I don't skate but that Nollie Tre Flip song is my favorite because of the oldschool vibe and the rest of the album was amazing too. I didn't really like the love type songs but Hopsin is young and he will be an even bigger M.C. Than he already is
Hopsin can rap his ass off, his multi-syllable rhyming ability is up there with Hip Hop's best, he has a very Eminem influenced rhyme scheme, and hardcore battle lines that I really enjoy listening to. I really did enjoy the delivery, flow and lyrics, but I thought the album was just okay. I'm actually a bit surprised you guys at Dead End Hip Hop enjoyed it as much as you guys did, I guess I'm somewhere in between Dead End Hip Hop's thoughts and The Needle Drop's opinion of this album. I thought a considerable number of the beats were very uninspiring, and more than just a few hooks were very, very corny, and some just sounded like he was trying too hard to be catchy. You can't say that we should dislike this album because YOU don't like the hooks. Y'all bugging. If you don't like the shit just don't like it. Damn.
nice review. I loved this album. my favorite songs off it are hip hop sinister, hop is back, rip your heart out, whats my purpose,i need help. good production and great lyrics.
what´s the deal with love songs on rap albums? back in the days (talking in general) rappers didn´t use to make love songs (or am i wrong?), but later on, the same rappers are including love songs on their albums. and new up-coming rappers are also catching on this trend.
Louis Nevers yeah ok, but it still wasn´t so wide-spread like it is nowadays. i understand why eminem, lil wayne and such rappers make love songs - because they´re mainstream and want to sell more records. but rappers like hopsin, he´s underground. and at least i think, that the majority of his fans are males, not females. not to mention that he hasn´t released any of his love songs as singles. so it really just seems like "unwanted material" to put love songs on his albums.
I feel like when Yeezus was released, people either really hated it or overrated it and said it was "the best album." I even had to give it time to marinate. I was iffy on Yeezus the first time, but now think it is such a creative and innovative project. Maybe they would think differently about it now.
I feel like the people who hate Hopsin so much are just people who dislike his personality or his views on certain things. Maybe if they listened to the music instead of critiquing him as a person, they'd actually have more of an educated opinion on things.
***** At the end of the day it's your own preference, but there is just some ridiculous hate I see for this guy that I cannot understand. If you're a fan of hip-hop, I don't see how you can't appreciate Hopsin.
I hate Raw but i love this. I think this is one of the albums of the year. I'm with Myke. Except you guys were critical of the last 3 songs but Whats My Purpose? Damn that song was the shit! 2nd to last track
I been waiting on this review I really liked this album. I for the most part agree with Myke. I liked even the sadder story songs. Also I usually don't even really like longer albums but with this one I never once got bored. Pretty great album that I really liked and thought it was really dope. Only thing I didn't care for was the corny hooks but he never had a bad verse and for the most part the hooks didn't ruin any of the songs. 7-8/10 for me.
what i have yet heard from the album was pretty cool. unfortunately i didn't have the time to listen to all of it. ***** is there any chance you could review the new snowgoons album "black snow 2"? i'm really looking forward to it (also since they are from germany too) and i'd really appreciate it.
Agreed with Myke, Kbinge, and the blue hat guy's opinion of this album. Have to listen good guys bad guys track again because many people in the comments really hate the song. Love all the song of this and definitely agreed to when ya'll was saying this album was only for fans who know Hop very well than new fans of his. Because I've been following his post status on Facebook quite every day or so before the album was released, and I actually understand what he has been through. Great album, and awesome review! Will favorite this.
I'm kinda bummed out, because I wanted to jump onto Hopsin about now, but this album was apparently made for his core fans. Trust me, I love those kinds of projects, especially from artists as experienced and with as much as longevity as Hopsin. But that just means I have to go listen to his other projects. I guess I was hoping this wouldn't be one of those albums that I had to study before hand to know. Another great discussion though, guys, I swear, a podcast out of this would be awesome. But for all I know there is one and my ass is too ignorant to know where to find it. Until then, keep it up C:
I will never understand the Hopsin hate. Aside from him being corny as fuck, he makes good fucking music. He's got flow, intensity, and makes good sounding songs. Hip Hop Sinister, I Need Help, Tears to Snow, The Fiends Are Knocking, What's My Purpose, and Caught in the Rain are all legitimately great songs.
I kinda agree, but his hooks are just cringe worthy, he is too preachy, his fans are just as bad as or if not worse that stans, and every time I listen time to him I feel like I am listening to eminem (nothing wrong with this, it is just that he needs to make himself unique). Other than that, I think he is a dope emcee, he has his moments. Raw is my favorite album.
currymonster Eh I won't argue there. Some of his hooks are actually really dope. And while some are cringe worthy, very few are legitimately bad. And yes, Raw is my favorite as well. However, I think Knock Madness is great as well and gets way too much hate.
