Chris Carter never realized that he can't write good scripts anymore, and that the stupid 'mythology' part of the show always sucked. They should have stuck with Monster of the Week episodes for the last season and hired decent writers.
Or wrapped it up. Give the fans a final solid send off. I miss these two but I respect Gillian’s decision. There is nowhere to take the characters anymore and the mythology has dissolved.
Take me back to 1994... finishing up playing on my Megadrive (Genesis for my US cousins) just in time for my pizza to arrive and X-files to start. Great times.

On the contrary during season 3 to 4 they even hate each other. things settle later on, it says they even had an affair in the begining.
The X-Files is the best show in the history of television, in my opinion. The chemistry between the two of them is unrivaled. I am grateful to both Gillian and David for doing seasons 10 and 11, and of course I would like more. But even if they do decide that this was the end, I will always be thankful that they brought me such an enormous amount of exciting and thought provoking entertainment.

No. It's a show that doesn't age well at all. Pretty badly written and super cliched.
Such an intelligent pair of actors. You'd never have had the success of this show without two people who are not just reading lines. They fully understood and questioned the storylines. And Gillian is so gorgeous!
The Scully eye roll is iconic!
This woman is like a fine wine, it is insane. Aging just made her even more attractive and seductive.

@@alhassanait1749 Normally it's around 20-24 episodes. But Season 10 and 11 we're more like a mini-serie or atleast a short revival.
Just started watching the X-Files all over again. I'm in the middle of season 3. One of my favorite shows of all time! I'm 58 years old so I have watched some great TV shows dating back to the 60's. David and Gillian are great actors, and the chemistry was awesome on the show. There were so many elements to the show that are entertaining. There is Sci-Fi, comedy, drama, mystery and drama. The show also made you think about things, and question things instead of just accepting what you were told.

They couldn't stand each other for years during the original series, because they were literally around each other almost 24/7. They spent more time with each other than their own partners, & the insane schedule while always being in close proximity created constant irritation. Then Mulder went part-time, they had more time apart, and their relationship instantly improved, finally they became more friendly. Then the show ended, and they were apart for years. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and they got perspective on all the great things they'd done, & they startes missing each other. When they finally reunited to start discussing the second movie, they instantly united and became closer than they ever had before, both being older, wiser, & having an incredible shared experience from their past that would link them forever. Since that 2007-2008 reunion, they've basically become soul mates & best friends, which is what drove them to keep coming back to X-Files revivals- they wanted to work together, they wanted to get the band back together, & they wanted to have more fun adventures with their bestie. Very heart-warming journey, loved by all X-Philes.
One of the best shows ever on TV. My favorite.
And Gillian is still painfully beautiful.

Oh boy, so many years later and I am absolutely still in love with David Duchovny.
He was so FINE in X-Files...and what a great creative show it was ! The "monster" episodes were my favorites, but the sad emotional ones were great too....where the villain was much more subtle.
He is truly delicious. I gave met him several times and he is very sweet and funny as well.
Watched ALL 11 seasons - in order, no commercials on Hulu. AWESOME! These two originally had the most incredible non-platonic LOVE two people could ever have. They LOVED each other so much.
X-Files was why I joined Hulu when it first showed up. Back then it was completely free, without commercials, to watch the X-Files and other select shows. If there were ads, you had the option of only having to see them before & after the episode. Or watch a few in a row, then binge episodes without a break. Now I canceled it for the first time because it no longer provides value over effortless to find alternatives. ⛵⛵⛵

The X-Files is the reason why I'm so fascinated with Aliens. I was nine years old when this show came into my life. I loved it then, love it even more now. These two wonderful humans were born for this show.

The chemistry they showed years after years is extremely wonderful. I love these two and I am pretty sure that no couple can even come close to portraying the romance and tender caring they had for each other, that strong relationship and love which always glued them to each other.

Funny how their chemistry is so great on the show and yet they are oddly endearingly awkwardly polite and distantly friendly in this interview. I could swear that it's one of those cases where the onscreen chemistry is absolutely genuine and the reallife reserve a reflection of just how awful they know any attempt at following that chemistry anywhere would be. Sometimes you have the most awesome chemistry with people you are just so utterly and completely unfit for in every down to earth way.

The one trait I truly admire about the Dana Scully character is her beautiful scientific mind as an M.D. and her investigative prowess as a detective into the unknown which examined her faith to test what her reason and logic only perceived in the natural world.
As scully herself said:” smart is pretty.”
The way Gillian started with “so, David Duchovny..” had me laughing and I’m not sure why.

I love this show and it had such a huge impact on my life. I won't spoil it for others, but the way it ended was profoundly disappointing and these two very fine actors and their respective characters deserved much better.
Chris Carter shouldn't have been attached to S11. S10 was enough. Vince Gilligan & especially Frank Spotnitz could've written a better ending (& could in the future w/o CC's input & even if David & Gillian aren't there. If Fox EVER revives it, they need to be bold & move it beyond M&S. They can have a "legendary" presence but move it to 2 new characters. What was done in regards to their kid, the CSM was absurd. I liked Skinner's stand-alone episode. Several others too. One day I'll go back & re-watch but not ready to just yet.

Amazing. I can't think of any other TV series duo with that dynamic. Some alchemy happened in the 90s, never to be repeated.
I love "The X-Files". If they came up with a season 12, I wouldn't hold it against them. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). Honestly, watching this video really reminded me how much I appreciate and respect both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. They kept me glued to the TV for years. Always bringing something new to the X-Files, year after year. That's why, at least once every year or two, I rewatch the entire series from the first to the last season. It never loses its mojo.
Anderson said she doesn’t want to be defined as Scully. Got all dvd sessions love this show. No season 12.

I regret that i didn't watch this show before seasons 10-11 aired and i missed all this social media stuff. Can't even imagine how everyone were probably freaking out on Twitter at the time because of this. I watched all seasons for the first time only 3 years ago but i always will be rewatching this series now. It's simply iconic. Maybe not the best in terms of writing but definitely iconic
