I get hit by the bombs so that Stygian does a followup charge and gets into charged state faster. When charged up, Stygian has higher elemental hitzones and takes +10% damage when enraged. With Challenger+2 on this set it's about 35% more damage in total. The goal was to maximize enrage uptime and get four charge cycles before killing it, but because the 2nd charge was slow, it didn't go exactly as planned. If RNG is ideal then Stygian will charge up quickly on its own and you don't have to use this trick (you can also run Peak Performance instead), but I think this is more consistent and fun. It's also a neat way to display SnS's ability to use items while unsheathed.
