What Dwyer did was not only incredibly brave but on of the most selfless acts ever record on television. The love he most of had for his wife and children is unmatched by anyone to this day. The fact that one man admitted to lying to receive a lighter prison term just goes to prove how prevented our justice system can be when used as a political tool and not used to seek justice. What a sad story in American history we truly are the modern day version of Rome.

yeah, my cousin sure appreciates missing a month from school after devoloping a literal life crippling anxiety disorder from having the pleasure to witness this man's "selfless act" Thank you so much Mr. Dwyer, your family gets a million dollars, and the rest of us get to see your dead slumped body with oceans of blood spraying out the top engrained into our fucking synapses for the rest of our fucking lives. Fuck that man, reality just knocked, it said it would like to have whatever you are smoking.

Dwyer was later found to be innocent and never took any bribes. Those men lied to save their butts not giving a damn about Dwyer's non-involvement! He did this not because he didn't want to go to prison, nor did this tragect suicide mean he was guilty. He did this for the love of his family......to those who ruined and drove this kind man, as in the evident look of his family's eyes, to suicide will live with their lies and deceit for an eternity! Human kind can be caring, loving and giving. But it seem more and more we have become selfish, self-preserving and down right evil!

Budd Dwyer haunted me for years. I was home because of a snow day. I was watching WPVI in Philadelphia, waiting for Hogan’s Heroes to come on WFIL. Dwyer, Gary Heidnik, and the Frankford Slasher were what I grew up on. Funny story about Budd. My sister, who was a toddler, didn’t see Dwyer’s suicide. Needless to say she became enamored with the name Budd. Every carnival game we played that summer, she played Budd. And she won every game. She died in December, and guess what her son’s nickname is... Budd.

A friend of mine wrote a song about 20 years ago called "Guilt is For Free". Part of the lyrics went that "Innocence is expensive and guilt is for free". My self, and a group of other friends wrote some dialogs around this idea, and presented them as brief sketches at a local theater.
The Budd Dwyer case always makes me think of that.
He was most likely as innocent as they come. But he took the expensive route to show that he was, and wound up being declared guilty, on the words of those who took the inexpensive route and were set free. He would have to have carried that with him the rest of his life had he not killed himself. The others would have walked free, and nobody would even know their names after a couple of years.
Guilt assigned to Budd was easy, and cheap to come by.
    Innocence cost him his life.

NO fucking point of making the jury look evil when the deed's done, what would be the motive for reopening the investigation and who lead said investigation? If you are talking about Lenin, then I believe his last thoughts were "What if there really is a God." He spend his whole life denying it and treating religion as an opium for the masses, purge it from his "ideal" state, and then... he faced death and what might be beyond it. Who wouldn't have doubts?
In Poland recently a former communist dictator died. At his deathbed he called for a priest, but his wife disregarded his wishes, and he died before he arrived. So there are precedents.

I was in first grade when JFK was assassinated. We were sent home from school and most businesses closed as no-one knew whether or not it was orchestrated by the U.S.S.R. and the start of world war 3. Then at home we were watching live TV as Oswald was walked through the garage and Ruby gut shot him. Mom came running into the living room, her having been listening to the radio, to shut off the TV and have us go outside and play. Things like that you just never forget. I hope as many people as possible watching the Dwyer conference didn't have color TV. I've done surgery. It's exponentially different to see real blood in color as opposed to black and white.

Dwyers suicide was live. It was shown on CNN. I remember sitting on the couch and watching it. Later the same day it was edited. I will never forget that scenario as long as I live. He shot himself so quickly, no one expected it or knew the damage he had done to his head. There is a man or a women asking if there was a doctor available. That was so tragic.
