@@airgunsofidaho4886 if you decrease the regulator pressure you'll get more shots per fill. This rifle is way over gassed for .22 cal. It needs a lighter hammer spring.
I like the way this gun is laid out. AEA is gaining a following and hopefully a service center/support with parts to match. The selling point for me being an accuracy nut is the fact the gun is regulated with a gauge for it. Nice again! Great video bud. God bless!
Nice review, we chatted on AirgunNation (I'm Stretch). I also have it in .22 and reduced the regulator down to 125 bar (it came from the factory at 190) and with the transfer port at 10 o'clock (66% closed) I'm sending 25 grain slugs at about 900 fps. With the factory setting it was sending 30 grain slugs super sonic. There is no shortage of power with this rifle. It will handle the heaviest pellets and slugs easily. What this rifle really needs is a hammer spring adjuster and a lighter spring. Then you could adjust it for just about any weight slug you wanted and get way more shots per fill. I'm getting 56 shots between 905 and 895 fps per fill with my current tune, but I think with a lighter spring I could get a lot more. Loud? Yes, it's very loud. Even a DonnyFL Tatsu isn't enough to quiet it much. It's pushing a lot of air which, again, I think I lighter hammer spring would help fix.
Lighter striker might be the answer. It's been tested several times and there are 'ideal' ranges of striker weights for a desired power output. A heavy striker on a weak spring will pogo stick and bounce, but a light striker has less tendency to bounce.
I Have the 357 big bore standard, 4500 fill and 3 washers added, i have not shot it at this time because of weather and working 12hrs but very soon ill be sighting it in, and shoot a string over a chrono
I have that same gun and had a big problem with the washers and I only had to in mine so I wouldn't recommend. Without the washers it is still getting dang near the same speed. Maybe 15fps slower but not much. Another thing is in order to get your high velocity with the washers you have to fill to 4500. If you decide to keep the washers I wish I the best of luck mane.
@@dougiefresh3767 My .30 cal slammed itself apart after 3 tins of pellets. The hammer spring needs to hit the valve really hard on these AEA rifles. That and the high pressure needed to shoot at the higher velocities is a recipe for disaster. It also now has a blowback. I think the .22 version would be a bit better as it doesn't have to smack the valve as hard to get into the higher velocities. Oh well, will be putting mine for sale on the Airgun Nation classifieds once I get new Orings. Hopefully with time they improve. But then again, it's made in china.
