Man.. the segment you shot without fins is insane. Only those know the level of control you are displaying here who tried this but let me tell you.. this is some next level diving right here
2:15 "address the global problem of poor instruction" this is beautiful that you did this exercise with people learning skills on their knees behind you
I really love your videos. I'd like to point out a tip you could try: your light cord looks uncontrolled, so it can get entangled when clipping/unclipping tanks. Try to make sure the cord is under the harness passing under the belt and the wing lower bungee. This will make the light cord to come from right above your armpit and that the cord will be always controlled and protected. Keep up the good job!
It's amazing that you guys finally addressing the mess there is surrounding the shit trainings and low quality instructors only doing this to follow a trend but not for any other reason
So interesting to hear about the true origins.. I only see that sidemount is everywhere now but didn't realise where it was originating from... dry caving !
Thank you for this video. As I have progressed in my sidemount diving I have had a real hard time finding good instructors and mentors in my area of Michigan. Even agencies like PADI don't even seem to teach some of the skills that I have seen on UA-cam and have had to practice and learn on my own.
Missed the premier 😢 your videos are so special I always feel like I need to be the first one to see it 😆 wow, wow and wow! What an amazing video again! I can only repeat myself, great quality, awesome shots, high level of skills, always full of useful and eye-opening info!! Love it, love the channel, love you guys! Keep up the brilliant work!
another good video! questions if you dont't mind. 1) i see your drysuit inflator hose is very long and you will extend it from the right to the left chest and plug it in to your drysuit inflation valve pointing to the left. why not just use a shorter hose and turn the drysuit inflation valve pointing to your right? 2) i see that you also put the drysuit inflator hose under your long hose. are you still able to completely deploy the long hose if you are doing it this way? will the cylinders valve extension not prevent the turret to turn outside?
You have a great eye for details. The inflator hose I used in the video was a quick fix and a last-minute replacement before we hit the water, as the one I normally use (which is shorter) accidentally broke.
@@flowstatedivers ah ok, no wonder, you tucked the drysuit inflator hose under your razor inflator hose to make it not flail around. 😀. as for the second issue, i.e. drysuit inflator hose over or under the long hose, i was trained drysuit inflator hose must be over the long hose and it is the only way for it not to be snagged. i tried the other way (under the long hose) and was snagged when i tried to turn the turret for the s-drill long hose deployment. i'm not good enough yet to tell what difference in the gear setup warrant for total opposite hose routing. i did see you are still using razor standard continuous bungee (i modded mine to be a loop bungee) but i don't think that's the difference...
@@joethong726 Hey to help here, the inflator over or under depends on where you stow the hose on the cylinder. If it is above the clip (as I do), the inflator hose must be over the long hose to deploy fully. If you locate the hose on the other side of the clip as seen in this video you need to have it under the long hose. No right or wrong there. Great video and role modelling Flow State as always :)
You really lost me there. @2:20 he routed his suit inflator under the LPI - just BAU. Then long hose last, over everything. Again BAU. I cant imagine a scenario where my long hose would ever be under inflator hose/s... 🤔
🚀 Reinforce your understanding. 🚀

This man master trim and buoyancy like I never saw anyone do. I had the same thought as you, its very impressive
"curiosity eventually outweighted their sense of self-preservation" 😅... probably the story behind any innovation.
As always, great video!
You guys have best quality diving training i've ever see. Please keep going as youre doing. Greatings from Colombia!

good point, that's exactly how we route the cable but I see on the video it got a bit crazy
2:14 How is your back-kick with NO FINS faster than my forward frog kick?? 🤦
Technique is everything
