Fun fact: this trend happened to me irl and it hurts to be told you’re too old for hugs. At one point, whenever my parents came home and they’d hug my little brother then they’d call my name I’d just reply “No sorry! I don’t want a hug!” Even though I did but it just hurts (mentally)...i just hug my stuffed animals for comfort