***** Eh I like those songs quite a bit. I guess I don't mind the melodrama. The only song thing on the album that's truly laughably bad is the hook on Still Got Love For You.
I enjoyed most of this album a lot minus the love and some of the slower songs with the exception of "Still got love for you". That song was pretty dope, a highlight on the album for me. The intro was fire, the energy was dope. I was hyped for the album and the intro was the first song I heard and it set the tone pretty fucking good. "Bad guys get left behind" was funny as fuck. The album was pretty good, pretty enjoyable, a lot of the songs on there have some pretty decent replay value for me. Overall, I'd give this album a 6.5/10
thanks for giving an honest review! I personally think the whole thing was dope. only song I might think about skipping is gimmie that money cuz im not a huge fan of the beat
Can you guys discuss your views on this album and Because the Internet with theneedledrop? Because once again you guys disagree almost completely on this album, and I have a feeling you guys will disagree with him on Because the Internet too. Dope review as always.
Honestly, I feel the album was a 7.8/10 for me. It had some pretty bad-decent hooks and the production wasn't completely great either, but it is definitely an improvement from Raw. I think I like of people kind of are biased to this album because they don't exactly understand Hopsin truthfully (which I guess is somewhat understandable, but you can't knock an emcee who can rap really well). Overall, I agree with Myke and I feel it's a very good (slightly great) album. It has some flaws, but overall, it's pretty good. Love the reviews D.E.H.H.
I stand between Mike and Ken on this one . Nollie tre is super fresh although i don't skate I knew hop does so I caught on and can imagine him doing the tricks during that fresh screwed hook. Also the standout tracks like RIP your heart out and hip hop sinister are really really great and display his skill in a huge way but as Ken said if he did a full album that way he'd be one dimensional so he gave us some different flavors to try as well
Right. If he didn't, then it's too much of the same. When he does, we want him to stay in his lane. Let the guy explore his craft and venture out a bit. Nothing wrong with that as long as the songs are not bad.
You guys really should review Jon Bellion's album "The Separation". He is labelmates with Logic and this album is phenomenal in my eyes but I'd love to know your guys' thoughts
Pretty much agree with everything. I loved Hopsin's Raw and have been waiting intently for Knock Madness. While a lot of the hype got killed off by the wait, I still thoroughly enjoyed this album because having already been a fan of Hopsin I knew what I wanted to hear and what I should expect. Hopsin gets hype, he disses shitty rappers, he talks about shitty stuff that he's been through, and he gets real about what's going on in the world that sucks. His hooks are hit or miss, his singing can sometimes be too much, but overall he still makes great songs more often than not. While not perfect and not a classic, I also thought Knock Madness was a great album. Would probably give it an 8/10. Favs were definitely Hip Hop Sinister and Rip Your Heart Out.
this album was garbage, had no more than 3 decent songs....i prefer Raw...but he's still maturing as an artist.....and i am surprised Myke said that "you never been in love before"...that's not Romeo & Juliet type shit, that's Drake type shit
You guys are great, like seriously. Might be my favorite channel on UA-cam. However I totally disagree with most people on here. I found Hopsin whiny and just the definition of trying too hard. I didn't find the hooks as bad as some people are saying, but the lyrics? Blegh. Not saying you guys are wrong, but I just disagree. Keep up the good work.
I get why people love this LP, but I can't get behind it because he sounds almost exactly like Eminem. Not "oh, he's influenced by Eminem's early records." I think he's flat out copying him on some tracks. That isn't always a bad thing because Eminem has moved on from his first few albums, but I'm not interested in hearing deja vu. Invoking nostalgia is one thing, invoking deja vu is another. He's got a ton of potential, but he needs to flex and find his own sound. It's not what he's saying it's how he's saying it, and the beats he's putting his songs on. I can't be the only person who heard The Next Episode on Hop is Back. In summary, I'm not going to listen to this by choice, but In wouldn't waste a skip if it came on Pandora. Rating: C-
I'm sorry but I thought this album was trash, only 2 songs I can say I can listen to over again and that's hop is back and nollie trey flippin. the rest were either boring or trash. Raw was way better.
hitdoctor24 yeah I hear quite a few others who recommend those two songs. I don't exactly remember how rip your heart out sounds, I only listened to it once. hiphop sinister, I can understand why people like that song. I like the chorus myself, I don't listen to it on repeat though, I don't think it's trash though, just not all that special imo. the two songs I mentioned were the only ones that I could listen to more than once. The others didn't have the same effect on me.
