GBO2 GM II Semi Striker: They forgot to give it LV2 Maneuver Armor 💀

- This video contains two recent matches I had with the LV1 and LV2 GM II Semi Striker on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 400-450 cost raid with two melee weapons, a long reach spear and furthermore, it has an instant stun unlike the original GM Striker. It suffers from no Forced Injector, no LV2 Maneuver Armor, 4 seconds cooldown on both melee weapons, no stun accumulation options and low base damage for the melee weapons. I am a big fan of GM Striker and any similar suits, so I have been waiting for the LV2 Semi Striker for a long time. Sadly, they forgot to give it any meaningful changes for the LV2 version, no new skills at all. I hope that you enjoy watching!
The primary weapon of the Semi Striker is a beam rifle with 1650 power, 3.5 seconds cooldown, 90% heat, 17 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap, 305m range and 10% stagger value. This instant staggers but has both high heat rate and long overheat time, so the overall stun output is low. It can quickly stun twice in a pinch but otherwise has poor performance.
Its primary melee weapon is a twin beam spear with 1890 power, 4 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time and 60/34% combo modifier. This has pretty low power for 450 cost, having the same spear and combo modifiers as the 350 cost LV2 GM Striker. Though you can use it in the same way by abusing its long reach to attack enemies from outside of their tackle range, meaning that you are always a threat in close range even if your beam rifle is overheating.
Its first sub weapon is a head vulcan gun with 52 power, 30 ammo, 450 RPM, 6 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time, 150m range, 390 DPS and 2% stagger value. This vulcan gun is useless, awful DPS and no stagger value. If you are close enough to use these then just pull out your spear instead.
Its second sub weapon is a beam saber with 1785 power, 4 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time and 80/64% combo modifier. This has good combo modifier but like the spear, suffers from low base damage and long cooldown time. If you skilfully make use of both weapons in combos, you can deal more damage than you might expect, treat the spear neutral swing as a close range stun to set up your beam saber.
The LV2 Semi-Striker has 17250 HP, 16 ballistic/beam resist and 22 melee resist. This appears fairly durable at first, though it will take more damage than the average 450 cost raid due to only having LV1 Maneuver Armor . It fortunately gets LV1 Emergency Evasion, not every raid gets this, but it doesn't make enough of a difference IMO.
In terms of mobility it has 130 (133 including ground affinity) walking speed, 205 boosting speed, 60 thrust and 60 (66 including affinity) turning speed. It has decent mobility in general, but suffers from a poor amount of thrust. This is a problem that the original GM Striker doesn't have, less thrust makes it harder to threaten enemies with your long melee reach. It also lacks Forced Injector and Flight Control.
In conclusion, I feel that while the Semi-Striker is fun, it has too many weaknesses to be considered good. In theory it should be an upgraded version of the GM Striker capable of fighting properly at 400 and 450 cost, but I honestly would prefer the LV3-4 GM Striker in many situations. Semi-Striker has less slots, isn't levelled enough to take advantage of overtune parts, has less turning speed, no LV2 MA, worse durability, no shield, less walking speed and less thrust, though the melee damage output is in theory the same if the right combos are used. The only advantages that Semi Striker gets is that it has a dodge roll, an instant stagger and three melee swings. Having an instant stagger is helpful but you are mostly playing with raw melee anyway thanks to the high heat rate. I think that they should buff Semi-Striker to be more on par with the GM Striker in terms of skills and mobility, it would be nice to get better vulcans and shorter saber cooldown as well. Id be interested to see you do a series on mediocre/bad suits. It would be cool to see your performance on "terrible" suits and show how much you can push their potential. As a bonus there may be people who love certain suits and would be inspired by you to make them work.
TBH, some of the suits I like and play are already kinda bad/mediocre, but it might be really frustrating to do a series exclusively on those kinds of suits lol.

I def understand what you mean though, playing bad suits might even just boil down to perfecting fundamentals and watch out for quirks which could be boring in addition to be frustrating. i find it really weird that they gave this normal head vulcans instead of the late model one that the normal gm ii uses
was the 17 damage difference really that necessary in their view, or was it just a mistake?
I think it’s just because it’s a raid/ and a mistake. It should be the late versions like the normal gm ll and not the regular ones.

So sad how bad it is😭It’s my favorite raid. It needs so many buffs💀I’m talking like hsm, Weapon cooldown, Vulcan change, More skills and just a whole slew of other things. Vulcans are so dookie and are the wrong type as well.
Watching that Zaku in the beginning, is exactly why i dropped this game, stunlocking is just ugly and way to overused in this game, imagine not being able to play because players keep you stuck in place.
