No, it didn’t break. Perhaps it appears that way because I started the blower in low idle. Come to find out, for gas engines, the PTO should be engaged at full throttle. Luckily, haven’t broken a bolt yet! Thanks for watching.

@@jonah327 Thanks for getting back to me. My dealer put in a “technical case” bulletin and John Deere replied that the throwers lift unevenly and are designed to be operated when on the ground. I find this troubling when I see so many You Tubes like yours where the thrower is being raised and lowered evenly. I understand that the thrower is designed to be operated when on the ground. However, prior to this tractor I owned a 425 series tractor and routinely lifted the thrower slightly on my gravel driveway to avoid rock and lowered it in other places and on paved surfaces. Depends on the area you live in. If you get a bunch of snow every year, I’d get the blower. The blower is a lot more expensive but much cleaner of a job when all done. The plow is good for snow 6” or less and for wet heavy snows.
The camera is probably tricking my eye but...the impeller that lifts the snow and throws it. Looks and sounds loose on the shaft right at the beginning in the garage.
Jonah, are you happy with the throw distance on this unit? I'm looking at stepping up from a Kubota GR2120 to an X748 because I want a more powerful tractor. However, the blower on the Kubota can REALLY throw the snow.
Matt Hey Matt. I think it’s fine. I think throw distance can be an irrelevant measurement. As long as it gets it off the driveway, I’m good. Unless you’re clearing parking lots, I don’t see the need to have it thrown 30’ in the air In some cases in tight areas, such as homes close to each other, you wouldn’t want it discharging onto your neighbors property/driveway. I’ve only used it on real wet slushy type snow, so far, it’s been great. Thanks for watching.
I agree with Matt. The JD blower underperforms. I have identical blower on a 455 and even though throwing distance as you say does not matter, it does. Instead of a high berm let's say at end of driveway because blower can't throw further, the Kubota throws the snow further which is a huge difference. How do I know....neighbour has a Bx with front mounted blower and there is no comparison. I blow snow twice it seems when in fact the blower should be pitching it off my driveway. The X739/cab is a great unit, too bad the blower isn't quite like it should be for the price. Just my opinion.
@@briancampbell5944 I had an LA110 with a John Deere blower and it struggled with wet snow and the plow pile and deeper powdered snow. I upgraded to a John Deere X310 and I went with a Berco blower one step down from the Berco Northeaster. It threw the snow easily 2-3 times as far as the Deere blower and it handled wet snow easily. In hindsight I wish I had gotten the Northeaster because it was heavier duty. I blew out 4 driveways every time I fired it up with that Berco blower for 4 years and it never let me down! This year I upgraded to a Kubota BX2380 with a 55” Commercial blower the heated cab is on order.
Now your talking. That will be a great set up. I wonder why JD can't design a good blower. The green coloured front blower you can buy for the 1 series, Frontier, is the blower to buy not the yellow cookie cutter ones. It is expensive for sure but these units will last 25 years if looked after. I know you will love your new Bx. Let us know how she makes out.
@@briancampbell5944 The Kabota is the SLOWEST blower on the market.Christ, every video that I watch on Kabota BX-series or Grand-L series,it's pushing the snow and not blowing it.You literally have to creep the tractor at about 1-mile-per-hour to get it to work correctly. The Deere"47"and"54"runs circles around Kabotas"rotary"snow blade.
I got the mower and blower if you get time can you measure from the ground up to the top of the soft cab without the beacon so i can see if it will fit into my trailer

While it looks fantastic, I would say something is not quite right. It wasn't throwing snow very far even it it's wet snow. If you had the rpm's wide open, then I would advise an impellor improvement by adding rubber to reduce gaps. It helped mine in wet and dry snow. It threw it farther and doesn't plug up.
@@andybratt6022 Well, when I was a kid, I had to shovel this same driveway. Really didn’t like it. Seems like there was a ton more snow too back then. Heck, I used use a thin piece of plywood and run up and down the driveway to get down faster. Just had to go out every 2-3 inches.

Prev post I had a couple of errors. I meant I 'Have" a sharp incline and it was an Orange dealer along with the Green, not a Red dealer. I need coffee.
I gave a 20-22 degree incline of about 50-60' then it gradually rises a bit more. You appear to have a steep incline as well. What degree inlcine is your driveway? Can't believe any of the green reps around here. They were trying to see me underpowered machines. Red dealers also. Would appreciate a reply when you have time. Would really like to talk to someone who has the same problem I do. Thank you.
The end of my driveway is the worst but it handles it no problem. I take the tractor out to do snow removal and there is this one driveway that must be 30-35 degrees, and it does well going straight up and down. There is a lot of power in this machine to handle most things you got on a typical property. The 4wheel drive, tires, and weight work really well in these conditions.
I see two problems. One is that the snow blower is too narrow for that tractor. The second is it does not throw the snow very far. I like the cab, but for the price of that unit as a whole it is lacking.
John Smith I wish I had opted for the 54” but it does well enough. The snow this year has always been real wet. Always starting as rain, to snow, then rain. It probably would’ve been better with powder. I couldn’t justify paying $1000 more for 7” after dumping a ton of money on the whole thing, like you said. Thanks for responding.

