People are saying the Pacers are lucky, but they built their roster to have massive depth. When your opponents have to play their starters all game and you can rest, your opponents get injured. Not really luck.

JR hurt his shoulder on a slide in charge, Bogey had someone fall on his foot, and Robinson had Embiid grab his surgically repaired ankle. When everyone was relatively healthy, he played Burks, Sims, Precious, Boggy, Deuce, and Hart off the bench. And that's before Randle got hurt when we were on a nice run dude. Mitch was already out. With Mitch, you would've had 12 able bodies, but you can't play everyone in the playoffs. Rotations shorten because the games mean more and you can't afford, Burks to have a bad shooting game like he did most of the reg season after he came to the Knicks. You cant have Sims have silly mistakes like he did yesterday, that's why they were not getting playing time, in playoffs games one or 2 mistakes could decide a game. If everyone was healthy, I bet you JB, Donte, OG, Randle, and IHart would start. And Deuce, Boggy, JHart and Mitch would come off the bench, what more could you ask for? What Burks showed in the past 2 games, he didn't show in the reg season, of course you're not gonna trust that he suddenly finds it. Is it nice to see goin forward, yes, but nobody expected Burks to give this team anything in the playoffs.

Thibbs should've have used his bench more in the regular season to build their confidence. Indiana has a rookie and a sophomore playing meaningful minutes in these playoffs (Sheppard/Nembhard). And those guys are second rounders which Carlisle developed during the regular season.

This is Thibbs fault. In games 1-3 Josh hart played 48, 48, 43 minutes. Donte played 44,44,44. Jalen played 44, 32(missed the 2nd qt when he got hurt), 38. The 4 games OG had played before he got hurt 47,50,45,42. Thibbs will get you to the playoffs then run you ragged, get players hurt and lose.

There is NO ONE available for them play that could give them productive minutes. Do you need to add some depth ? Absolutely and they can bolster the roster in the offseason but this too limited argument is ridiculous considering no Knick cracked the top 10 in minutes played this year
@@robertromero8452 Yes they have injuries. But what Thibbs is doing isn’t helping. The Knicks still have 12 active players. He needs to stagger Jalen, Donte and Josh’s minutes so that they each play no more than 38 minutes but you have two of them on the floor at all times. He’s also going to have play 9 players not 7. The main 3 plus Hartenstein, Precius, Mcbride, Burks, Shake, and Sims.
Thibs never has an additional gear for his teams come playoff time, they overachieve during the regular season then wilt in the post.
The proof is in the results since he left Boston.

He was playing his bench. Donte, Hartenstein, and Josh Hart were the Knicks bench.
Robinson got hurt landing on a foot, so Hartenstein became the starter and Sims took the bench spot.
Randle got hurt in Feb, so Josh Hart took Randle's spot. Achiuwa played the bench.
Grimes got traded for Bogdonavich. Donte took Grimes' spot.
OG took RJ Barrett's minutes after the trade.
McBride took IQ's minutes on the bench.
Once OG got surgery from bone spurs on top of Randle's injury is when the Knicks started playing heavier minutes overall. Randle's injury was bc he got undercut in the air and landed on his shoulder.

Perk and Thibodeau are both right. Even if you have a full bench, you cannot play unreliable guys this far into the season where every second counts. Every team does this, they have 8-9 guys that suit up and the rest are just there for garbage minutes if they are getting blown out.

Maybe all the injuries have finally caught up with them. They are still standing essentially playing with only seven guys, which is a tremendous achievement. Regardless of what happens in the rest of the series, I'm proud of this team and I think Knicks fan should be. But I think a lot of the blame rests with Thibs. You can't run your starters into the ground, especially in today's NBA. When you don't give your bench guys minutes, how do you expect them to step up when needed? He does this to every team he's coached.
60% of the starting rotation is injured and none of that was Thibs fault just unfortunate accidents. If Thibs doesn’t play the players that help the team win then we lose bruh it’s that simple

They all got hurt during regular plays. Not because of minutes. None of them played extended minutes during the regular season. Especially not Mitch.

Only 1 Knick was in the top 20 (Brunson at 14) for minutes per game btw. 3 in the top 100 with the lowest being in the high 80s. Bulls, Lakers, Suns, Kings, Mavs & Bucks had two players each in the top 20 but sure Thibs runs his players into the ground.
The whole reason those people are missing is because of the style of play to begin with. you can't list the problem and say you must do this when doing this is what brought them to that point anyway.

Ik Perk didn’t go to college, but I don’t think it takes a college graduate to know that the more you play the more likely you are to get hurt. You can point to the injuries, but let’s be honest, why are Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, Og Anunoby, and Donte DiVincenzo playing 40 mins a game? That’s insane. Even with the injuries you have to move guys up, that’s why you have 15 men on a roster.

Pacers should have been 3-1 game 1 the Refs played against the Pacers. Haliburton is up there as the young guys to watch. Pacers went to the finals in the in season tournament. Haliburton PER from sept-Dec was on par with Curry's first mvp season. He got injured and also hard to maintain that. But Haliburton showed he has a MVP mode in him. He just needs to be on that level for potentially 17 games remaining.
Guys we have like a 15 years sample size that Thibs’ method leads to his teams being injured and gassed this is not complicated lol. Smith, was saying the same thing, the injuries could have been avoided, you cannot ask a player to play 48 minutes nights in and nights out, that is a lot of toll on the body, Dante is not who we like to think he is, we have seen Dante now for a good span to know he can be great, but consistency is not his thing, then you are asking Josh Hart to guard Tyrese or Siakam, for 48 minutes, no rest. These are human beings, even animals gets rest, you can have all the nutritionist in the world on your team, we talking training and then you are playing on one day rest, yes Thibs ran them to the ground and now it is time to collect and the collection is happening smooth. Cowboys Fans and Knicks fans are the same, always wants more, instead of enjoying what you have, learn to appreciate and stop complaining, you are not yet to the level to win Championship, but the progress is great, keep making progress, and stop getting in your own way.
