5 Vampire Comics You Should Read

- About to hit you with a top 5 list, this time vampire comics. There might not be as many good ones as I'd like but there are a few that have vampires in them that you MUST read. Here's my list!

What ive read of American Vampire has been amazing so far, Skinner is great as an antagonist and Pearl's development is both believable and justified. Im glad to hear that it maintains that quality. These Savage Shores and Little Monsters sound amazing as well, as someone who also enjoys learning about history the former has jumped up on my must reads for the year.
I hope enjoy both! I think you'll love Savage Shores.
Mike Mignola's Baltimore anthology series, set around the First World War and a few years after that, is pretty good. I thoroughly enjoyed that one. Best of all is that it has a completed story arc. You're not left hanging.
I'll have to check it out!

I've just looked through my mammoth collection to add to this list so here goes in no order.
1. American Vampire.
This is outstanding, from the characters to the art work and story's.
Sadly let down ( but not entirely) by a convoluted, badly written last book in the series...that said everything up to that I loved.
Sold my entire trades collection a year ago and this reminds me I need to buy the 2 omni's covering this series.
2. These savage shores.
I loved this tpb from the superb story to the sensational artwork.
3. 30 days of night.
I wasn't impressed by this at all though it needs a reread. I thought the film was miles better.
4. Batman - Bloodstorm and Red rain trades.
Both need a reread as it's been ages but I thought they were ok.
5. Fever Dream - G.R.R. Martin.
I'm a massive Martin fan and avid fiction/none fiction reading aswell as comics and Fever Dream is a superb novel by Martin.
Based in Mississippi in the mid 19th Century following a group of sadistic vampires.
Sadly...the graphic novel has poor art throughout and doesn't do the novel justice at all.
Brutally violent though.
6. Preacher is amongst the finest run put to comics.
I have the Absolutes and I never tire of reading through them.

Whoa never heard of fever dream. So you would say the novel is a must read?

Obviously Martin is widely known for his sensational " Of Ice and Fire " Game of thrones series of novels but he's also written many other books in different genres.
Tuff Voyaging is an amazing Si - Fi novel that I heard is getting adapted into a comics series.
I have the 8 hardback graphic novels covering the first 2 books of the Ice n fire series. These are brilliant. It worrys me though as I've yet to hear if they're carrying it on into book 3 a storm of swords... haven't heard anything but maybe they're looking for artists.
Fever Dream is a superb horror vampire novel steeped in 19th Century Mississippi blood and river boats...a brutal page turner.
Like I said the graphic novel really doesn't do it justice unfortunately...needed a way better artist.
If you like your novels absolutely read Fevre dream. You won't be disappointed.

@@geminisundone for sure I read ice and fire way before the show and loves them all (except feast was okay) so I'm down to check out fever. Thanks for the recommendation!
The 2nd book I still do remember even after a few years since reading it due to the historical India setting

I always encourage people to write and to be creative.
But I had never heard of a writer of a specific genre if we exclude Anne Rice who I know writes specifically about vampires. So you mentioned that you're a vampire comic writer, right?
I haven't read that many vampire books or comics, but I love vampires and have vampires in almost every story I write. They are kind of a must-have spice for my recipe.
Great video though.
The vampire girl with high boots in the beginning of the video was almost 1:1 with a sketch of a vampire girl made by a friend of mine 18 years ago. It was astonishing to see this resemblance.

American Vampire From DC Black Label (Formerly Vertigo) If MAX or Netflix wants to adapt this In let's say 2030 or something they'd have my support on that front plus I've been pretty cool with most Vertigo adaptations (sans The Kitchen Y The Last Man and DMZ) since V For Vendetta and A History Of Violence

If you’re into Vampire comics check out Killadelphia, it’s currently still ongoing with 30 plus issues.
I didn't like the first two issues much but maybe I'll give it another go!
Vault Comics made a run for Vampire the Masquerade.

@@UltimateChance As a decades long VtM fan I didnt like all ideas they had, but overall it was a nice vampire story.
