Thank you! I did not know those panels came off. My stove does not have those give away knobs on the panels like yours does. You're a life saver!!!! 👍👍
Yea I think I had a screenshot in the video if i recall, otherwise here it is: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CB449YP7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Great video. I read the whole manual that came with our Grand Teton (PS130) and nowhere did it tell us to do this. I kept telling my husband that there were openings at the top of the plates and ash must surely be going behind there. Thanks for the instructions!
0 rpm is normal. Our models don’t come with the rpm sensor. Check out this video. I talk about that and the other settings 😊 ua-cam.com/video/1w8UnqAiXEc/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
I liked your video because you have a nice rundown of the interior cleaning. I didn’t know about the baffles. However, I wanted to learn more about the annual cleaning with regard to any inner tube cleaning out ventilation, exhaust flu cleaning. Good video!
We can’t seem to figure out what’s going on with our Grand Teton stove, it’s like it’s throwing a lot more pellets and it’s filling the pot quick. We have cleaned it and reset it many times. Any suggestions?
Thanks my guy, the manual leaves a lot to be desired. Just got one. Caught the comment on only being able to change between eco1 and eco2 when shut off. Good info!
Watching from France and new owner of a pellet insert. Inserts are a bit more tricky to feed and clean as everything is squashed in the chimney breast, still getting to grips with cleaning. Mine seems to produce of a lot of ash so daily clean is a necessity, the back plate is fairly awkard to remove so for now doing it monthly unless the insert starts having lots of misfiring. Thank you for all the explanations which I found very useful.
The CiW stove I have does not have a burn pot. I bought the unit and no pot. Just a rectangular flat base opening DOAG. The model is a model 200. Would you know what type of pot to buy Sir ?? Maybe a aftermarket higher efficiency unit ??? Thanks
.....i never knew the back panels could come off, I have some cleaning to do tomorrow and I bet that'll help loads with the heat. (I've not looked yet, but) So you have a video for cleaning the fans?? Or the cleaning they recommend after burning a ton?? The manual is very dry when it comes to "clean after a ton of pellets burn" and it's the fan/filter/motor??? :/ I feel inept when it comes to this and I don't want to have a problem... Thank you for the video, again the monthly helped a lot
@@EmOsPaZcAt666 not yet. I need to clean my own fans. Lol but I’ll make a video when I do! I have two pallets worth of pellets through mine so far. It probably needs it.
@diaryofageek OOOOOOO goodie 😅 I've got... I think that an a little more an all I've been doing is panicking because I can't find any instructual videos for that. Maybe a side panel or the back but... I've popped the side off and all I'm seeing is wires and the back is a bit difficult. My bigger fear is the exhaust pipe and that needing to be cleaned... I will be looking for your Ton cleaning
In my testing your Exhaust temp should be in the 275-425 degree point. 275 being P4 and a low flame. anything higher than 425 or so is kind of wasting heat out the exhaust, and even around the 275 point is almost too low. Mine runs on ECO2 P3 24-7 it will run on P3 until room temp is made then goes down to P4 automatically to "hold" the temp. and mine has the white ash on the back panels. The buildup is hard to prevent, it also depends on pellets. I vac my burn pot out about once a week (every weekend) i think i have stuff dialed in and have decent pellets. I think this is about as good as we can get with this type of stove.
I clean me entire burn chamber, pot, under pot, glass, either side of pot every day, behind the panels once a week. But your missing the ash tray and taking the sides of the entire system off and vacuuming out around the blowers and motors. Alot is pellet dust gets inside, best to clean that out. Pellet dust will when collect on the circuit board. Just a FYI
it would be different between us.. the settings can change with pellet types, length of flue, cold air intake (hooked up or not) even outdoor temperature can cause you to need to adjust things. Make sure your flame looks proper, check out this video, its not our pellet stove model but its a great video to help understand what the flame should and should not look like. ua-cam.com/video/OEKmTtpFLNM/v-deo.html
Hi! I re-watched your video for monthly clean, which is currently what I do for weekly clean. My question is when should I be using this snake with a brush on the tip? Should I be snaking this up the hole or trying to clean the vent?
@@andrewdaley7851 door seals tight but not over tight? Using a piece of paper? Clean behind he panels? Check out my basics video if you haven’t. Are you are actually frying the blowers? What’s the motor coil look like?
That’s under user settings. Set it to eco1. But it will only “stick” if you make that change while it’s off or shut it down then restart it. You can’t start it in eco2 and switch to eco1 while it’s running/burning. Eco1 will shut itself off and look like it’s powered off after it gets to your desired temp. Then about 5 degrees of drop it will fire back up. Eco2 will only switch to a lower flame once temp is reached then back up to whatever P setting you had it on before it dropped to P4.
Same exact one I have ! Thank you, so helpful!! 🤩 For some reason my pellets keep flying out of the burning pot when they’re being dropped, any way to stop this? Also, struggling to understand my pellet stove on eco2 , and the exhaust levels needed as well as my blower. I don’t understand how they work together to adjust my levels. Pellet stove was handed down to me . 😅
Yea that seems to be a common issue. Some people have taken their pot to a machine shop and added 3/4” to the top rim to stop that. Mine hasn’t been bad enough to need that though.
The exhaust settings are more about what the flame should look like. I found this video to be super helpful, I actually had to turn my “smoke” or exhaust fan to negative numbers to get my flame correct. Now I have very little ash and my exhaust temps stay under 400 for the most part. ua-cam.com/video/OEKmTtpFLNM/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
One more reply 😂 check out my other video, it’s a bit long, but has some info I wish I knew earlier! ua-cam.com/video/1w8UnqAiXEc/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Thank you for another great & very informative video. Just curious, what ash vacuum did you use before this new battery operated vac ? I'm thinking of getting the Cleveland Iron Works ash vac sold @ Tractor Supply because I can get it for free with my T.S. reward points but I haven't seen any reviews on it.
Thank you so much. As someone who is a visual learner, these two pellet videos have been soooo helpful!!!
After watching your video pulled the back panels behind the fire pot. Couldn't believe how much was built up. Running so much better, thanks again.
Awesome! I’m happy I’m helping save other from some of the headaches. ☺️
Thank you brand new home owner and had to buy one for heat! I love it so far and you really helped me when it’s gonna come time to clean her

Glad it was helpful! How long have you had yours? Might be neat to see how clean or dirty it is if you never have cleaned it yet.
Question about "Status" Exhaust fan at 0rpm and what about a code for system?

Stumbled across your channel. Great tips, thanks. Your stove seems like a similar setup as mine Cleveland ironworks 130. Again thanks for the insight.

Is it starting with the igniter ! Mine is no longer getting hot I have to manually ignite it.

How do you suggest clean the vent pipe from the square hole there out
I just bought a Grand Teton after having a Harmon for 20 years. Man, I miss that Harmon….
Very helpful video, we had some exhaust codes and it may just be the baffles need cleaning. Thanks so much

How do you know if the igniter is bad or it’s something else
An ohm meter across the igniter wires or temperature gun/thermal camera only two ways I know.
How do you set the damn thing where it kicks off at the temp you want and then turns back on
That’s under user settings. Set it to eco1. But it will only “stick” if you make that change while it’s off or shut it down then restart it. I’m not sure, I think it was something Menards sold. It had a black metal can. It worked fine, but it was super loud. My doggo’s didn’t like it. 😂
