One problem w/ the voice though, its TOO clear. When he started talking to the solider at 2:00, it sounded more like commentary than a conversation in the video.

Good (bad?) news! Offblest was nominated for the "sick-ass OCs" category in the First Annual Suxxy Awards, but since it was apparently too good to win, I walked away with an Honourable Mention for Worst Good Video! Thanks to all you lovely folks at Facepunch for nominating my semi-decent video and I promise to do better next time!
The only reason why this video stuck out in the Suxxies was because it was too damn fast. Just slow it down by 1.5-2x and you'll have a pretty good action video.
Also that voice is unfitting. But hilarious.
You are such an amazing animator, it would be awesome if you made a part II for Offblest!

Lol, this is really good, you are really good at animating, and as much as people seem to not pay attention to it, your use of colors and lighting is fantastic. (but a little oversaturated in the beginning.)

+Natan It could just be that since in SFM all playermodels are spawned in as red players and have to be changed into blu players the animator wanted to save him/her/itself a bit of time. Since there are so many red players in this SFM, it would be a lot easier to keep them red rathe than change them to blu.

I agree, you comment on everyone's vids, if youre right or wrong about your comments it kinda gets annoying. So stick to your own videos and they'll do the same
Except this isn't really complaining, it's criticism. Complaining would be something along the lines of 'your camerawork fucking sucks'. However, Ulti's letting me know that the reason why the camerawork isn't up to scratch is because it's a bit crazy, and the guy made Sky Fortress, so I think he knows what he's talking about. He comments on everyone's videos not to criticize them or demean them, but to help them improve. I think. I'll take his criticism and I'll use it to improve in my later films. So it's not all that bad.

Love the animation style. Not a huge fan of the lighting but the animation makes up for it
I personally FREAKIN LOVE THE LIGHTING! But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Lukeme9X Personally the lighting is great, but could be 200% better.
By that I mean the intense reds and oranges work great on the sniper who is mostly blue. But when it comes to the RED's it becomes a bit undefined making it hard to see the impact of Sylis'es (did I get that right?) moves. Plus the fast moving camera means that without definition everything becomes a big orange blur at times.
The action and animation is great, but hard to see at times from all the camera movements/lack of defined color. If this was a night scene with cool blue light on the red hills and intense white lights illuminating the scenes the film would have much more defined lighting.
But that's an opinion. Think of it as you will.

This really should've gotten a Saxxy. The voice acting could've had more volume, but the voice itself was hilarious; it really fit with the hilarity portion of the video.

Silas is muh original character (do not steal) so I had to differentiate him somehow, and I figured the South African accent is the antithesis of the Australian accent so I made him South African.

Wow, this is the most astonishing action sequence I've ever seen in SFM! Amazing job, sir.
I got dizzy too many times during this video, so many fast-paced shots that have too much going on in them, some that appear for like, 3 frames like the arrow hitting the demoman's head...
If I had some advice to give, it would be to slow down some of these shots. Too much going on in a small time frame can be disorienting to the viewer. Since you have five minutes for Saxxy Awards entries, I feel like it would have been more enjoyable to watch had you slowed down or minimized the action in some of the shots. I liked the video as a whole, just it was a bit difficult to watch. Good work either way. c:
Don't get me wrong, I like fast paced action. The shots that were longer than at least 2 seconds demonstrated that he was able to do this kind of animation well and not let it be boring, which is great. Only thing is I wish that there were some shots that stayed around for longer or weren't even in. There were about three that made me go and watch it again in slow motion because there was too much happening within a few frames.
I agree 100%. I made this when I knew a grand total of Jack Shit about cinematography, appropriate camera angles and cuts, etc. and nearly all the three frame long shots are because I'm lazy

Altan Tulga Hey, this is his first go at animation, and frankly for a first go, it's very impressive. He could use some mentoring on camera angles and pacing, but otherwise he has nailed posing, and the slower bits between the dizzying action sequences are done mostly life-like too. All he needs is some practice with the cinematics and he'll be doing very well.
