I had a sweet little dog that did not like storms also. I would put a little bed inside my linen cupboard, leave the door slightly open with the light off. She seemed to really like this quiet space. 💗

We get very loud thunder storms, as well as many occasions for fireworks.. We bought a calming plug in especially for pets. We put it in our downstairs washroom along with an igloo style dog bed. When a storm is coming the plugin goes on and he goes in there in his igloo. If it's very loud we add a radio and add a thick blanket on the igloo
The cookies look delicious! Your sweet dog is so cute following you around. Our Chi is deaf at 15 so the thunder doesn’t bother him at all now. We’re in Arizona and yes, we’d love a rainy day right about now.

I have three small dogs. One freaks out when it storms. He pants and wants close to me. We live in the country. So there are a lot of people shooting too. He’s now afraid of that too. We bought some calming treats. But I don’t think he will eat them. So I just let him sit with me until storms or shooting stops. The charcuterie board looked great. That is a huge board. I have never made one. And now I think I could.

Feeling the same way you are about the rain! We’re constantly getting rain this summer in Michigan! Usually we tend more to the drought side if things this time of the year. We finally had a clear day and spent it outside clearing all the overgrowth in the backyard. 😂🤦🏻♀️
I can't even imagine rain in the summer. Temps in the 100's and no rain for me in about 2 months. Really this is fairly normal. 🌻☀️ Poor Charlie😢.

I love my family and my husband, but I truly enjoy those very few times a year when it’s just me and the dogs for a weekend or a week. I get a few things done that goes quicker than when my husband is home like painting or doing a deep clean of the kitchen or our bedroom, I can sleep in the guest room without a problem but he loves our bed and has a difficult time sleeping in the guest room. Or binge watching a series or movies my husband isn’t a fan of guilt free. It’s nice to clean and bake and just savor all of it for a day or two before real life intrudes.
How fun! Got my Five Below slides after you recommended them. So good.

Hi, I wanted to suggest that next time your little dog is having a hard time with anxiety from storms or fireworks or loud noises to try a little lavender essential oil. I take a little almond oil or any type of natural oil and one drop of good quality, real lavender essential oil (I use Doterra) and rub on your palms and then rub behind her ears and on her muzzle. It really does help them, and then you can avoid meds or at least cut down on them. My daughter's dog was probably the worst case I've ever seen in a dog and one year on the 4th of July she was out of his sedative and she did this and he went to sleep for the night, she couldn't believe how well it worked. Also, I enjoy your channel, I had to stop in the middle of this one though and comment because I felt so bad for your little girl...I've had dachshunds too over the years, I love them.
