Besides the amazing art by Tite Kubo, I love Bleach because of its storytelling. As someone who doesn’t really like the typical shonen stories, I appreciate Bleach’s way of incorporating its themes to its characters and how subtle it can be with the way it tells its story, something I never see in other shonen manga/anime.

Ichigo's development is excellent, both for him and for those around him, as we progress through the Bleach story we realize its small details and we even think "hey this protagonist couldn't evolve", when we reach the middle of the story, to begin with we see a much more mature and open Ichigo than in soul society.
Let's look at the case of Renji Abarai, their destiny was to confront each other but that friendship and rivalry was formed, and Uryu and Ichigo were forging more, the more friendship is their best friend/right-hand man.
But the turning point here is that Ichigo grew as a person and opened up. At the beginning he was the tough guy who had a good heart but a bad attitude, and when we get to the end of the series we see a calmer and much more composed Ichigo. closer than before.
Whoever says that Ichigo has no evolution, could he read the returned work?
There have been many misconceptions about Ichigo's character.
Since it was revealed that Ichigo is a Quincy, I've seen some pretty horrendous shots.
In particular, the guy is the embodiment of plot armor because he has an "ever-important" "power source" in bleach.
and when you look at this “analysis” at a surface level, you ignore the broader thematic picture.
Ichigo's journey is about finding balance within himself and his power represents the inner chaos of his father, Quincy and Hollow of his mother.
but what we see in Ichigo is that he unconsciously rejects his mother's parts of himself, constantly blaming himself for her passing, which is why he has this white knight complex, but always carrying this burden.
He forgets something important: to protect others and save his loved ones, he must first save himself and only after accepting all aspects of who he is.
    let it really become strong.
"Ichigo has no goals" is something I would say or think if I had never seen Bleach, but somehow a lot of people who have read or watched the series have come to this conclusion without me being able to really understand why Ichigo's goals don't. can be fulfilled. Don't be so ambitious.
Or demand that he obtain something in the conventional sense like Naruto and Luffy, but he clearly states in the first arc of the manga that he wants the strength to protect those around him, he wants to have the ability to prevent deaths like his mother's,because of his weakness. Now, you don't have to like Ichigo's goal or even think it's all that convincing, but saying he doesn't have one is low-IQ illiterate behavior.
    ...
Ichigo is a character built and developed under constant suffering and a gradual release from some of this suffering. It is surprising how his objectives are realistic and so linked to the most basic principles of survival and social life: preventing his dear friends, dad, sisters and "just people" from dying, not letting happen what unfortunately happened to his lovely mother.
Both Ichigo's constant suffering and his gradual liberation can be seen when, for example, he fights the Arrancar. He completely denies his hollow parts, but, throughout the battles, gradually accepts more and more. Compared to another character, we could say that Aizen, for example, is so chaotic because he does not have the balance represented by the four races from which Ichigo withdraws his powers (Quincy, Shinigami, Hollow and Human); four is the number of superstability. Ichigo's character is one of the most realistic. At first we can see that his behavior is exactly the same as that of most teenagers. He's not like other Shounen MCs who are always optimistic and happy and lucky. Ichigo takes a lot of L and makes some silly mistakes, but that's normal because people make mistakes and he learns some valuable lessons to improve, not only physically but psychologically. In the end we can see that he becomes more mature

Where do I even begin with why I like Bleach? It's the series that got me into anime in a serious way, the reason I procrastinate to watch other anime, it got me into manga (I honestly couldn't stop reading Bleach), and I learned to appreciate it's subtle story telling. The list goes on.
Unfortunately, as a scholar's manga/anime, I need to turn on my brain to pick up at least a 3rd of the things that goes on (I continue to learn something new about this series).
My top 5 changes and isn't defined, but I'll say Ichigo, Urahara, Aizen, Shinji, and Rukia (with Senna in the honorary seat).

I love how people said that Bleach isn't that good, while in reality Bleach has a more religious and philosophical background than the average Shonen manga, which in my opinion makes Bleach superior to most Shonen manga.
Another fact is that Kubo named the chapters very uniquely, one of them is of course Deicide (murder of a God).
I also love how Kubo puts poems at the beginning of each volume. Something I had never seen in Shonen manga (putting poems at the beginning of each volume).
I also love how minimalist the volume covers are. Only the characters and the poem will reflect the character's motivation or opinions...
Going back and reading Bleach, I think it's my favorite of the big 3. Rereading it shows that Kubo had many of the story elements planned well in advance. I recently reread the Soul Society arc and didn't even realize that Ichigo opposes Byakuya for being an older brother and what that means.
Ichigo was raised to be the one who protects. It was his mother, then his sisters and then his friends. Even in his group of friends, he plays the role of mature older brother to everyone. Everyone comes to him for guidance. So when Byakuya, Rukia's older brother, does nothing to protect his little sister from execution, I can understand why Ichigo is so upset by him and the whole situation. Additionally, losing to Ichigo causes Byakuya to become a true brother figure to Rukia.
I mean, Bleach is full of tons of subtle details like that that you won't pick up after the first read. For example, Hollow Ichigo is his zanpakuto spirit foreshadowed in his first fight with Renji and his whole thing about instinct appears there too.
Bleach is so good, the construction of the universe and everything that it entails and getting to know that entire universe is without a doubt bleach since let's be honest half of the worlds that we met in One Piece less than 4 are built and not excellent, let's leave the fanboys and the truth is the best of All 3 in terms of development, construction of the universe, protagonist and characters, bleach wins without a doubt, do not forget that everything about the universes and spiritual king is the best that bleach has in narrative
