Tracy, I am excited to make this scarf! I didn't know about the razor tip, but I will be using it for sure. I also have a new appreciation for basting. Thanks, again, for another fun project.
Keep me posted on how it turns out✅ yes-basting is one of those necessary unjoyable steps BUT it will make this scarf perfect. 👍 I’m going to make more this week! So cute!
Tracy, I think hands down you are the BEST instructor on UA-cam. I love your "let's get to it" approach. I'm 77 yrs old and have always sewed or crafted something. (Last 12 years quilting) and I never fail to learn something new from you. Thank you and wishes for much success.
I cut my own faux fur when I purchase it. Joann's doesn't even know the technique. LOL. When I ask them to razor cut it the first time they said they don't have razors. So then I said I will cut it myself and show you how to do it so you have this knowledge. She was very appreciative. This is why going to 'real' fabric stores who sell fabric and sewing machines really make a diffirence. Yeah you pay more but at least you are getting knowledge behind the product you are buying.
I bought some poodle fur two years ago and have been to intimidated to try and waste it. I would like to make some into an infinity scarf, I will try to use your method :) Brilliant, the hint with the razor blade. Thank you again ❤
Tracey: oh....this is fabulous! I lost my scarf like this 3 winters ago and I cried 😢😢 I could not find one to buy in the fabric pattern I wanted. Now, I can replace it by making it , love 💕 it !! And I can make several for gifts too. Thank you for teaching us how to make this 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 you’re a wonderful teacher ! Well done 👏🏻👏🏻
w Wihat a great idea. I dont have a Joanns where I live unless I drive an into Austin , so I went to Walmart and they have a small selection of faux furs for only $6.50 a yard. No leopard prints but pretty tan wolf prints and others. I'm gonna make some as gifts for Xmas. Thank ou for another awesome easy to follow turorial.
I really enjoy your videos but I find the volume is too low. I have my computer on the highest volume setting possible. Not sure if anyone is having this problem. Can you adjust on your end.
Thank you for the feedback Heidi...this is an older video....I have since fixed my audio on my newer videos...Audio seems to be one of the tricky things to get right when making youtube videos...🤩❤️
Would like to make this scarf but the machine settings are important to me. Maybe I’m too new to sewing but I need machine settings, needle size and name of foot you used. Thanks b

Had no idea about the razor cutting tip. Thanks so much.
I did not know about the razor blade or the way the fabric had to lay. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it helped you! ✅💛
I use a walking foot on all my minky and faux fur. Seems to work great. Just purchased 2 yard of faux fur and will be making Christmas gifts.
I had no idea you cut it with a razor blade, great tip

I rhink your scarf looks so much richer than the Anthropologie scarf.I am going to try this one.
*_Thank you Joyce✅_*

Awesome. Let me know how it turns out for you. The faux fur these days is sooooo soft that you can barely tell the difference that it’s not real✅
Love this method!
I love to learn a great technique. I had no idea how to cut this. Thank you

Lovely !!! I love hand sewing ! I finish all my garments by hands . I find It very relaxing . Thanks for the great video !
I should learn to be more patient with hand sewing. I get frustrated at how it looks (mine anyway is a hot mess lol)!✅
Thanks for all the very helpful hints this you had to learn on your own
You’re welcome!👍💛👍✅
Thanks! I’ll have to give it a try. I HATE hand sewing too!

The price you got is a great deal! I didn’t realize Walmart had faux fur✅
I didn’t know!!!
Tracy, when are you going to offer classes in your home? Sign me up please 😄 !

Could this scarf be made with sweater material and still look great?
oh yes..I think a sweater scarf in this pattern would be darling❤️
Would like to make this scarf but the machine settings are important to me. Maybe I’m too new to sewing but I need machine settings, needle size and name of foot you used. Thanks b
I used a regular foot. A normal zig zag on back seam. And normal straight stitch. (By Normal = factory setting of your machine. )✅✅✅✅👍
I didn’t know about the razor method. Where can we get the razors? I’m from UK.
*_Hi Jenny...great question! They are regular "utility" type razors...you can find them anywhere...it's just a typical razor blade.✅_*
I saw this scarf on qvc and it had a zippered hidden pocket. Can you update your video to show that?
I will look into it✅
My fabric has the faux fur on both sides. How do I make this scarf with the faux fur that has no backing on the underside?
I'm not sure how you would cut a double sided fur Cheryl...I have not worked on double before...sorry.
Tracy. My fur does not have any backing on the fabric. Do I need to add some lining ?
Hmmmm if there is no backing then just cut as normal and follow the rest of instructions. ✅
