Fray Bentos - Creamy Chicken Soup - B+M's - £0.89p - Food Review

- Following the very enjoyable Vegetable and Lentil soup from Fray Bentos I decided to buy this Creamy Chicken Soup ! So what was it like ?
This was a very poor effort from Fray Bentos - I lacked any seasoning and it was like coloured water - it was in no way creamy it was just very watery and very disappointing - I added some Black Pepper and Salt but it did not really do anything to improve the taste - I will not buy this again and I can not recommend this to you - I score this 3 out of 10
The best part of this meal was the crusty Brown bread roll from Lidl - - Розваги
Ain't nothing creamy about that watery mess in a can! I've tried that and I can concur with you on this one. There really is no taste. Enjoying the reviews and the walk-around videos! Wishing you and your wife the best at the hospital. Also nice to see Ted make his fluffy guest appearance in whatever way he can!
Oh no! I bought all 3 of the Fray Bentos soups & i'm dreading trying this one now 😅 i haven't tried any of them yet, but i'm hoping the tomato soup isn't a let down. Nice to see Ted, i don't think i've seen him for ages 🥰 Thank you so much Graham - i am looking forward to receiving your book 😊 Good luck with the hospital for you both 👍
Good Morning Kate, thank you for the comment - For me personally the Chicken just did not do it for me it was too watery and flavourless ! I hope that yours is better than mine was ! I still have a Tomato to go but I think my wife will be having that one - Ted is very much an outdoor cat and usually only comes in to eat and occasionally sleep - He spends his days and nights in the back garden laying on a Sun Lounger or under it when it rains ! he sits for hours watching the birds but never chases after them ! he used to until one day ! I came downstairs to find a Magpie sat on top of my television with fur in its beak and Ted sat under the Television missing some fur ! I caught the Magpie and let it go ! and Ted has never chased them since ! LOL - thank you for your kind wishes for the Hospital !! have a Lovely Monday :-)
@@grahamjenkinson3487 😄 Magpies are feisty birds that are fun to watch & so beautiful, but can be very nasty birds 👍
You might find some meat in the tomato soup because it isn't in any of their other products.

Hi Graham sad that this soup was so disappointing after the success of the Veg and Lentil. I tend to stick to Cambell's Condensed which I get from B&M and use as soup and a cook-in sauce for stews. The bread looks lovely. And a slumbering Ted. He's a bit like my Sox lies anywhere and sleeps in the most uncomfortable of looking places Cheers Paul
Good Afternoon Paul , thank you for the comment , this was dire it really was ! such a shame that they managed to get something so easy so wrong - Ted is very rarely still as he spends most of the time outdoors which is his preference ! I quite like Cambells condensed soups my wife uses their Mushroom one instead of béchamel sauce on her Lasagnes and it works very well and adds another depth of flavour ! Sox sounds like a typical cat they must be contortionists ! have a great Day my friend :-)
Very wishy washy my gran would have said ! The day trips I use are doing a trip to Whitby goth weekend on Saturday 2nd of November. They are yorkshire rose bus trips which you can book online or in Huddersfield. Your area dewsbury is route 1 . Hope all goes ok at the hospital I will be their this afternoon roo . Xx

I have been to a lot of Goth Weekends over the past 15 years ! it is always good for doing a spot of filming ! I am off to the hospital in 2o mins ! time will tell ! I'm thinking there is a conspiracy going on here Baxters bought the Fray Bentos name and all that goes with it and now it seems to me they have rebranded the Baxters soup to Fray Bentos. I don't think I will bother I normally buy the supermarket own brand which is 62 pence and I like that.

I bought the Fray Bentos soup simply because I had never seen it before and had never seen it reviewed ! I am with you on the Supermarket own brands they really do take some beating for quality and taste ! have a great Monday :-)
Pitty that this one was such a let down Graham i had high hopes with it after your review of the vegetable and lentil soup. And I know that Heinz soup is expensive but I find that i never have to season it ,but it's price is a put off unless you but the 6 packs. That's why the likes of Aldi and Lidl own brands are such big sellers even if they need a bit of seasoning but I don't mind that as I love cracked black pepper with my soup, i don't have much salt except with chips and any type of runny eggs. 👍👍PS searched on the Nephilim merchandise site but your hoodie was not there 😢
Good Afternoon Robert , thank you for the comment - Aldi and Lidl own brands are always good ! sadly this Fray Bentos one was dire - I like cracked Black Pepper it livens things up nicely but did very little for this very poor soup ! it is a shame that the Nephilim Hoodie was not on the site it could well be out of stock now due to the age of it ?
