just something a little bit more, im not looking forward to having to buy a couple of the seperate events to get certain things from battle passes even though im still missing out on things that just won’t be released anymore anyway or the things that are vaulted I guess, even the same with store items there’s such a limited choice and most of it right now isn’t the most appealing in my own personal opinion though! I would’ve really liked the CE armour set
honestly going with your idea of allowing us to earn tiny amounts of spartan points, maybe have to where if you finish 1 weekly challenge you get 50 spartan points, but then thats also all you would get for that week

Even if they didnt do a battle pass and just had a bunch of operations with the store kits but they made a bunch of classic skins for the premium pass like they did with the AR I would have been fine with it, may have even preferred it to a battle pass
Make the ultimate weekly challenge 100sc rather than something most people wont engage with. That way if you consistently engage with the game you can purchase the next premium operation, or you could save it up for something you actually care about.
They should a daily login giving you an amount of currency. That way as long as you log in every day, you keep getting more. Call of Duty Infinite Warfare did this system back during it's lifecycle and it worked well imo. Also, they not only need to put more rewards back into the game and the passes, but Really lower the prices of the items in the shop. Yes, it's a free to play game but part of me feels even making it "free to play" is the biggest issue as to why the shop is getting more and more expansive.
I hope they'll get kneepad and glove crosscore on the next update. As much as I want chest crosscore, I don't think the assets are compatible with cores they were not made for. Parts would either clip into the base core or hover over them. Hip accessories possibly have the same issue.
In regards to pricing, it has always been expensive. $5 cat ears was too much in season 1. The current price is ridiculous. Maybe give discount base on rank/experience to encourage people to play more? The better a player is, the steeper the discount they'll get?

I’ve never bought a bundle in a shooter. I’ve bought battlepasses and when I was younger I bought CSGO cases but I wouldn’t ever pay the price for these bundles or any of them across gaming.
I would actually consider paying and giving in to microtransactions if they made good armor sets with at least s few attachment options

Totally agree with your last couple points. Game was just starting to build up steam and good will and they totally wrecked that momentum. The prices are absolutely absurb. I’d buy some of these items in the $1-$5 range, but there’s no way I’m spending $20 on the Mark V. Frankly, mark V should be one of those included in the game since it’s a legacy design.
At this point if they give us a battlepass with full content and no filler and without the 1000 credits to earn again I'll take it. The seasons is what always brought me back to grind the game.

Increase in Sandbox (personally an SMG drop UNSC SMG, Plasma Rifle, Spiker & whatever vehicles).
Bring back the Battle Pass or Lower the prices & let us buy individual items. Along with maybe increasing Operations to 30 tiers & actually fill it with worthwhile items (LESS EMBLEMS & WEAPON CHARMS & XP BOOSTS & COATINGS OF SIMILAR COLORS WE ALREADY HAVE!)
Maps! Especially more open BTB maps & just Squad Battle Maps (I know more are on the way but it's all from the community. Not that that's bad but what have 343 been doing over there? Just one dev made map that's all gray AGAIN & only for arena?)
Earnable credits through playing. Halo is life. I love other games but Halo is home, even if we move homes & I'm not happy about the new place but eventually we make it suit how things were somewhat.

Since Halo Infinite has launched it has been a very inconsistent relationship, very love/hate. You earn our admiration & then go & pull the rug out from underneath us. Ugh! The next Halo project better be Halo 3 x10 or the whole community will rip 343 apart & we'll be back into another 10 years of meh Halo. I don't want that! Infinite was a foot in the right direction, even if that foot is a bit bloody & bruised. I have been waiting for the forgers to make me something. I am creative but not in the original sense. I have an idea that I want to rerun all the halo campaigns in the infinite engine and with forgeable AI and a covenant pallet that is totally possible. The only thing I would need for them is to add in the ability to change the banished color pallet to a covenant one for the AI, and then for them to add an Elite Core. If they do that the only thing I would still want is a playable ODST core, but I know thats asking for a lot.
I love how reasonable your views are Mint! Balance indeed. I understand that the shop is required to keep the company afloat. I’ve been supporting 343 in past seasons by purchasing the pass and the occasional bundle - but this update was just insulting, a massive swing in the wrong direction. It made me commit to boycott the shop, regardless of how good the armour pieces look.

We absolutely need more weapons/vehicles in Infinite. I personally would love to see more maps also, specifically for BTB (I heard they're adding more in the future, but don't know when). As far as the macrotransactions go, just lower the prices, bring back season passes (even if they don't give as much/any credits back) and have at least a small amount of credits earnable. I really do think those shop and pass issues would be less annoying if we had some more content. 1 new map isn't enough (even worse for me since I only really play BTB, firefight, and recently ranked).
It would be really cool if 343 would take even 10 - 20% of the cosmetic options from the shop and then lock them behind achievements, kind of like in H3 where you had to get sword kills to get the ascetic elite armor, etc. They could also give us a way to earn credits by playing the game. I don't necessarily have a problem with microtransactions, especially when they're only for cosmetics, but free players need *some* kind of reward structure that makes them want to keep playing
Crazy they do this but we don’t have castle wars or griffball. Modes you could easily create with the current toolset. Not only that, but there are so many compelling forge maps and game modes I’d love to try in matchmaking and I’m not willing to mess around with the crappy custom browser for. How can you have infinite flexibility at your fingertips and cycle through the same bland maps and playlists everyday?

If were gonna stick with the costing system then it needs to be improved, take Destiny 2's shader systen as the example. Being able to mix and match different shaders to different armor pieces. I personally want to an improvement to a color wheel but also keep the costings as speical patters, textures etc.
Can call me more of a traditional player. Halo 3 fell in love with the CQB helmet. After many years I've returned to it and matched it with a CQB or Grenadier left shoulder and odst right shoulder. Also always be a purple spartan with a gray secondary color and a wolf emblem
They need to bring back battle passes, the store prices are way too expensive now. If anything this last update is making me lose faith in 343i all over again.

3:55 I didn't see your last video, but count me among them. I expected the Omega Team bundle to be around 2400 or whatever the Pilot & Skymarcher bundle was. 3800 is a big ask. And the Stanchion model itself is all I want from that bundle, no way I'm paying ~$18 for (functionally) ONE THING.
