I believe L.Matsumoto already wrote this chapter, and planned it as a mid story, he already made clear that Heavy Melder is a midpoint between Milky Way and Andromeda. (Just like Balun a midpoint between Earth and Iscandar-Gamilus Twin Planets). but since story progress isn't even there when decisions to make The Movie is made. he decided to lend Rintaro (or Toei Doga) a chapter draft which also included a scene where LM himself is also inside 'The Cheapest Booze in the Universe' saloon, even grapped Tetsuro's shirt and drag him inside demanding him to listen to Lelieuz's song (A machinewoman who's also a sister to Lieutz in the original Manga/TV Anime,). and when Lelieutz playing her songs, (almost) everyone sobs and cries, Matsumoto however was strangled, battered so hard to the point that his eyeglasses broke. done by none other than the same fat (and possibly white) woman (?) who might be a kind of h o e. (i don't know why this happened or he wanted this scene to be less depressing and more hillarious).
In Captain Harlock: Memoires de l'Arcadia. there's indeed a character named 'Professer Reiji. (in Japanese translations his name is written with Katakana, just like a magic cat Yayoi owned in Queen Millenia TV Anime) who did lead an archaeological expedition to the North Pole only to be hijacked by a Mazon spy who already infiltrated his team. he was founded later by none other than Maetel. who found him half frozen by the North Pole and activated a beacon to signal Arcadia there before returning to the 999)

Masako Ikeda. eventually she's recruited to voiceact Maetel. but I'm not sure if Leiji Matsumoto recommended this Voice Actress or Toei Doga's decisions. but on Tetsuro. i'm very sure it is Toei's decision since she's very much worked with Toei doing various young male characters throughout her entirety of voiceacting career, especially Son Goku and his sons in Dragonball series.
I can't imagine that it was intentionally based on the Master's inspiration even if someone else made the decision.

The image of the development sketch of the female lead originally intended for Star Wars was paired with a drawing of Kei Yuki that was part of the pitch sent to Toei prior to 1977, the year the manga was released.
@@LeijiverseI believe that those Star Wars designs date all the way back to 1974/1975, and come mostly from the creative mind of Ralph Mcquarrie. I do believe that Star Wars influenced anime and vice versa, but I’m not sure the timeline works out to where Harlock would have influenced the original Star Wars designs. Still, the resemblance is uncanny!

Note that Takara did influenced the anime. many gadgets in the Anime didn't shown up in Manga. such as Vollet (ボレット) mini combat craft which is a part of Cosmowing 'Bomber'. Note that Matsumoto DOES NOT desing Cosmowing nor Vollet. and the name is not his ownership. since Takara reused Vollet name later on some toys. one in Transformers G1 (Super God Masterfoce), the other occasion is ... after a merger with Tomy, the same minifighter as part of Dia Battles II for rebooted Diaclone toyline. (and looks very similiar!)
While Blue Arcadia is very much aerodynamic (very streamlined hull). it is quite a lackluster because.. lack of dorsal gun battery while the green 'd*ckhead' one has. I think the Blue Arcadia is designed during Yamato hype so it needs to have Yamato esque looks.

But she's very limited with her ability to utilize that knowledge. I figured fans would prefer to be the more active characters, but you might be right. Having Harlock on top just felt right.

Too bad this product is Sold in Japan only. outside Japan everyone knows Wakunaga as an owner to Food Supplementary product pills (a rather silly product I'm not really fond of it. actually i've grown up with it and I don't really see a thing good investing on it). and not serious medicines like this Oidon themed lotion packagings.
Stevens universe is politically correct filth and I disagree about Lucas taking anything from Yamato it was already being made although yamato defintiely took off of star trek.
Steven Universe aside, I believe I did say, specifically, that Lucas did not have to be personally inspired by Matsumoto for the Master's inspiration to be a part of Star Wars.