***** At least you have some valid points. I recommend you check out Rip Your Heart Out again. Hop and Tech's flow on that song is impeccable. i also recommend his two newest singles. They're both great in different ways. They're called "Crown Me" and "Fly". The former is classic old school-type rap and the latter is a great eye opening song with a bit of a Nocturnal Rainbows vibe as far as the message is concerned.
hitdoctor24 I heard crown me, that's song sounds more like current trap rap with hopsin putting his own spin on it. the beat definitely sounds like a trap beat. at first I thought it was plain but then it slowly grew on me and now the chorus kinda gets stuck in my head from time to time. I still wouldn't call it one of my favorites by him tho. I haven't heard fly yet, looks like ill have to check that one out.
Nigga I'mma be honest I think DEHH is very partial to independent artists that are big on the internet b/c they can share the same audience as an independent, internet review site. IDK how they can shit on MCHG, and still have so many negatives about MMLP2 (but still remain positive) but be so like "well, it had some bad but is was still really gooooooood" with this shit. Like dude, I sense a serious front here, whether it's subconscious or not.
Uhhhh MMLP2 had like 6 good songs on the DELUXE. MCHG had NONE and this was good all the way around. Even the 'just good' songs were only faltering because of the corny hooks. The verses were still dope and Jay-z can't hold a candle to Hopsin. He's so whack, now. Eminem's flow is fucked 9 ways from sunday, too, now, it's irritating. Not that I ever really liked Em, cuz his voice irritates me, but 6 out of what...18? 22? That's bad.
Jesse Cormier Dude you're not telling me this album was better than MMLP2. I actually liked Hopsin MORE than Eminem the past 3-4 years and I can't even say that. This album sucked. And the one thing Em has kept his entire career (besides some pretty dope, provoking lyricism) is his flow.
MortalFluff Uhhh this Album was A LOT better than MMLP2, technically even cuz it had a lot more good songs. If you don't like it then don't listen and fuck off then. We don't need your negativity.
Jesse Cormier Just because YOU personally only liked 6 songs from mmlp2 does not mean other people didnt enjoy the whole thing. That's your opinion not a fact.
Jesse Cormier This is that same fucking Funk Volume mentality that gets me so riled up. Bunch of pussy niggas can't take legitimate criticism. The production on this shit was so samey, and the hooks were also incredibly samey and corny and unbelievably bad, nothing here is memorable. Lyrically Hopsin goes from decent to shit to horrible and back to decent without ever hitting a truly good peak, I mean this entire album is beyond weak. Dickriding Stans, jeez.
Well, this is a suprise. I thougth you guys were gonna be a little on NeedleDrop's side. I just didn't feel good about the project. I still feel that Hopsin just gives us who we're used to. I just wanted some growth. I didn't get that.
I understood what Anthony (TheNeedleDrop) was saying because Hopsin's production on the songs wasn't challenging. They didn't have many layers. They were just simple. In terms of the hooks and the punchlines, he said the same thing he said about Eminem on his hooks and punchlines: mostly bad but sometimes the punchlines can be good because there's some that they can get away with because of the cynical pottymouth personality that they both have. What Anthony was saying about Hopsin being bitter, Beezy said the same thing about him. Anthony took it further by pointing out that on his song "Good Guys Get Left Behind" that he can't be taken serious about being a good guy when he has misogynistic lyrics in that song and on other songs on the album ("Dream Forever" and "I Still Got Love For You"). He also can't be taken serious when he tries to be a morally righteous person when he is just pointing fingers at people instead of finding a solution to fix their problems. Hopsin's fans may have gotten what they wanted from him though so I that may matter more to him.
I don't know because Beezy noticed something in the album that Anthony noticed: a bitter person who can't get over his ex. He didn't have to express that on his album but I can understand why he would've wanted to have tracks like "Good Guys Get Left Behind" or I Still Got Love For You". In terms of having substance and morals in music, I believe Jarren Benton executed both better on tracks off his album like "Heart Attack" and "Dreams".
***** Well if he expresses his views in his music, then why couldn't Anthony just express why he sees why those might not work out. It's not like what he said was false.
Hopsin is not a terrible rapper he just reminds me of these "90's hip hop heads" and thinks anything after 2002 is trash. He bags anyone with a popular single but has the balls to tell you his women problems. The intro track reminded me of Goblin's self-titled track which now i can see how it sounds like Tyler was bitchin similar to Hopsin here. There is too much whining and bitching to give this a pass however you don't have terrible beats on here and great flows it's just that the lyrics were lackluster
So they gonna take chairs from the table and move to a different area trying to act like they did this on a different day... I'm on to you dehh. I'm on to you.
