This playlist includes videos related to CA Inter Costing marks weightage, syllabus, study material, the previous question paper with suggested answers, RTP, MTP mock test paper.
Cost and Management Accounting is paper 3 of CA Intermediate Group 1. Objectives of CA Inter Costing syllabus are:
(a) To develop an understanding of the basic concepts and applications to establish the cost associated with the production of products and provision of services and apply the same to determine prices.
(b) To develop an understanding of cost accounting statements.
(c) To acquire the ability to able to apply cost information for cost ascertainment, planning, control and decision making.
The CA Inter Costing Syllabus is divided into two modules. The syllabus of CA Inter Costing is divided into 15 chapters:
Module-1
Chapter 1: Introduction to Cost and Management Accounting
Chapter 2: Material Cost
Chapter 3: Employee Cost
Chapter 4: Overheads: Absorption Costing Method
Chapter 5: Activity Based Costing
Chapter 6: Cost Sheet
Chapter 7: Cost Accounting System
Module-2
Chapter 8: Unit & Batch Costing
Chapter 9: Job Costing and Contract Costing
Chapter 10: Process & Operation Costing
Chapter 11: Joint Products & By Products
Chapter 12: Service Costing
Chapter 13: Standard Costing
Chapter 14: Marginal Costing
Chapter 15: Budget and Budgetary Control
Costing is a scoring subject and is loved by most of the students. This is a practical subject and before solving any question your concepts must be very clear.
ICAI's Study Material should be your first preference whether you are taking coaching or doing self-study. No matter what anyone says, the best book for CA Course is ICAI's Study Material.
You can easily score exemption and high marks in the CA Inter Costing exam if you solve maximum questions for every concept. For this, you can refer to your coaching institute's book or any other book.
While preparing for CA Inter Costing paper always start with the basic concepts and read the theory well. Understand the formulas because learning them can create confusion in the exam.
There are 10 chapters in the paper of costing and out of which 6 are easy and can be easily finished up quickly. These chapters include operating costing, marginal costing, materials, budgetary control, contract, and integrated system & reconciliation. These will not take much time and can be completed in a few days.
Costing is a scoring subject and if you study it with the right approach you can easily score exemption in the CA Inter Cost and Management.
