  • I got a call a while back from a fellow wanting to sell his Massey Ferguson 265 Farm Tractor. Supposedly the clutch was needing replaced... Turns out it was just the multi power lever got banged to neutral. What a Super Great Deal on this Massey Ferguson 265 Farm Tractor.

Your story regarding your character and honesty restored (even by a little) my faith that there are people out there who care about other people. I am looking a buying one of these with forks for $5500 which in my area is a deal. Just waiting to see whether it's gas or diesel and I'm probably gonna pick it up. Thanks for a great video!

hi Heather & Cecil. That tractor was an honest purchase by you. The guy just wanted it to go to a good home. So don't worry about that. But i expect it will come in handy over the next few months. i.e. as a mule hauling stuff around, once you put the forks on. You can store all your tractors etc under your pole barn in the future. Keep safe and do what you have to do. :-))

Nice deal Cecil, I'm happy for you. Good on you for being straight up and honest with the seller. Three cheers for that seller as well, you deserve and need a tractor around your place so happy all-round for this deal. You're right about the hydraulic lines...they're cracked, I noticed as well. I'm always happy to see an upload from my favorite Northern Ontario couple! Cheers

It’s close to 70 F down here in Pa.- going to go outside and cut some bushes - planted some autumn olive years ago along the border of my property - big mistake - the stuff is growing all over the place now - got tomato - lettuce and pepper plants growing in the cellar right now - waiting for the good weather so I can start planting - seeing all the snow you got up there makes me glad I live in a somewhat warmer climate - take care folks - the secret to a happy life is to be satisfied with the simple things in life and to appreciate what you have - Joe

I have kinda been busy but watching for a notification and had none so thanks to this one, have your word that all is well on your side of the pond. I was going to do a search on my own to see if this had happened. One time before I had to unsubscribe and then resubscribe but it is working so not to worry.... Just think. roof trusses being lifted by two tractors at once aught to make it go easier. Once positioned, both of you can pull a lever instead of the rolling them up and on!! Hopefully the kitchen is in working order for the mrs and weather is to break for spring. Do to global warming, it has been staying cold longer. Hard for me to figure out but not in my pay grade. Do be well and maybe I will catch the two of you on one night

Seriously Cecil, you need to find a box blade to use on that driveway as the thaw happens so you won't be dodging shell craters this year. You'll likely wonder why you didn't get one a long time ago. With a little work you can build up a crown in the driveway and ditches along side so the water runs off and doesn't form mud holes.
And get a tarp or something to cover up those pants. ☺

    • @SkinnersOffGrid
      @SkinnersOffGrid  4 роки тому

Good morning Capn. I built a box blade years ago and liked it.....Maybe I'll build another one someday. Lol yeah I just took off my coveralls...I'm glad I wasn't wearing my long johns ;-) lol.

I didn't notice the larger size much until you climbed up on it. Then I could see it's bigger. Almost 10% more HP sure won't hurt either from the old 165. Great deal, I know you'll get your money's worth out of it.

Starts right up, good sign. In all fairness, you and your friend, did the right thing for each other. Honesty is falling short in today's world. It might seem silly to you and maybe others but, consider finding some rear wheel weights or make yourself a rear ballast box. Will really help you in snowy conditions. You got yourself a good tractor. I haven't kept up with your live show but, I do my best to keep up with your YT channel. Great video as always. Cheers :)

Not sure if you are familiar with how multipower works but keep in mind when the selector switch is in Multipower LOW there is NO ENGINE BRAKING, the tractor will act as if you shifted to Neutral when going downhill, you are then in for a ride one tha will never let you forget to have it in Multipower HIGH afterwards. I have two Massey's that has multipower, a Massey 35 deluxe (gas) and a Massey175 (diesel). I also have a Massey Ferguson 10 garden tractor sort of like a lawn tractor that has Vari-speed that will make that little tractor to have I believe from memory, , it's been awhile since I have used it 12 forward gears and 3 reverse gears. The engine has been swapped from a 10 horse Tecumseh to a Predator 13 horse engine, Original engine was removed because of the solid state Ignition not supplying spark to the plug and they aren't available anymore as a new unit and most of the ones you can find new are way too expensive almost 100 dollars US each.

    Hi Cecil and Heather!!😀😀
Can't wait to see it with the tin on it. Does it have the Perkins in it?? It really runs nice.
With running the loader from the belly pump it seems to be a little slower than the 165 .
    Looks like a great deal!!😀😀
    Take care my friends!!😀😀❤❤
Ps. Still doing okay on this end.

The 265 MF does have a Perkins engine it's a 3.9 L 4 cly. 236 ci. the best engine Perkins ever built. Later on they put it in the Massey Ferguson 373 pulling 71 hp and the put a turbo on the same engine 3.9 L pulling 92.5 hp in the Massey Ferguson 3070 tractor that a much larger tractor then the 265 but is more fuel efficient because of the turbo. I can pull a heavy 6500lbs 2615L Bushhog and use only 3gal per hour with my MF 3070 were as the 265 is rated at 3.8 gal per hr.