At first I thought this album was hilarious because if how corny it was, then it just made me feel physically sick. I thought it was terrible I can't believe you guys liked it
Tears to snow actually IS my favorite song, the lyrics are so Beast! and u guys do like faster, more agressiver songs like hip hop sinister with worser lyrics
"It just sounded like he was so bitter from not getting....ass..." Lmaoooooooooo.
That was hilarious lol
Had to catch my breath when he said that. It's so true haha
Stupid

The fact that you consider this album being good confirms that the faith is gone within Hip Hop.
I get so happy when DEHH uploads a new vid! Gives me another reason to stop studying for finals!! haha
thats not good
Holy shitt! Nice to know I'm not the only one

The general consensus on this album is hilarious. So, uh... when's the Because The Internet review coming out?
i saw in the description for their last vid that they were recording it or it was recorded so it should be coming soon

I thoroughly enjoyed this album, I thought it was a great piece and nice stepping stone for him.
I'm surprised they haven't said anything about I Need Help.
I LOVE nollie tre flip
Everybody can take the advice from nas on anything
and again, needledrop and dehh disagree...*head explodes*

nice review. I loved this album. my favorite songs off it are hip hop sinister, hop is back, rip your heart out, whats my purpose,i need help. good production and great lyrics.
but I wasn't feeling the love songs and I don't like the song gimme that money the style is just something I don't dig.
the guy in the red flannel and the mini fro makes extremely good points. he seems intelligant enough to fully understand hopsin like a fan would.
what´s the deal with love songs on rap albums?
back in the days (talking in general) rappers didn´t use to make love songs (or am i wrong?), but later on, the same rappers are including love songs on their albums. and new up-coming rappers are also catching on this trend.
Louis Nevers
yeah ok, but it still wasn´t so wide-spread like it is nowadays.
i understand why eminem, lil wayne and such rappers make love songs - because they´re mainstream and want to sell more records.
but rappers like hopsin, he´s underground. and at least i think, that the majority of his fans are males, not females. not to mention that he hasn´t released any of his love songs as singles. so it really just seems like "unwanted material" to put love songs on his albums.
THANK YOU MYKE! FINALLY we agree on a project.
How tf yall not like yeezus but 3/4 yall liked this ... Lmao
Cause it was overrated
No^
I feel like when Yeezus was released, people either really hated it or overrated it and said it was "the best album." I even had to give it time to marinate. I was iffy on Yeezus the first time, but now think it is such a creative and innovative project. Maybe they would think differently about it now.
stfu yeezus was a genius album. this is some 2nd grade shit AndraBeats
I was going to reply to this dumb ass comment, but Myke's comment does the job quite well.
Great job. Because The Internet next, please? Would love to get y'alls point of view on that one.
Personally, I think this album is better than MMLP2 and its the best hip-hop album of the year. This album is so real. Its sad he's retiring.
It is a good album, but not better than MMLP2. MMLP2 had facets that just make it better than knock madness.
+Jeeezsus nuts so your telling me Young Thug music's is good
that means he did a good job as a rapper if you dont like his music because of his personality. his music has personality
good or bad thank you so much dehh for this
The only comment I've seen so far that actually matters. Thank you.
Damn am I the only one that fucking Love DREAM FOREVER ???!!
+precise thegreat No
what i have yet heard from the album was pretty cool. unfortunately i didn't have the time to listen to all of it.
***** is there any chance you could review the new snowgoons album "black snow 2"?
i'm really looking forward to it (also since they are from germany too) and i'd really appreciate it.
Welcome to the internet where if you have a different opinion than most people prepare to be crucified
Unfortunately.
Theres so many tracks they dont mention like Caught in the Rain or What's My Purpose geez
Clearly Because Those Tracks are Too Whack To Even bring Up.
HandsDown1001 maybe in your opinon
sike
Y'all need to review Lecrae's new mixtape Church Clothes 2
Agreed with Myke, Kbinge, and the blue hat guy's opinion of this album. Have to listen good guys bad guys track again because many people in the comments really hate the song. Love all the song of this and definitely agreed to when ya'll was saying this album was only for fans who know Hop very well than new fans of his. Because I've been following his post status on Facebook quite every day or so before the album was released, and I actually understand what he has been through. Great album, and awesome review! Will favorite this.
Can you guys review Underground Luxury
You guys must review The Abstract and The Dragon!
once again I completely agree with myke.