Le tracteur à lui seul coûte environ 9 000 $. L'ensemble que j'ai eu au moment de l'achat était d'environ 18 000. Merci d'avoir regardé!
Have a X724 with AWS but no AWD for 14 years, Bye Bye. In two weeks we will be twins. Great machine
Nice!!! That’s gonna be a game changer for ya! Congrats, my man!
I'm looking at an x739. Do you ever use a plow? If you could only have one.. would you recommend a plow or snow blower?
Depends on the area you live in. If you get a bunch of snow every year, I’d get the blower. The blower is a lot more expensive but much cleaner of a job when all done. The plow is good for snow 6” or less and for wet heavy snows.
The camera is probably tricking my eye but...the impeller that lifts the snow and throws it. Looks and sounds loose on the shaft right at the beginning in the garage.
It’s just the frames per second of the camera. It is working fine. Lol. I noticed that too
Jonah, are you happy with the throw distance on this unit?
George Lehman Hey George. It’s 77-77.5” without the beacon. 78” to be safe I guess for clearance. I know the hard cab is shorter, but also $5000 more. So forget that. Hope it helps! Have a good one
Seems quite effective to me. Which cab is that?
qfdforme Thanks. It’s the JD LP41114 soft cab weather enclosure. $550
@Jonah Kuczynski
Thank you.
Hey that's a nice setup you have there
Thanks buddy!
What is it about snow blowing that brings out the kid in us eh? Always loved doing that job.
Now for the 65,000 dollar question , how much $$ ?
Ha! $17,900.
doesnt throw the light snow very far?
trouble wasn’t light. It was actually pretty slushy. That’s how the snows have been lately. Starts as rain, then snow, then rain. Thanks for watching.
Now there is someone who KNOWS what the hell he is Doing! 90% of all other video's are just ppl who have a piece of equipment! Other video's, ppl got the Chute going up/down, left /right! Leaving furrows on both sides that they have to go back over! This was a pleasure to watch!
Thank you very much for those kind words! It helps having some bit of OCD when assessing and developing an efficient systematic approach. Still room for improvement. Thanks again.
I cut the cab down then I got some conduit the same size as the cab came with bent it the same shape on the very front then I got some 3/16 holders and got some flat metal and attached the clamps to it then I made a template of glass had a place cut safety glass was 114.00 for the window had the have the cloth cut to hold to the glass used velcro strips on material and window holds good I put a mr buddy heater inside it does help out some.
I’d be very interested to see what and how you did that. I really want to do something just like it. I sent you my email but in case it didn’t go through, I’ll leave it here again. jonah_327@yahoo.com.
Prev post I had a couple of errors. I meant I 'Have" a sharp incline and it was an Orange dealer along with the Green, not a Red dealer. I need coffee.
very nice work
Thank you very much!
Terrific camera work!
Thanks! That was my boy who would’ve rather been sledding, but I put him to work first. Thanks for watching!
Is that a little buddy propane heater in there??? Dude how cold can you get in 20 minutes of blowing snow in a CAB!
Lol. I also take the tractor out to more dense neighborhoods. I’m usually out in it for 8 hours.
Why is the price?
The setup I have was just about $18K.
Fortunately a light snow Eyee’ ? Thanks for the cool video..
@@jonah327 Thank you sir. I appreciate both your time and assistance.
Thanks for the reply and explanation.
If you do any sidewalks the 54 is too wide. Much better to make 2 passes than dig up somebody’s lawn edge
Wow, up hill with no chains? unbelievable.
I was shocked and pretty impressed too the first time. The HDAP tires and 4 wheel drive had no issue. Had a little pucker factor the first time being that close to the road, hoping I wouldn’t slide into oncoming traffic! Thanks for the comment and watching!
I was thinking the same
Awesome!!!! You have a camera man/women LOL Great video. Beast of a machine..
Thanks for watching Pete! I have my 11 year old son record for me. Poor kid just went out to sled and I got him to help before he could. I like this machine a lot! Probably the last snow for the winter. I did like 7 driveways today. It was awesome.
@@jonah327 WHAT??? 11yrs old? He did an AWESOME job. I thought it was your wife LOL. He might have a future in movies. Yeah I know buddy it's a great machine, too bad we are having such a mild winter. 7 driveways is a lot!! How is that heater working out?
The still has the safety switch, so it goes off a bit. I will disable it when I switch over to mower. I let him know you liked his recording. He was pumped! You’ve been busy too I see. Your neighbors got a good guy neighborhood. Love your videos buddy. Thanks again!

It should be awesome for $15000.
amazing tractor, very underwhelming blower. a 10 horse ariens throws it 4 times as far.
Nope, this snow is half-a-step away from being rain.I have a 1132 Toro and it won't throw this SLUSH any further then what you see here.
I have a 2017 X739 with 54" Snow Blower & the same Soft Cab (also 54" Quick Connect Mower & 54" Blade), and an slightly older Ariens 28" Professional Hydro-static Snow Blower (420cc I think) with hand warmers.
The JD Snow Blower works just as well as the Ariens in slushy wet snow, and even better in "dry" snow, thus the need for the Soft Cab to avoid ending up looking like a snow man after clearing the Driveway and our Parking area.
I want to get the Chute angling attachment (kit) shown in this video, too bad JD doesn't offer an electric version for this time period, only manual from my research.
@@jakelsch the 54" blower is great, it's the 47" models that is a big dud.
@@jakelsch Hi. Is the soft cab window usable in dry, blowing snow? The hard cab wiper looks better but I don't have a place to store the cab. Thanks.
