    Thanks Joe. I've used this tarp configuration a few times now. It's really practical if the weather closes in. I don't know if you know but, if you need a little extra weather protection you can loosen the "flap ties" at the front and close them together. Use. peg or bit of cord to tie the loops and it stays secure.

    Joe, just so you and others know in Ontario it is an offence under the Provincial Offences Act to leave a campfire unattended. When you built up your fire and left, I am sure that if a CO had come along, you would have been charged. The minimum fine is $ 250.00 . I personally know 2 people who left campfires to burn down and went fishing. When they returned, the CO was waiting and they were both charged.

      Its also illegal to harvest trees on crown land, trees must be dead standing or windfall and a permit is still required. Its a misconception you can do what you want on crown land.

    • @rolandvachon9848
      @rolandvachon9848 3 роки тому

      @@DavePreissl Correct. If an individual wants to harvest live trees such as birch for firewood for a hunt camp stove, they must take out an MNR issued permit which I believe still costs $ 10.00 and must harvest in the Township where the camp is located.

    Once upon a time there was a guy named Joe. He changed the face of camping and everything we know. He went into the bush without any kush and his kayak he did row. Yet, he brought a flask and completed his task better than we could ever know. JOE im a huge fan from Massachusetts, my wife and I love what you do. As great as an outdoorsman and bushcrafter you are its obvious that you are a better man, husband and father than any of us could ever understand. Hey bro, when I do that shelter configuration, i don't use a long guy line in front. I cut another stick and lash it perpendicular with the center pole so that the back of the tent and the front awning are both trying to push it down but stays straight and you don't have to worry about clotheslining yourself on it once the whiskey kicks in. Give it a try.

    Hi Joe. I've been watching your videos for about seven years now. I know you were in a motocross accident. I hope you're getting better a little more each day. I as many of your regulars, miss seeing you, but I'm sure that many like myself are watching your older shows.
    Also, I gotta tell you. My sister bought a bike like you had. I told her what had happened to you and that I was worried the same thing could happen to her. (I didn't have a good feeling about her going to try it out for a second time...) Well, she went near a pit in west Quebec. After about a minute or so, a branch caught the back wheel of her bike and she went flying. The first thing she thought was that she was going to break her neck. She didn't but it was a close call. (She had no experience). She almost broke both shoulders, hurt her neck pretty bad, injured one leg and hurt her back. She almost killed herself. She should have gone to the hospital but because she would have had to wait 15 hours in hospital, as that's how it is in Ottawa, well, she didn't go. Instead, she went back home and took painkillers. (That didn't help...) This was about six weeks ago and yesterday, she decided to go see the chiropractor she's been going to for over two years. Well, everything was misaligned. Back, shoulders, everything. He "fixed" her up.
    She's been on her bike since the accident and will go back. I wish someone would steal it.

    Fall turnover is a good time for big fish (cold water species like pike walleye and trout) the problem that you might be running into is your lures may not be running deep enough or you aren't causing over any good structure for fish to sit on. Another problem is you had bluebird skies in the evening after a long day of on and off clouds...this could have been a contributing factor because the barometric pressure was increasing after a front and it shut the fish off and they aren't willing to chase down a fast moving bait. But whatever the problem was do not get discouraged if fishing were easy every time itd get mighty boring after a while

    A pro tip to you @Joe Robinet is to cut down everyting over 30 minutes to a part 2 or 3.
    I like hiking alone, but don't have the time to watch 1.5-2 hours videos.
    You can still post the full video AND break it down in pieces^^
    If ppl want to watch 2 hour videos they do. If ppl want to watch 4 parts of the same 2 hour video, they do.
    I bet your subscriber count will go up like a rocket!
    YT stats shows that 15-20 min videos are the top wieved.