Lets see a review for the new Illogic Capture the Sun album!!! Dope project from a the insanely talented artist that needs more attention.
Are you guys doing 'Because of the Internet'
As usual I agree 100% with C-Town
DROP THAT GAMBINO REVIEW , KINDA EXCEPTED MOST OF YA TO LIKE THIS ONE
Overall, I'd give this album a 6.5/10
Do
Throwback album reviews
I am a hopsin fan since raw and..I didn't like the majority of the tracks...the thing is this album did not meet the hype of the wait.
what instrumental is that in the background??
thanks for giving an honest review! I personally think the whole thing was dope. only song I might think about skipping is gimmie that money cuz im not a huge fan of the beat
I really liked his last verse on The Fiends are Knocking, I thought it had tremendous power and meaning in it.
I spent most of the video trying to figure out what it says on Beezy's shirt.
Hopsin knock madness was dope he was very clever and lyrical.
Glad y'all like this. Too many people hating. If you don't like it? Fuck off and don't listen then lol. Move on,.
+Cynima Rapscallion Yeah ;D
I loved this album tbh. 10/10
solid 2/10
12/10
10/10
I love the album
Finally !
Album of 2013 !!! 6/6 stars
Worst of*
I stand between Mike and Ken on this one .
Nothing wrong with that as long as the songs are not bad.
oh my goodness y'all liked this shit wow
You guys really should review Jon Bellion's album "The Separation". He is labelmates with Logic and this album is phenomenal in my eyes but I'd love to know your guys' thoughts
Mike was on that feefo "I like every artist cuz that's what he doooooes", "I loved the horrible hooks" type shit with this album holy cow.
Really? I said any of that? When? I'll wait...
Myke C-Town I wasn't quoting you man, I was making the phrase of the sentence easier to read.
Favs were definitely Hip Hop Sinister and Rip Your Heart Out.
you should should for sure do bti
Thanks for not being like Fantano and actually being good critics.
He never gives anything a good review. These guys give you multiple thoughts so after seeing them its hard to not say "FUCK ANTHONY FANTANO!"
You guys going to review Killah Priest - The Psychic World of Walter Reed? Shit is soooo dope.
Nollie tre flip and Rip your heart out were my favorite. If you skate, you'll know nollie tre flip is fucking clever. I loved the whole album
that rocksmith crewneck is fuckin dope!
In case anyone doesn't know the because the internet review was filmed and will probably be uploaded later
Can we get a because the internet review
review Terrace Martin- 3 Chord Fold
good review none the less
this album was garbage, had no more than 3 decent songs....i prefer Raw...but he's still maturing as an artist.....and i am surprised Myke said that "you never been in love before"...that's not Romeo & Juliet type shit, that's Drake type shit
Hahaha! Tomato/Potato. I was kidding, dude.
haha, thought so just wanted to know your standpoint.....keep the videos coming! (hopefully you do a "Because The Internet" review soon)
noveltyskateboards Yeah, man...should be out any day now.
Hop is Back, tears to snow, rip your heart out, nollie tre flip, i need help, hip hop sinister, lunch time cypher
I agree with the second one
The Abstract & The Dragon!
Keep up the good work.
dope album
Rating: C-
He is influenced by eminem and you can tell. But as for him blatantly copying eminem. And I don't hear next episode at all in hop is back
I'm sorry but I thought this album was trash, only 2 songs I can say I can listen to over again and that's hop is back and nollie trey flippin. the rest were either boring or trash. Raw was way better.
***** Raw is better for sure but how are Rip Your Heart Out and Hip Hop Sinister boring and/or trash? Those are two of his dopest, hardest tracks.
hitdoctor24 yeah I hear quite a few others who recommend those two songs.
***** i hated pound syndrome and fly was just atrociously bad and corny af. i think i'm done with hopsin tbh
Review the new Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony album - The Art of War: World War III
I Cant Lie. The Only Real Reason Why I Fucked Wit Dis Album Is Because Tech Was On "Rip Your Heart Out".
Does Feefo have gold on his teeth or some shit?
Review of Hopsin himself or his album?
Ralphie Brothaman eh
Hey Myke i think that guy is Kanye coming after you cause you aint got the answers! Lol
Cool review though. Keep it up guys.
So they gonna take chairs from the table and move to a different area trying to act like they did this on a different day... I'm on to you dehh. I'm on to you.
Hahah! The black Columbo.
At first I thought this album was hilarious because if how corny it was, then it just made me feel physically sick. I thought it was terrible I can't believe you guys liked it
hop is da bst no lie
"Hop Is Back" is hard and "Noile Tre Flip" is okay
i swear feefo like every album
