Poké Cup (Japanese: ニンテンドウカップ Nintendo Cup) is one of the four Stadium Cups, appearing in both Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Stadium 2.
It is presented as being the officially-sponsored Pokémon League tournament, though unlike what would be thought, not all Pokémon are allowed for use. More specifically: Mewtwo and Mew are all disallowed.
The Cup has a level restriction on it as well, only allowing Pokémon between the levels of 50 and 55 to compete. In addition, the three-Pokémon team chosen by the player at the beginning of a battle may not have a total level sum above 155. This means as well that the six-Pokémon team chosen to compete can't have more than four Pokémon of level 55.
There are four levels that may be challenged; each level up must be unlocked by defeating the eight Trainers on the previous level.

I love how the team is a group of cute little guys and then there's Tauros, King of Gen1 OU
Now that the game is available on Nintendo switch online plus expansion pack, you can use this video as a guide to win tournaments with Rental Pokémon.
Yeah! I have read about a lot of people using my videos as a guide. Good way to plan on how to build a good team using rentals.

Dude, this is great. I love this game.
This is how Tobias' team looks like
Nice!!! :]
Abra is so powerful
Man, I have a pokemon yellow cartridge with all 8 badges, I'm just feeling a bit too lazy to get things together and grind out a team to beat stadium with. My pokemon are all about lvl 40-45, so I might grind them up to 50-55 and beat Poke cup, that would be cool.
Yeah take the laziness away and do your thing! i guarantee you you will be satisfied with the results.
First Like :)
So are there really shiny’s in the battles?
Not quite. Gen 1 did not have shiny Pokemon. Instead, the color of your Pokemon in Pokemon Stadium is dependant on their Nickname.
